I agree that the customers are b*tchy and entitled but part of becoming an adult is learning that you don't always get to do the things you want. The best thing about retail is the hours. They will pay you pennies and schedule you for 35-40 hours. Then, they’ll give you a pay raise and schedule you for 10-17 hours. So then you complain about hours and they’ll call you when you’re out doing something on an off day, and when you say “um, I’m out rn but I could come in in a few hours or so”. Then you get the “well, we were hoping you could come in since you are always asking for hours.” Working retail is shit unless you can manage to get a manager position, but that just means more bullshit from the higher ups.

As someone who works in fast food, please just come in with what you want already decided. Don't be asking me what you should have because I don't know you or your tastes. Don't be asking where an older product went because we don't know why the company takes stuff out, they just do. Don't complain about the prices of the food, because we don't make them and the company doesn't give a single shit if you think the prices aren't good. Don't be calling a thousand people asking what they want when you're already at the register, because you are not the center of the world and theres more people after you that would like to take their order. And for fuck sake, pay attention to what we ask you. With some clients, you ask and confirm with them a million times that that is their order, and they don't pay attention and after it's done, they come complaining that that's not what they ordered. Remember that we work there. We don't make any of the rules, the prices, anything. We simply follow and do what we are told and that is it.
