    Im so confused, the lego train really messes up with my brain 😆 I tried to do the same by building these things inside mecabricks and exporting them to blender or Unreal Engine but it took so long to actually have a building if you work piece by piece that I stopped before I actually had even one building.. This is awesome!

    • @CanosieLabs
      @CanosieLabs Před 7 dny

      hi, yeah, the buildings are built basically one brick at a time, basically and they do take a long time. Right now, I'm working on another building and I messed up the height and now I'm trying to figure out how to best fix it without re-doing it all..lol

    • @brovideolol3488
      @brovideolol3488 Před 7 dny

    • @CanosieLabs
      @CanosieLabs Před 7 dny

      @@brovideolol3488 oh, for sure. I mean, if something like a backside of a building doesn't get scene, I won't put bricks there. That's mainly for performance reasons for Blender. I omit anything that isn't visible.

    • @brovideolol3488
      @brovideolol3488 Před 7 dny

      @@CanosieLabs Do you think the performance would be better if it would've been made in Unreal Engine 5 using Nanite? Pretty sure you can way further then inside blender, anyhow its so hard to see the difference between reality and your scene so it looks very cool! Are you planning on animating some things too? Cars, theme park? Minifigures walking around, lights and maybe the sea? Think that would be very cool! Specially when you make your camera as small as possible so we could see it from a minifigs perspective

Do you have any idea how structurally stable these builds would be in real life?

    • @CanosieLabs
      @CanosieLabs Před 12 dny

      haha, yeah, that's a good question about how structurally stable they are. I'm certain the buildings will need bricks inside them to hold up the roof. Maybe three overlapping plates layers might be enough... but I omit that in my renders for performance reasons b/c they won't be seen.

    How are you able to keep your blender scene from slowing down with this many bricks?

    • @CanosieLabs
      @CanosieLabs Před 12 dny

      hi, The viewport can't support the entire city at once. Even if I disable buildings from the viewport, Blender keeps a reference to them behind the scene so the UI still got slow after a while.. :( I ended up using linked collections in the main city layout file(with the cameras) with different sections of the city in other files. Doing that, I exclude parts of the city I'm not actively working on from being imported in the main layout file. When I'm ready to render, I go to those separate files and re-include the buildings into the collection that's being exported. I do the rendering of the main city file from the command line. So I never have to view the entire city in the viewport at once. It's a bit of a pain lol

    • @CanosieLabs
      @CanosieLabs Před 12 dny

      thanks for the comment! I've seen some people have very nice looking seamless crossings, but they've planed the angles of the crossing very carefully so it all "fits". I can't really do that since there is too many tracks and interactions with buildings (ie entrances) to do that.
