No, you dont have to take the entire wheel off but to clean the wheel thoroughly, you should. The acid doesnt affect non painted surfaces.

None. The z71 has torsion keys. You simply turn the keys to the max for 30's

Nope. Just make sure you have the correct offset, width, and tire size. You'll need 24x9 (Offset: +38 or higher) with 245/30/24 tires.

If they don't fit, you have the incorrect offset. You need the correct offset which is +38 or higher.

You need 22 x 8.5 (+38 offset or higher) on 225/30/22 tires

You can't go wrong with multi-piece wheels because if one were to become damaged, you simply disassemble the wheel and replace the affected part.
