1. not sure i recommend banging a hammer on your precision level :( and 2. that final result doesn't look great? can you just basically cut through (6mm is pretty thin...) with scoring a bunch more times?
Tiene regulador de velocidad
Which side goes on and which side goes out???
This is all wrong he is tiling straight on floor board no prime nothing
What is the lifespan of the board? Can I use it on the exterior, or do you have a special backer board for outdoors?
I assume for the demo that's why you used rawl plugs. In my application I used Tapcon screws directly into the cinder blocks (breeze blocks for us Brits!)
Can hardie board go straight on to floor boards
MMMM. Next time I want to dance I will come back. Learned nothing.
Can this go onto chipboard instead of having to put down ply?
Hello, BAL Flexbone 2Easy can be used over a chipboard floor (without a prior overlay) providing that the boards are: - Suitable grade - Flat and level (SR1) - Dry, rigid and securely fixed (typically screwed to joints at 300mm centres, including any cross noggins) - Able to carry all anticipated static and dynamic loads without deflection
rubbish amateur video just to sell a product
What are all the differences between rubi 56914 or 52972? Do you like more?
What about floors what thickness is suitable 20mm???
Hello, thicknesses from 6mm-20mm can be installed as an overboard onto both cement and timber-based substrates. The thicker the board the greater the insulation properties.
Hi, thanks for this, can you tell me what type of screws you recommend, do they need to be stainless steel as I'm boarding a shower? Also what is the name of the adhesive you are using? Thanks.
Hi thanks for the question. We would recommend using HardieBacker > www.ctdtrade.co.uk/hardie-backer-screws-pack-100. These are available in 25mm and 35mm. You can also find a great selection of board adhesive > www.ctdtrade.co.uk/adhesive-grout/board-adhesive. Thanks

Hi My builder used this and unfortunately within a month of finishing the glass tiles 4 x2" started to crack hoorizontally. The cracked tiles are not in one place and I have no idea why it has done this. What can be done to rectify the problem? Any suggestions gratefully received.
Did you seal the chipboard 1st.
Why not share the steps as text on a webpage?
I just bought one of these and am trying to cut 3/8 " tile that has a rough face, not smooth, and it won't score it enough to snap it. Any tips?
Thanks for this great video. You mention that the adhesive is to level the floor or as a gap filler. If the floor is already level would you not just screw the HardieBacker Board straight Onto the flooring you have?
Thanks for your question! The tile adhesive is required to ensure the board is 100% adhered to the floor and also to help with floor deviation. The manufacturer warranty only applies if it's "glued and screwed" to the wall or floor. Hope this helps with your project!
Thank you for the quick response and for clarifying why we need it, Cheers!@@CTDTrade
Thanks for the video. Will do this on my fireplace. Want to change the look and install some leftover veneer stones
It took me a while to understand he is saying, "brown rawl plug." In the US we call them hollow-wall, or drywall anchors. It appears that the brown rawlplug is a 7mm anchor. Thanks for the video.
Always be careful as some steel frame houses only use 15-20mm edges while others use 30-50mm and they use diagonal braces rather than horizontal/vertical, so screwing wont always be an option even if preffered
Trying the settings for consumption control, do you know what’s the charge setting how many kWh it should be on? Thanks 😊
back butter?
Why isn't the backer board square? Sometimes the grid isn't in line with the board and when it is, the board itself isn't square. My board bought at Home Depot measures 69 3/4" diagonally one way and 70" the other. This creates issues when trying to lay out on the wall or make precision cuts.
Saturday morning for me .The floor is all over the place .Good clip .
Rubi It’s a garbage, the in accuracy it’s a massive problem
Zero assistance from your video. The power of speech should not be underestimated.
Weird how the dust his forced forward as if it’s running in reverse. 🫤
Ardex : I woudn’t touch this company with a barge pole. I Bought the WPC kit and the instruction were lacking so I phoned Ardex. They advised to use their P51 sealer on new plaster which I did at an additional cost of £54. The finished job looked good but when I scraped of a snot (small lump) I could see the WPC had not adhered to the plaster. Ardex then said I shouldn’t have used sealer ! and advised me to scrape it all off and re-do it. No admission to their wrong advice or even compensation for the materials let alone my time. 2 WPC kits and 1 P51 = £184. Ardex would not add this comment to one of their posted videos. The plaster had been done weeks prior to the wpc being applied.
Silicone no need to screw. It’s not coming down “ever”
On another Hardie backer video it says to leave a 3mm gap between the boards. Is that still the case?
Hi, thanks for your question. The manufacturer recommends leaving a 3mm gap between floor and wall edges, vanities, baths etc. You do not need to leave a gap between every board. Good luck with your project!
