X’Trapolis Test Run to Cranbourne/Pakenham
It’s sad that there gone for good, i used to hear them all the time when i was a kid 😢
note the driver wearing a mask at 0:40. i wouldnt have thought the drivers isolated in their own cab had much risk of catching that dreaded plague.
0:26 when was this? because loco hauled services no longer run through Coolaroo (from what I know)
Date noted in the description
1:01 you can hear the Samsung phone message sounds.
looks like the more intact comeng carriages (411M, 412M, 390M) are now shredded into little parts...
This was taken 3 months before those cars were brought
@@RailwaysOfDoom oh. rip comeng sets
According to Vicsig, that Hitachi was scrapped at Infrabuild Recycling Facility at Laverton North after long term storage were a lot of scrapped Comeng Trains end up as future soup cans...
Maybe they will keep and restore to its former glory
RIP comeng
what a huge shame about hitachi set 295M being sent for scrap, especially because i think that was also meant to be preserved with another 3 car hitachi set owned by 707. As someone who loves hitachi's, it's disappointing, and also infuriating at the state of 295M being run down by vandals
Hey, where’s the shed?
Seems like yesterday that SSR got the locos and forever since the hitachi were withdrawn. Crazy.
3:59 crazy how this Comeng has a little bit of Graffiti on it.
Sadly the RVB horns are now gone 😢 i miss that sound
Sad
W comeng
Nice one matey, was a great day. Hopefully won't be too long till 74 does another tour or some more tours.
Beauty of a train she is.
So so sad to see them go, they were such nice train to see me ride on and although (at the time of writing this there are still many left) it is sad knowing they won’t be in timetabled services anymore. RIP Comeng Trains
Railways Of Doom Hitachi
🚅 don't you all enjoy railroad 🚈 trams, trains etc are just so cool 🚞 take a ride in my ''transportation'' folder, (folder 2 in my playlists) :)
😞 "promosm"
I have a feeling that they are doing this test with the comeng as they might run some heritage things with the comeng in the future like what they did with the taits
1) What siding is that at the start? It almost looks like Sandringham. Also poor 491M, the set that was burnt out at North Shore. 2) I think at least one of those was from your Chopper Comeng transfer videos so I'm glad you included that 3) 489-510M was the last Stage 1 I ever rode on so that set will always mean a lot to me, glad you included that. Will definitely miss the RVB's, Comeng's won't ever quite be the same without them.
Sad
Oh no
I wish they BRANG coming trains back aswell.
it will never be the same without comeng's having their RVB horns. They were unique with their horns, and i don't know if i can get used to the new horns
Awesome video of Comeng Trains with RVB RIP best train horn I remember that horn long time ago until now that’s replaced to new horn that’s sound like X’trapolis horn great old history of RVB RIP😢😢
it is very sad there is no more rvbs. thankfully comengs will still be around for another half a decade (or more). i even caught 423m blowing its rvb while trailing
0:46 😊
Glad that I got to Melbourne and saw and heard a few in 2021 prior to the replacement
Quite sad that all are replaced
The childhood of RVB 3 horn will soon disappear 😭😥
RIP RVB😢
It is sad now that all Comenges has now got the Zollner Makrofon horn. RVB, you have made history and will forever be remembered! 🥲
This was the only Stage 1 comeng I ever got photos of. I'm not from Melbourne but have been down there a decent bit lately, mostly since these sets were all retired. I got a photo of 374M near North Melbourne in late April 2022. I remember its scrapping was almost immediate after its withdrawl, jumping the queue in front of a number of the destroyed sets in Totty yard.
Those comengs completely ruined with those new horns!! Would've made common sense to keep the old horns on the train considering they're going to be fully retired in a few years time?
Half the fleet gone by the end of the year and all rvbs gone, its bloody annoying tbh
when did you take this videos
Date in the description.
@@RailwaysOfDoom I just realised it, I missed the old annoucement😥
Great video . My question: If Pkn and Crn lines are now only for HCMT then why run a Comeng for testing , is it in case a remaining Comeng has to be run there for whatever reason in the future ?
they sometimes run comengs and siemens on the Pakenham and Cranbourne line sometimes, usually if there is a special event
@@matheuswolters3448ok , cheers .
How do u find out about things like this so u can film it?
Magic

@@RailwaysOfDoom No seriously tho how

I loved the new version trains mate... I miss my Melbourne
Do we know if these HCMTs travelled the whole journey in the Metro Tunnel?
They did
Superb video
Miss the old seat covers and the old big dot-matrix displays which used to be in the Comeng and X'Trapolis. Thanks for the video.
Gotta love riding on a coming 😎
The emu comeng.

I saw this at Flinders Street
Now during the weekend since the January 31st, 2021 timetable change affect came into the Williamstown line as the weekend shuttle services extended between Newport and Flinders Street during the day time off-peak to merge onto the Frankston line as 6 car train sets. 3 car trains can only be used to operate on the Williamstown line between Newport and Williamstown during late night and weekend early mornings.
