Ultimate Custom Large ATV Trailer
Several years ago a buddy and myself build two large ATV trailers. My trailer has had many years of great service, but recently I had a weld break and I needed to fix it. Additionally, over the years I have had may questions about this trailer: "Where did you get it", "Did you build it", "Do you still have the blue prints", "What are the dimensions" ... As long has I had to take it apart, I thought I would show how it was built and share the dimensions.

Cursed Dirt Bag Fishing Trip on the Kenai Peninsula

No adventure is really a total failure, but I tried really hard anyway. a large factor in salmon fishing is run timing and I just wasn’t in the groove.
Argo: Rain, Mud and Wind

An unforgettable adventure hunting moose in Alaska! Navigating the rugged terrain with an Argo was a wild ride, tackling mud and crazy obstacles along the way. The beauty of nature and the thrill of the hunt combined for an epic experience. #AlaskaAdventure #MooseHunting #WildRide #argo #hunting #alaska
Dirt Bag Salmon Fishing on the Russian River
zhlédnutí 769Před 21 dnem
This was a fantastic trip! Alaskan salmon fishing is all about run timing and I hit the Russian River when the fishing was hot. This trip was a multi-day trip: I left Anchorage at midnight and traveled to the Russian River where is fished, ate and took a nap. Then I traveled to Seward and returned to the Russian. That said, this video is the first day on the Russian River.
Insulating my Enclosed Trailer
zhlédnutí 480Před 28 dny
By insulating my enclosed trailer I plan to make it a 4 season adventure toy hauler. I initially bought this trailer nearly 20 years ago and have hauled just about anything you can fit inside a trailer that you might need for adventuring: four wheelers, argo, snowmobile, bikes and even my drift boat. Additionally, over the years we have camped in this trailer several times. Recently I added lig...

In the spring I reviewed the Campark TC07 solar game camera. In my initial review I gave first impressions, camera programming, and the videos that I collected in the first week of deployment. Additionally I had question that could only be answered from field testing: durability and solar capabilities. Since that time we have had a lot of poor weather to test the camera in the elements and I ma...

I was in that race! And I think you were my vice principal back in noorvik ak a few years back
Excellent video. As Always, I enjoy your Argo & hunting from the Argo stuff the best! Did you ever do a tools/spares for the trail video? What size are your tires on the trailer?
I think I’ve included in a couple of different videos the tools I carry on the trail. I’d have to go back and look to see if I can figure out which ones though. I will check the size of the tires on the trailer and get back to you.
Nice trailer, thanks for sharing
Thank you Bill.
Those trailers have served you so well. Fantastic build!
Thank you Chris.
Strange, something you built made hell for stout?!?! That thing is fantastic Jr. Might not be as bomb-proof as the 80 lb "portable" wood burning stove was, but still great! 🤣
The TimRay. 🔥
Like the trailer built heavy duty
Thank you.
Well thought out, makes all the difference
Thank you.
Great trip.
Amen.
I am glad I'm not in China or Russia, But it is ironic that everyone keeps calling America the "land of the free" When it also has the highest incursion rate per capita. At this point shouldn't the title go to somewhere like Ireland?
But when we enter other countries we don't plant our flag. We entered both Germany and Japan and rebuilt both. They love US.
You bring up an excellent point. I’d go so far as to say we have lost other freedoms as well.
Please. Stop conflating veterans with memorial day. They not the same. All gave some.. some gave all.
We know thanks...TRUMP2024

