How to Tie a Bowline Reliably Every Time!
Tying a Bowline sailing knot with the traditional rabbit going around the tree has a major flaw! In this video I upgraded the story to solve this problem. It’s called the mouse and the snake. The mouse shows you how to make the hole properly and then the snake goes around the tree and down to complete the bowline.

We get to Iona in this third day of the Ireland to Iona dinghy cruise by oar and sail. From Colonsay to Iona today. Passed the Torrance rocks, landing on Columba’s bay and on to the Abby. It was an amazing day.

A great second day. Speeding along with a fast tide through the sound of Islay. Stopping at Colonsay and getting a great tour of the island and history of Colomba. Landing on a secluded sandy beach sandy beach. The mirror 16 dinghy did us proud. She stayed strong all the way through. No breakages or issues.

Day 1 of Port ban sailing club 2022 sailing with the little mirrors. They are 10’ we are 16’. The mirror 16 starts 5 min later with the other “white sails’. Great first sail. It’s great to be sailing the waters that the expedition is going to be on.

We Sailed from Dunbar to Eyemouth and back. We went out on the Mirror 16 dinghy to prepare for the big trip in September where Pheonix (boat) will sail from Ireland to Iona. Wednesday night race with Dunbar Sailing club. We are racing against the yachts and managed to overtake them and come first across the finish line. In one hour. However who knows if we won until the handicaps are calculated!
