I hear from some people .. ohh wonderful nhs .. oh raigmore helped me yada yada... They are often very defensive if you make negative comments.. except about the car park.. everyone hates the car park... I look at raigmore... knowing many of its wards... having met a few good doctors and nurses there... I think about the majority of doctors and nurses... especially nurses.. complaining about pay.. 3 times out of 4 you go into a ward with dying people and the nurses are going on about their new boyfriend.. etc etc pay pay pay... and you wonder how they can be so lacking in humanity when people vastly worse off than themselves are going through their last stages of life.. often with horrific financial and physical distress... Then there are the worst ones.. the ones that give ten times the dosage of medicine because they don't bother to check.. that leave someone vulnerable in their filth whilst having a group chat with colleagues.. you see them.. you tell them.. but because you are not a so called medical professional then you obviously don't know the needs of a patient that you have nursed for years... They self glorify on the backs of others and describe as heroic a hard days work.. where a life has been saved... even if it hasn't. .. a hero is someone that stands in deaths way and dies so others can live.. a fireman that gets horribly burned saving a family... I'm sure 99 percent of nhs heroes do not fall into this category.. Otherwise everyone's a hero.. and then what meaning would the word have... Homicide detectives speak for those that cannot.... I look at raigmore and I see the thousands who died... many before their time.. and many with 'I'm not paid enough' among the last words they hear... the experiences of these people.. some horrific.. of being forced to lay in their own filth... having numerous doctors sign off on their ailments and treatment with only a few even attempting continuity of care... reassessments skipped.. assumptions made.... Mistakes are made... mistakes are human and therefore allowed for... systems are blamed and not fixed for (reasons) but ultimately to cover the mistakes.. sorry.. we are 40 years behind the usa this is Britain. . It's free.. ok.. err no.. it's 110 120 billion gbp of our money.. and your an employee... The nhs and GPS are kept seperate.. the old union trick.. it's not us.. it's them.. to never let responsibility fall where it should... resources are blamed... promises made and discarded late in the day.. patients ignored.. calls from other doctors ignored.. on duty staff missing... often for hours... The number of years of extra life.. taken by negligence and not excusable mistake increase... 50000 60000 more.. much much more... people who could have seen another day.. another year.. another decade.... people that could have parented others... gone.. and often with nothing but negligence as a cause. . Recorded in hidden memories only... certificates and words forged.. But they can agree .. the car park is terrible.. sometimes I think that it is left that way decade after decade.. as it is another thing they can use as an excuse..

You are still under the Governments rules of time scales and budgets before patient care. The NHS has become a Business to the Drug Companies and not a Service to the Patients. If doctors cannot use their own initiatives but instead have to work by policy through legislation then they do not see themselves in their true worth. A good doctor is one who questions why so many people are becoming ill rather than just treat the illness....Care is never a singular structure !
