Shad, Rock cod, Fishing Manaba
hello all, a big thank you to all the viewers who have subscribed to the channel, cheers... much appreciated. This video is at one of our favourite spots in Manaba. We managed a few stone bream, some shad and a little roc cod from the rocks. The spotted grunter in the river at psj. Full video of psj will be out soon.

Wind was pumping yesterday, another weekend of no fishing. It was nice to meet you guys Martin & Avi
@@NoodlesR6 good to meet you too..there will be a fishing gap in the weather soon..hopefully..👍
Beautiful...i miss home 😢
@@RomanGovender-mj1ed you had a lovely home..hope you still visit..👍
Uvongo pier South Africa Great fish spot for Shad also known as blue fish.
You reckon a garrick munched that shad's tail?
well done guys.Beautiful weather and amazing rocky spot. Please tell me why you do not keep a stone fish that has yellow spots.
Hi, the yellow spots on the skin are also visible in the flesh of the fish, sometimes much larger in the flesh than on the skin. I am not sure what causes it, perhaps a parasite? Or worse? I will fillet one and show you on a video sometime, I'm sure it's probably not harmful, many anglers keep them regardless. I noticed that some bronze bream have them to, maybe someone with more insight could give us clarity. If anyone knows please comment. Thanks for watching and the comment ..tight lines..👌👍
Lovely session , good stuff guys ..
Thanks Angler Alton, we appreciate your comment...tight lines👌
Another great video . What are those yellow spots , is it dangerous ?
Nex time go fetch your own fish
@@moseskruger691 stick to your day job, you don't do good comedy..60 isn't a good age to rock hop..
Lol Like a wildlife channel. Have you been catching fish? I got a small Cape Stumpnose yesterday but nothing today. Even the blacktail are shy
@@NoodlesR6 yup..a few fish..check out the videos...more on the way..we must do a fishing session sometime..👍👌
Lovely catches bru excellent video
@@user-zw8dc8mp2z thanks for watching..👌glad you enjoyed the video..tight lines!👍
Top stuff guys, I'm finally back from working in sasolburg and cant wait to fish, bronze bream and brusher are my favorite fish to target💯 good to see the smaller brusher are around soon the bigger ones will start moving up the coast..😁
@@ZubairKhan-jd5op enjoy your break at the water..we appreciate your comment, and happy hunting for that brusher ...tight lines!👌👍
Hi guys where are you fishing
@@dhevadasnaicker2831 hi..thanks for watching and the comment, we fish alo g the lower KZN south coast...tight lines!!
Really awesome catch but what AB did was extremely dangerous. No matter how big the fish is, his life is more precious. But really awesome catch at the end.
@@STELLAN25 thanks for watching, and the comment..fortunately the water wasn't too big..Avi is quite experienced along the waters edge...we also dive in this spot..always risky though...tight lines!!
@@finznscaleskzn1884 that’s really great news. I was just concerned when he slipped and slid down the rock
Great stuff manne❤❤❤Some hectic nervous moments in the end but thanks to guys who braved the waters and helping out a fisherman in need...❤❤❤❤Would love to see the catch clean and cook...CCC...3 CHEERS TO YOU 3 GUYS🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤👍👍👍😉😉😉

Where do you live
@@joshuarichter5403 Uvongo,on the KZN South Coast.
@@finznscaleskzn1884 I also live in SA. Eastern Cape, PE
@@joshuarichter5403 PE is great..my sister lives there..the eastern cape is a special place, lovely estuaries and rivers for some good fishing, I am originally from East London, enjoyed staying there too...tight lines 👍
Try zooming into the water like when you saw the garrick running & when the fisherman caught one
@@yusufrb1 Hello Yusuf..thanks for watching, and the comment, your observation is noted..the gopro camera is restricted when it comes to the zoom function...it can't zoom in unfortunately...the chases happen so fast and are difficult to capture on camera..your timing has to be just right at the moment of action...I may get lucky sometime..stay blessed and tight lines!!👍
Morning, another lekker video. I got my first garrick on a live shad off that corner when I was twelve years old. It was in the middle of the holiday season. We used to call the pier a "bamboo forest" in the holiday season because there was hardly any space to fish, lol. I would come from Nippers catch a shad and then put it out across the bay because there was no space in the front. My father "Clyde Sheppard" would be there to help coach me. Great memories. Thanks for the videos.
