Almost all Thais know the English naming words, so you just got to teach them the joining words. Basic English is easy to learn but to be grammatically correct is hard. A lot of Thais, particularly males have no interest in learning it and actually resent using the language.

Not everybody goes to Thailand for prostitutes. Nightlife is fun but doesn't mean you're doing hookers. When I lived in Europe, I went to Amsterdam and Antwerp because the party atmosphere was so much fun but they all have red light districts. It doesn't mean that's why you go there. I think some people secretly with to go for the hookers. That's why they talk that way. I like regular girls as it's a much better experience.

Totally agree. Face is often totally overplayed by westerners and they read into things that aren't actually there. Also, there is nothing unique to a face saving culture where it's not ideal to call out people for their mistakes in front of other people. If you have an issue with something or someone, you talk to them in private, thats kind of SOP all over the world. I think Kittichai is right, a lot of these people who talk about face in Thailand are often ones looking for an issue where there often isn't one.

Only cheaters forgive cheaters and only cheaters accept cheaters, no wonder it has one of the highest infidelity rates in the world. Cheating not only entails just the violating the physical aspect of your relationship agreement, but also trust,respect,honesty,the core pillars of the relationship. What other part of the relationship was a lie, what others lies has been told, has it only been this one time, has there been occasions of 1st,2nd,3rd base. Cheating doesn’t just happen, it’s premeditated; entertaining the idea towards to taking part in flirting, getting to a location, undressing, kissing, and doing the act. That would suggest a lack of shame, guilt, empathy, respect and other qualities. And the development of qualities or a lack of qualities as such is a result of environmental factors, culture, norm etc. when I was in Uni there, cheating was rampant, and apparently celebrated, by both sexes equally. Also the amount of lying and sneakiness required to cheat.

I lived in Thailand 10 years from '91.....The moment I stepped out of the airport I had felt at Home I recall, the way I never felt back in my home-country even! The Food was a hit straight out and the People I found to be so childlike, accommodating and genuinely friendly, and to see "Being Polite" being key to everyday life in this day and age, impressed me to no end. I still visit Thailand every 5 years and that's because no other Country can become Home for me save THAILAND
