Have 7 and 40. They sound amesing....but only ower 80db+

Hi Brad, Is there a noticeable performance shift upwards with the discrete design employed in the SE version ?

I'm listening to this video on my pair of SCM7's that showed up today. Crazy midrange transparency. They're exceeding my expectations so far. :D

One time I sold my amplifier (My prized possession at the time) to put a down payment on a $12,000 diamond ring to propose my girlfriend with at the time. (Over 6 month's salary for me then) Angrily she said, "You're just selling it so you can get the bigger amp!!", then she broke up with me a couple months later. Luckily that was day 89 into a 90 day return policy. The "Hearts and Arrows" cut set in platinum ring went back, and I immediately bought the bigger amp, lol. So now many years later, I have 1000 lbs + of stereo in my living room, 1200 watts per channel RMS...and no wife.

Wonder if ATC will ever adapt to a more modern approach in terms of dispersion for their two ways? I don't see much value in these typical dispersion mismatched two ways when other manufacturers are doing much better in that regard for cheaper.

I was never before moved to tears by an audio factory tour video. After watching it, I vowed to only buy THEIR speakers and amps, and a washing machine if they made it. The place is beautiful. The workers seem to be in a zen like state of fulfillment. I didn’t change my meds or anything, I don’t know what it is.

自宅には、ＡＴＣ ＳＣＭー２００ＳＬＰＴを特注して設置して有ります。アクティブ使用からパッシヴ仕様に変更して貰いました。大きく重いスピーカーですが特注して正解でした。日本ではＡＴＣは全く人気が有りませんでしたが、自分自身はこの音質に大変満足しています。購入した時も高い金額を払いましたが、現在では入手困難なので後悔はしていません。アンプやＣＤプレーヤーもハイエンド製品が必要に成りますが、なんとか揃える事が出来ました。人生最後のスピーカーとして最後まで愛用したいと思います。

I've always dreamed of owning ATC speakers. I have a bookshelf monitor that incorporates the RAAL ribbon tweeter but this midrange dome has been on my radar ever since I heard of ATC 15 years ago. I've also wondered what I would give up or sacrifice switching from a true ribbon tweeter to a traditional dome tweeter. Still always had a hunch I would gain tremendous improvement in the mid range and off axis response in return. ATC sure charges a premium but I guess it's because they have some proprietary technology and proven studio performance.
