NO MESS OIL CHANGE! Drain Pan

I highly recommend this for the average DIY'er for the average joe doing an oil change. This is as close as you're going to get to one of those oil catch cans that the lube shops use.

We thought we had a blown head gasket, because we did a "block test" to check for exhaust gasses in the coolant, the test came back positive, so we thought we had a blown head gasket. After tearing down the engine (videos being uploaded on engine teardown) we discovered our OIL COOLER was bad. In this video, the guy uses the same test we used to check for blown head gasket, cracked block or cra...

Crossfire: Installing Oil Catch Can From NeedsWings
Isnt it risky to use high pressure water for the electrical components?
Did you figure it out? Im have same issue with exhaust "leaking" out of both sides. I replaced the exhaust bellow and still coming put both sides
I have the same problem
the catalyst is the hardner, not the paste!
Can we pressure wash any engine like this ?.
O installed an elecrric fuel pump in mine. I also rebuilt my carb. Some great videos on CZcams on hiw ro rebuild a merc carbm just do a search in yourubem i believe its Mikes Carburetors
I would never get those drain pans. Way too many things can go wrong to make a mess. The ones that are open with the spout are the best. Just find a 5 gallon reusable container and the chance of making a mess is greatly reduced. You can always have a bad day but so far I’ve been lucky
How you know of that old filter is bad
Fuck me this is the sound ive been looking for
Wouldnt it be easier just to pull the engine and trans thru the top as an assembly. Then pull the trans off the motor.
Looks pretty good sport!
Dielectric grease is conductive and used for electrical components for that reason.
Thanks for the video. Checked mine this morning. Afraid it might be over filled. Fluid came out. So I quickly put plug back in. Checking around to make sure I have the correct fill plug. As far as fluid changes. The manual says it needs to be changed every 100K miles. Dealer recommends every 50K miles. I have had mine changed by dealer every 50K or so miles. Just checking on them today. Have a odd sound occasionally. Sounds like most likely a baring. Happens when driving up hill for like 1/2 mile in the morning. Only. Goes away after about 1 mile. Won't happen when it is warmed up. Won't happen when warming up the car in driveway. Won't happen when driving on level road in morning. Might have 2 or more noises. One is more related to engine speed. Might have came from water pump. Not reproduced after fresh oil change. But I hear a noise still. But softer coming from transmission side.
“It’s still dripping, I didn’t put the drain plug in because I’m smart” had me cracking up. I just recently purchased the same oil pan and my son experienced the same thing with the oil not draining fast enough. Thank you for the tip!
I have saturn ion 2003. The coolant light is on. But the gage says not overheating. Do know why
I have had the same issue at least twice. Took it to a mechanic and they diagnosed it as a bad sensor. Doesn't mean there isn't a leak. But if you're confident you got no leaks, then likely check the sensor. Not sure WHICH sensor, but whichever one has to do with coolant. I'd first start with the one that reads the level of the coolant in the coolant reservoir. It may think its low when its actually full.
@@GoodNRG. Yep sensor in reservoir most likely. And i read that if you dont have the Delco reservoir brand in there it will mess up the coolant light somehow
@@mysteryandmeaning297 Interesting
Weird i came across this video just for engine cleaning & bumped with a crossfire at the end
Do I need to disconnect my battery before I do this ?
As long as you disconnect the coil pack module, then you should not have to. Technically, you don't have to because once the coil packs come off and are out of the way, then the only thing that can shock you are them. The spark plugs won't have any electrical component connected to them at that point (coil packs out of the way).
DON'T TOUCH IT AFTER YOU USE THE ACATONE !!!!!!
it's the same as dove soap cleaner I haven't found one spray on where you could just use water to hose it down without any scrubbing that would be a miracle.
Hard to follow. You will bend you threads. Run your nut. On more till the end of the bolt sticks out. I have trouble. Following your instructions. Later.

Hey Rook, Don’t do videos’s if you don’t know what you are doing! Anyone watching this video, it’s a great video for what not to do!
You mean I shouldn't take a flap wheel to my gelcoat?
What a hack!,polyfair, white gel coat with Cabo sill- done
Great job. I'll be doing this with my boat as well. Transom has to be replaced. Anymore pointers?
Simple green is fine on aluminum. 👊
My god no I'm 3 yrs late but that whole needs a fiberglass and resin job. I would be laying glass inside and out filling that whole smallest glass patch to largest and at least 3 layers of glass. Then sand and use a filler suitable for water exposure that can be painted over with gel coat. That stuff is like trying to sand cement if yo wait to long to sand it.
I like that the video gets right to the point. Thanks for leaving out your life story.
Hi there, i have 2004 ion automatic could you please help me ! Where is the. Transmission solenoid located, i have car taken apart but nothing looks like there part i bought at auto parts. Thanks

That's why you cover your work area with a plastic sheet and newspaper or similar to protect your driveway or city street to avoid messes. Again, were is your funnel? If I were you, I would remake this video showing good examples of what to do to keep your work area and your engine area clean. I have been changing engine oil in cars for over 30 years and I have never made a mess of my work area or engine compartment. Smart automotive working practice
Great video and a great idea. Thanks
Great video 🤙💯
Question I have a Nissan Atima 2012 and it throws up a code p01778 which is the step motor do you think I need to just change the whole valve body
Where's part 4
Input output Speed sensor location
Thank you, very helpful.
I had the 0446 code and it was the purge canister. When it was replaced i turrned the ignition on to the battery only and pumped the brake 3 x"s and it cleared the engine light.
If the spark plugs are taken out in a particular order , is there a number on them to know which new spark plug goes where? Can one spark plug be exchanged or taken out and put in another plugs location, ie; S.P. #1 into S.P. #4 & VICE VERSA?
No scrub also means no wipes. I think pressure washer would skip step 3