Do we still have to use the tape if there is no gap.
Hi, the tape should only be used where boards meet on the walls or floor. Do not tape the wall and floor boards together. Good luck!
Hi which is the tickness of reinfoce for a 180mm disc? Thanks
Hi Stefano, could you please clarify your enquiry? Are you asking about the thickness of tile that can be cut?
@@CTDTrade Hi thanks for your reply, no I was asking about the thickness of the blade closed to the disc bore. I mean, could you measure with a caliper the thickness and diameter of the higher part for the 180mm?
Hi Stefano. The thickness of the blade near the bore is 5mm. The diameter of this area is 54mm. Hope this helps with your project!
@@CTDTrade Thanks mate, I appreciate you help, bye 😊
Most walls are not as plumb as your wall so how can I fix backer board to my block wall that is wiberly woberly ahaha can I use bonding plaster to plumb it up first before using your method?
Hi! Thanks for your question. One option is a cement-based adhesive to make the wall somewhat plumb, as it can be put onto the wall thicker in places as long as it's got full coverage. Another option is to plaster the wall first - getting it as close to plumb as possible - then putting the HardieBacker board onto the wall. Hope this helps with your project!
if i put controller outaide bathroom and onky use cable sensor it will work same as i side bath
Can I put them over existing tiles
Hi, thank you for your question. Is your installation on wall or floor? Do you also know how the existing tiles were installed as this may affect the process?
@@CTDTrade wall tiles over plasterboard That was primed with sbr, thanks for the reply
Plasterboard can typically hold 32m2 of weight, so you would be over this by the time you add the HardieBacker boards and new tiles. The manufacturer recommends you remove the tiles to start again, and fix the HardieBacker boards to the structural substrate (i.e. timber studs or block work). Hope this helps with your project!
Idk why mine doesnt blow warm even when i set it to 35C
I don't get why there needs to be a gap between the cement board if your just going to fill it in with mortar, which seems to eliminate any benefit of a gap (to prevent swelling issues).
Hi! It is advised to leave a 3mm gap between floor and wall edges which should then be filled with a good quality bathroom sealant. It is not advised to leave a gap between the boards themselves. Good luck with your project!
How to place on a masonry, proceeds to place on a non masonry wall !
Id never destroy a wood floor
Mine refuse to connect to the server. What shall I do?
Hi Gaby. If you contact the manufacturer's support team they should be able to help with your issue. You can find the contact details here: www.nvent.com/en-gb/support/contact-us
How do you get capital letters in the Wi-Fi password? Thanks
Hi Timothy. You'll need to press the shift button (up arrow) in the top left part of the display. Hope this helps!
You say doesnt have to be flexible. But what about if it is a wooden floorboard?
Hi! The adhesive used to affix tiles to the backer board does not need to be flexible, this is not affected by the substrate under the board. Please note the boards must be fixed securely with no vertical movement before tiling begins. Hope this helps!
Good morning. Sorry i was referring to the adhesive used under the backer board. My subfloor is floorboards which i will be attaching the Hardie backerboards to. Can you please suggest an adhesive and whether it needs to be flexible or not? A link to the product would be great 👍
Hi! To affix the boards to a wooden substrate you would need to use a flexible powder adhesive. Here are some options for you: www.ctdtrade.co.uk/20kg-bal-rapid-set-one-tile-adhesive-white www.ctdtrade.co.uk/bal-flex-one-s1-tile-adhesive-white
@@CTDTrade perfect thank you 😀👍
Hello, I've used marine ply.. fo you not need to prime the floor 1st with a sealer? Thanks 🙂
Hi! For marine ply it's recommended to use an acrylic sealer like Weber PR360 or BAL APD. This can be viewed on our website here > www.ctdtrade.co.uk/5kg-weber-pr360-ibotac-primer It's also important to make sure there's absolutely no movement in the floor and it's as stable as possible as any movement could cause grout and tiles to crack. Hope this helps!
You make it look straight forward. But is the 6mm strong enough to hold 600x300 porcelain tiles or should I opt for 12mm
Hi! Yes, 6mm board will be strong enough to hold your tiles. Hope this helps!
Is 6mm ok for brick or should I use 12mm?
Hi Phil, you'll be able to use 6mm board for a brick wall. Just ensure the board is securely installed as indicated in the video. Let us know if you need any further assistance.
@@CTDTrade thanks Does the wall need to be level ? On a spirit level?
The wall does not need to be perfectly flat as this can be compensated for by adding more tile adhesive during application.
It's not a brick wall
IT IS DIFFICULT..LOL!!! You made it looked so easy. Ok, I will purchase a scoring tool and if doesn't work I'm going back to the beach to relax and pay a contractor to do the job for me for tiling. X