I arrive in Anchorage tomorrow night super excited about this summer. I'm a sportsman there's no way I will ever snag or dip net for sockeye's. No sport in that at all but that's just me I don't disrespect the fisherman that do snag and dip net. Went to Kenai beach one year to watch the dip netters and it was it shit show. Dead salmon all over the beach disgusting. They even had a bouncy house for the kids right on the beach. This year from June 15th thru Aug. 15 the limit is 6 fish a day on the lower Kenai I wonder how that's going to work. Just takes fisherman longer to limit out and less fishing spots are open. Going to have to get up really early to secure a good fishing spot. I carry 3 spare reels in my backpack with an extra fly rod. Sometimes it's easier to change out reels when you loose your loop on the fly line or you can tie a nail not.
I 100% understand your position. I used to feel the same way, and deep down inside I still do. 👍🏽
It's about the freezer, most till enjoy sportsmanship when fishing, but we also want to be able to fill our freezer. Tons of people come here to take fish and send them home, are we not allowed to use our resources in ways where we guarantee our success against all the tourists? To each their own, but I love fishing, but also love filling the freezer to support my family.
That’s my favorite overlook on the Turnigan Arm. Great place to see mountain goats.
Yes, love this spot. 🐐
wonderful ending too RIA
Thank you, this was part of a multi day trip , but my poor plant brought the trip to an end. I’ve put spare rods and reels in my truck for the upcoming season. 🎣
great stuff! Love the title!
Thank you.😊
For some strange reason, that snagging setup looked weirdly familiar. 😂. Great video!
😂
Dr Fish has no 2nd reel and pole with him?!? I'm CRUSHED! Thank you for making me feel better about myself having done the same kind of rookie thing once or twice. (that I will admit to anyway) Still a great video. Miss fishin with you Jr.
We should plan a trip.
What truck drawer system is that?
It is called a “Ruck Vault”. The drawers on it lock.
This might be your best video yet! Yeah, the BBQ with briquettes is waaay too complicated for a dirt bagger. Glad you caught it in time. I think I'm a dirt bagger, but I call it "hook and cook". Keep it simple. If I lived in Alaska, we would be best friends, no doubt.😅 On the other hand, I've never known anybody as prepared as you when it really counts.
Thank you for the kind words. I’ve been working to prefect my dirtbag game.😁
What did you fillet the fish on?
In my 5 gallon bucket I have an astroturf door mat. It works great, grips the fish and washes off easily.
You went right past me selling bundles at girdwood
Are you there a lot in the summer?
@@RaisedinAlaska I'm usually are the hot fishing holes or the halibut fishing beaches. I hit up everybody headed south at girdwood. Not fishing yet
🏆🤗🙏💪 Thank you for sharing this
Thank you, next time I will be better prepared.☺️
Awesomely scary ! ✝️🇺🇲🍁
Yes, I made mistakes and fortunately I was able to walk away.
man you gotta wear a goPro when you're going on crazy missions like this, but I guess you also probably didn't wanna risk being someone who accidentally has their death recorded on camera.
Yes, around 13:40 things got a bit freaky. I feel pretty lucky to have got out of that without a major hospital visit.
One of the best videos for understanding these tensioners !! Thanks
Thank you very much for the kind words.
Just went by West Marine in Anchorage and picked up the marine grade grease and corrosion x. Looking forward to seeing how they do. Thanks again.
I’ve tried a lot of different products over the years and this is the best product, for this purpose, I’ve ever used. That said, it is spendy.
@@RaisedinAlaska but definitely worth it when you consider what our machines cost to replace. Lol!
@OurAlaskaLife Very true, that’s how I look at it as well.
That Argo is a neat little machine. Looks like it will take you just about anywhere. Hopefully you got your moose.
Thank you, it is slow, but it will go just about anywhere.
Man that looks fun!
Thank you for watching, it was a fun trip out.😁
Looked like a great adventure! Do you ever watch, “Modern Day Mountain Man?” Some of the country you hunt looks similar.
Thank you Chris, I will have to check it out.
Very cool video. We are in Alaska and use an Aurora as our daily driver to our off grid cabin. We're on tracks because we need them and we just recently got a source of water and a pressure washer so we have not been good at lubing the bearings every 25 hours. By which I mean we've never done it and so we've had to take it to the shop for bearing replacements a couple times now. We should be close to having a bush shop where we can start doing some maintenance ourselves and take better care of it, but we're tempted to try to trade in for a Conquest to cut back on the maintenance necessary. Do you have any experience with the sealed bearings of a Conquest or its auto chain lubing system?
We've put a bit over 400 hours on our machine for reference. I think the Conquest requires maintenance every 125 hours rather than every 10/25 hours like our Aurora. Very tempting...
I have not worked on a conquest yet, but I hear good things about them.
Good Morning from the Matsu Valley. I had a question that I wanted to get your opinion on. I have remote properties in Petersville and Point Mackenzie. We use our Argo to get to each property. We use our Argo almost every weekend to get to either property. Should I grease my zerk fittings every weekend after we use the Argo? I always drain and wash out my pans, get any debris from around the axles, spray my chains and wash it after each use. I have a 2004 Argo Conquest 8x8 with tracks. I appreciate all of your videos. Definitely enjoy supporting a fellow Alaskan. Be safe and I look forward to hearing from you.
That is a great question. I probably over grease mine. My concern is always water in the outer bearings. If it were me, being a self proclaimed over greaser, I’d grease the outer bearings, if they were submerged in water, in an attempt to push any water out of the bearing. If there was not water in the tub, and the inner bearings were not exposed to water, I would not grease them every time. My two cents. 😉
Awesome as always TY.
Thank you very much for the kind words.
Moose are my absolute favorite animals! Plus they do have kind of a meaning to me, since where I come from.
Thank you for watching and commenting. I find moose fascinating and I could watch them all day.
Looks fun
Thank you Bill, it was a good trip.
quero um equipamento deste, pena que no Brasil n temos estas facilidades,
Great adventure.
You're going to make me jealous if you post too many salmon fishing videos 😂.
I got more coming. 😁
Good build, it should be a great improvement.
What do you use to catch salmon? and what's the limit in a day?
That is a great question. It really depends on the variety of salmon that you’re fishing for. And this video I was fishing for sockeye salmon and so I was using a fly.
Only 1 young calf? Bear must go! Nice video! Thanks
Thank you. Yes, the predation is very high.
Sockeye salmon aren't really big, but they don't have any quit in them. I think the forecast is for another great run this summer too.
I’m looking forward to the season. 🎣

What part of the state are you from?
I currently live in Anchorage, but I have lived in other places and I visit many parts of the state.
My fellow Alaskan
Is this upstream past the sanctuary?
This is just upstream from the confluence a mile or so.
Thanks for answering. I guess I always assumed you can only go down stream, never went upstream from the confluence and tried. Looks more peaceful. Haha. Thanks!
@beefpanda4313 You bet. It can get crowded, but first thing in the morning generally will get you a good spot.
Great haul. And a fun/productive trip! (Delicious too!)
Thank you.
Are the fish running already? nice amount of salmon. Thanks for sharing

Thank you for the kind words.
Great job all around! The Argo we had was incredible for getting us off the beaten path, getting us home, well......that's a totally different story.
Thank you, they do require more maintenance than the average ATV. I guess all toys have pros and cons.
