I have several Ryobi tools and this one is by far my favorite and the the one I use the most. I wish the blades could be replaced but according to Ryobi on the Home Depot website, they can’t be purchased. Which is my biggest gripe about it. Also, YES, be very careful as this thing could take your finger off without a problem 😩😩😩😩😩😩

Great video! I have one of these and can tell that Ryobi is just pure garbage. Really low quality from a me-too brand. Never coming back to their toys after I had three products failing after just one year.

I just recently bought this fan, and have exact same gripes about it (and same overall positive impression too); Stepping through the fan speeds is completely backwards from how you'de expect. But more importantly-- RYOBI switching their design in this refresh, to using that extra powerbrick for external power, seems like SUCH a step backwards. I thought it was a bit weird when I saw it with their new 40v fan, but I didn't realize they also refreshed the 18v one with that too. By the time I found out, it was too late for me to find any of the original 18v ones in stock. They have to know that this is way less convienent. I'm guessing this was intentionally done to address some potential safety issue or something.. Like maybe they ran into some issues with the old ones.? Anyway, knowing that I will definitely be losing this cord at some point (lol), got me thinking about how to keep fan/cord together. I think may have found a super easy solution, so I thought i'de share. I cut two little squares of heavy duty 3m adhesive velcro; Put the one half on the side of the powerbrick, and the opposite half on the side of the housing that sticks out the back of fan. Just got one. Does fine with thick weeds and up to ~1/2" saplings. Makes for a nice lightweight intermediary between the line trimmer head and my beast of a gas-powered brush saw.

I just bought this exact one and thankfully I have many batteries for this from the 2 amp, 4 amp and the 6 amp so I am good to go. You are right I do not like the adapter and much prefer the plug in in the center of the battery hook up. Thanks for the video as I couldn't figure out how to plug that adapter in. It took me a minute to figure out how to tighten up the dang thing so it wouldn't fall over. Thanks again.

So basically, I went out with my friends and took my uncles Coleman NXT 200 BBQ. We ended up drinking and losing one of the grill grates. I need to find a replacement as I can't give BBQ back to him without it. I've scoured the internet and can't find the grill grate or even the same BBQ. At this point I'm willing to the whole BBQ but can't find anywhere. I will get my friends to pitch in as well. It would be wonderful to get the exact piece so it's not a fake one (which I still couldn't find) as I just don't feel right giving it back with a "worse" part. I would if it's the last resort. Prefer to find the piece and even replace both sides. willing to even buy a used one and just take one of the grates from it and clean but nothing in my area on Marketplace, Craigslist. I think NXT 100/200/300 have the same grates if that's even possible to find. If not replace the whole BBQ. I do live in Canada so maybe that's y l'm having trouble. Willing to pay the fees to get shipped it I must. If anyone has any idea where to get would be wonderful.

Just ordered the Milwaukee M18 brushcutter for larger areas of grass . For the tough stuff, I will continue using my Husqvarna 535LK and a mulching blade or clearing saw, which work surprisingly well, considering it's only 2.2hp!

Every time I stop my Makita 18V LXT string trimmer, the head spins off. I cannot figure out how to tighten it enough for it to stay on every time I stop my string trimmer. The 3yr warranty just ran out. Any ideas on how I can fix it?

Your definitely not supposed to be cutting trees down with em. It took me a few times of breaking mine to figure that out....its literally for trimming hedges..

When I put a new spool head, i forgot to put the metal plate underneath. Now I have a hard time to take the spool head out. Is there a way to remove the spool head? thanks
