The start of this Episode is Epic. Really enjoyable. St. Petersburg has a lot to offer and I cannot wait to see the next Episode with the Ladoga lake. The lake was so important during the WW2.

I didn't see any of that in 2006, so thanks for that..I wish I had spent more time...story of my life.. Was that lake Ladoga, the one I went to, very large where they hold the off-road event, considered the worlds toughest?

Beautiful bike trip! Brings back memories. I was in Leningrad and Moskow( and Uzbekistan and Tajikistan) back in 1979..Bet the cities look different now as all the buildings are fixed.

Fabulous. I drove through St. Petersburg in 2006, equally beautiful, clean and well kept. Then on to lake Ladoga to take part in an off-road event in my Land Rover. Russia, a place I always wanted to go back to, but am now probably too old now, so will never see Moscow, so thanks for your pictures. I particularly like your methods of affordable travel, makes us think we could do it. Filming and editing later is a great idea. Surprised you are crossing from Russia into Ukraine.

hope all these villages will be revitalised, i think one solution is to encourage city dwellers to get a second home,somthing other than a dacha,once little communities are formed they can manage themselves like in tsarist days,like they could share security/guard duties idk water management etc

Very nice and interesting Episode. Dogs were very happy to see you that morning. :) The subway in Moscow is a must, been there and I have very fresh memory about it. Actually if one enters GUM he/she can see some nice exhibitions. I remember that when I was there there were vintage cars inside on display. It is also worth visiting the Lenin's Mausoleum that is there when you pass the Red Square. Thanks for sharing it. Cheers. Take care Pavlin.
