It is RAW sensor readout. Either you do line skipping and compromise the rolling shutter ... or you crop in to 4k of the sensor and don't compromise rolling shutter. BMD does the latter. So do Canon and Panasonic.

3:00 Sorry but regardless how great and powerful a PC could be (and even cheaper), you will never convert me to ever use a PC for one major reason: Windows…. I’m a MacOS guy and nothing will change that. For me, the OS alone is worth the high price tag of Macs… and that’s why I used a $7k Maxed out MacBook Pro 16”.

Just a note: The plastic isn’t relied on for the v-mount. It just helps you line things up when sliding on and off. You can actually buy v-mount clamps that only have the receiver for the V shaped dovetail and they still lock up.

I have made indie feature films and music videos for over 15 years (I started back when 4k was really only available to movie studios or to really big budget projects)- so many people forget about Lighting, shot composition, framing, using 2 cameras to cut seamlessly between angles in a scene etc etc that make their work "look cinematic".... BUT as I am in the market for some new gear, I have noticed that there are TONS of Red Komodos for sale on Ebay and other places and there are TONS of other Reds at very reduced prices for sale that it takes a long time to even look at them all....BUT at the same time, there are very very few people Re-selling their Canon Cinema Camera line cameras like the c70 (a direct Komodo competitor)or the c500 mkii or c300 mkiii etc.....makes me nervous about buying a Red rather than renting it for a project...

Used to work for the company whose battery you threw in the beginning. They make gold-mount versions too, so I'm not biased, but I honestly prefer V-mount. Never had any issues with plastic expanding or contracting. For run-and-gun situations, V-mount is much easier to mount/dismount in my opinion.

Definately going to buy two of them for my next feature film. As a writer/director and a crazy cinematographer this camera looks great and the price points are incredible. I direct and shoot my docs and features, which I have been using the RED ONE MX, and my SONY F35, my Canon 1DC. I shot two features with a Canon 7D and a 7D PL modified by FVG. Time to sell the old and get the new. Keep Shooting.

Literally all the Sony fx series are cheaper than this camera

2:40 "There is no option on the market right now that is a full frame cinema camera under $10,000" Sony FX3, Sony FX6, Sony FX9, Canon C500, Canon EOS R5 C, Kinefinity MAVO LF, Panasonic Lumix BS1H, DJI Ronin 4D, Z CAM E2-F8, Z CAM E2-F6 just off the top of my head. There is no such thing as an "FX10"

FX6 is 6 grand and it's pretty standard right now. Most would agree it's a better value than the FX9 even. The feature film The Creator is getting an IMAX release and was shot on that.

I mean I’d say wrong . Coloring red is so much easier! Also it’s totally capable of being a one man band what are they talking about u don’t need a team for this camera lol
