I was six years old when this song was released in 1990, when I 1st heard it was in 1997 and it was love at first listening. This morning I heard it on Radio 2000 and I was taken down memory lane.
I want that Christmas t shirt!!! <3 love that he is wearing a shirt of James project
Was looking for this song for YEARS. Kept finding only the Guns N' Roses song. But I knew I didn't imagine the existance of this song 😂❤
I saw them play this live at a skateboard demo in December 1990, Tony Hawk and Ray Barbee at the Standard Bank Arena in Johannesburg...feels like a lifetime ago now...
incredible album. Full of pure greatness, not a single filler track on it

one fifty six pm at 9:20 in the morning - For Goddess King Shawn Colvin Posted in Uncategorized on January 10, 2011 by blackshepherd 9:20am - I posted the piece below….the last piece and I was looking at the scroll beneath it and it said: Posted January 10, 2001 at 1:56pm….strange, given that we were born 1-56 and that one one fifty six pm on Jan. 10th, 2011 has not occurred yet. And, I’ve never seen a mistake like that before here on this blog….just another triple coincidence….chances of it happening that way are trillions upon trillions to one but I’m chalking it up to coincidence cause I like my sanity “this” side of the fence…. Apropos of nothing: It’s the depth of your thoughtfulness that astounds me…the genius with which you express your love and inner self…it’s your mind I love the most I think… For you it would be the simplest thing in the world to figure out my passwords and lock combinations…I wouldn’t be surprised to find that we use some of the same ones… January 10, 2011 - Happy Birthday Candlekin, The wind will blow as hard and as far as necessary in order to transform this world into one fit for you….you beautiful creature/angel Shawn Colvin our clan will gather they are gathered interwoven waiting silently invisibly but they all are here and they are ready for anything. I feel sorry for those profiteering from warfare right now. One solitary color one shimmering solitary color the color of love the color of your spirit Shawn Colvin…
me last two years listening to Björk 99%, others 1%. Feeling that she has the sweetest voice on earth. Now youtube shows me this thumbnail, reminding me of Suzanne. I find both equally sweet and amazing. The beginning sounds a bit like Don't give up.
My will is well strong
Haven't heard this for decades. Brill
What's the Sound of Music sample? At the very beginning?
Exactly
I was 19 when it was released now 52,memories of a teenager growing up in KZN....trully blessed to be alive❤❤❤❤
I agree, so great and good times in South Africa
Underrated.
Had the "Unbelievable" cassingle and this was on the B-side. Such a great track!
Frankie is the best
Cool song. Good guitar work. Nice feeling ... Really very "summerish"
Such a beautiful song, and on a subject that most would hide in a closet. It is so relevant, more perhaps today than in the time it was written. Young girls today, in this society, it is so easy to get into this trap. I have seen so many lives being destroyed by this. Sad and nostalgic song...
Who is she asking for guidance?
That would be God. Be well.
@@johnthorne4093 Always well pal
Get over it
TRULY FANTASTIC AND AWESOMELY BRILLIANT, AND INCREDIBLE, SUPERB, TERRIFIC, TREMENDOUS version of an all time Chart Classic. Petula has done it yet again and as taken a outstanding song and made it her own.
I just found this music and lyrics by Suzanne Vega, "Penitent." Surprisingly, it was suggested on one of my philosophy professors' comments by someone. I am listening with astonishing exhilaration of Suzanne's ability to communicate with within one's soul, the questions of knowing the unknown. A lovely piecemeal of offers of tenderness of artisty, and I extend my congratulations to you. ❤
Masterpiece till this day... Deserved more recognition from the broader world.
Love this song
My favorite piece of all time Magical; painful -Thank you Phil & Tim😢
RAVE ON …THE 90s rocked
Sad to say but Phil/Rhett overproduced this lp. Mental Notes didn't need anything but Island records to push it thru. Listen to Roxys first lp to Avalon and you will hear too much sheen...Remake/Remodel???
I remember those times 🤣🤣🤣
Back home in Botswana
I remember this with so much love,
Wonderful. Reminds me of someone I had a crush on❤
Absolutely love the mid 198O's pop jams and this one has such a frenetic, neurotic insanity of a melody: like a do this- do that- go here- go there sequence. It's nuts!! I even here some of that hypnotic, funky, rhythmic sound reminiscent of the 1970's!!! Have heard this somewhere back there in my file. Miss those 80s clubs we had in Phoenix then!
Agree with much of what u said, but it's NOT mid 80's it's late 80's,, entered the UK charts August 87,, so in less than 2 and half years it would be the 1990's.? Yes
What a great song, I really love it. Great voice also, Frankie Miller is played very often by me, I share his music when with friends, I spread the joy of Mister Miller's tunes.
Heard this o radio this morning had to hunt it dy not heard it in many many years thankyou ❤️
Awful hornfest pop!!
