The Life and Songs of Gentleman Jim Brady - Introduction with Legends of the Century
Not so long ago, Gentleman Jim Brady was a busy and respected musician in places like Arizona, California and Nashville. Early on Jim taught himself some guitar and formed his own band, performing throughout his home state of Maryland. Jim left Maryland to head out West, performing in venues throughout Las Vegas, Arizona, Colorado and California, among others. During these years Jim produced and performed on three albums and also became an avid motorcycle rider, a theme which is reflected in many of his musical works. Thanks, Joel. This has long been a favorite of mine and I was so glad to have this inspirational performance to offer in remembrance of such an outstanding musical advocate-- in so many different ways.
This performance which I directed was on 6/13/2007 in Stevenson, MD. Some of the Baltimore area players participating (in addition to Ed Goldstein) were Elisa Koehler, Luis Engelke, Marshall White, Jari Villanueva, Paul DeLuca, Greg Pascuzzi, John Baker, Frank Gorecki, Brandon Powers, Ramona Galey, Pete Hengen, Ken Bell, Natica Blanch-Losee, Ron Friedman, Jared Denhard, Jim Ryon, David Kanter, Milton Aldana, Eliza Feller, Robert Posten, Tim Collins, Matt Fulkerson, and Donna DiStefano. My thanks to all the players for such a stirring rendition, particularly after only about 20 minutes rehearsal time.

Bob was my elementary school band director at Bryant Woods Elementary in Columbia Md...by far one of my favorite teachers of all time..Bob is one of the greats, after bob I went on to play percussion in so many different ensembles as well as my own groups! Bob always made music fun! -Steve Wishnies