@@FishingwithClyde Hi Clyde, thanks for watching and commenting, we appreciate that you enjoy the videos and sharing your experiences fishing here, with us. It's school holiday at the moment,so most mornings on the pier, at the moment, are reminiscent of a bamboo plantation...especially when the shad are on the bite. We will definitely slide for a garrick on the Orange Rocks side soon..
Good day:) Loving the videos. Brings back memories. I grew up on the south coast in the 70/80s. I am now a fisherman in Norway. Tight lines🎣
@@FishingwithClyde Hi..thanks for watching..I love the Scandinavian country's..so beautiful, peaceful and cold..I'm sure you miss the subtropical weather too...stay blessed and tight lines..👌
@@finznscaleskzn1884 I miss the tropical scenery but not the hot summers. I have gotten used to the mild weather and in the winter you can just dress appropriately. We dont have the variety of game fish like the south coast but there is no shortage of fish here to catch. I look forward to watching more of your videos. Tight lines
Beautiful fucking view man. Say hello to the ocean for me.
Sure is..👌
It's a bumper sard season!
Lovely catch cook video do more of them, we want a garrick one now
Thank you, we will give the garrick a bash...it's been a while since I last landed one..👍👌 tight lines!
Just subscribed. Great channel.
Hi..we appreciate you watching..some good garrick, bronze bream and brusher catches coming up..🙏👍thanks and tight lines!
Very good catch and cook , thanks for sharing Guys.. I enjoyed it ❤
Hello Angler Alton..always good to hear from you..thanks for the kind words 🙏🙏👌
Awesome! Thanks for the videos. We're going to hold AV to his promise. Now on you guys need to start sliding those shad as live bait for a Garrick
Thanks for the comment Adrian..definitely need to put a few livies out..got a Brusher and good bream this morning close to your side..Avi will have to turn up the heat to catch up..tight lines 👌👍
@@finznscaleskzn1884 Nice! Brusher is still on my bucket list. My son takes my welding gloves and a torch at night and gets 30 ghost crabs for brusher bait. If you ever need ghost crabs gimmi a shout
😂❤❤❤dont feel shy boet you can use fingers to soak in the gravy or curry into the bread..and remove the small bones..small like how we use our fingers to indulge and dig into a bunny chow...just like crab ..utensils aside ..firm grip straight to the candy❤❤❤❤🎉😂😅❤
Another small tip bro..If you use a deeper pot preferably also little thicker cos these ingredients can burnt quiet fast in a pan or stainless utensils and most esp fish is relatively quiet fragile whilst cooking..so you can not really stir it around ..by using a deeper pot or pan with lid you can infact shake the pot around which mixes more adequately without breaking up fish and spices will blend in more evenly in❤❤❤
Hi boet..great recipe and guidance..❤❤❤but just one honest suggestion..99% of people dont put potatoes to esp fish curry ..it steals or robs the fish taste.or sucks in the spices and flavors.. .you can add boiled eggs and sum brinjals plus def more tamarin will do wonders to it ..plus AB might advise if he knows how to make hard porridge..guaranteed to lick ones fingers bro..thanks again for all ur fishing vids esp sardine run and whales and dolphin activity everyday...thanks to you and ur copilot ❤❤❤❤
Hi Ivan, hope the day finds you well and blessed with good health and many fish. Thanks very much for your comments and advice, they are much appreciated and noted, great guidance for the next one. Do you think I should use a fish masala or just chili powder with the spices? Definitely a bit more tamarind on the next one, and brinjal for sure 👌 boss you are absolutely correct..I was in there fingers and all! Avi also enjoyed it...he will be doing the pap sometime soon..stay blessed and tight lines..🙏
Thank you for sharing the recipe. I'm going to try it
It's a nice easy one..enjoy..👌
Top stuff guys🤙 i always wondered how to make pickled fish.. when im back in Durban and come visit the south coast for a holiday you guys must let me know which beaches to fish for nice bronze bream and other rock species👍 maybe we can fish together 👌
Thanks for the motivation..👍..absolutely, we can share some spots with you when you are visiting..👌
Where on the south coast is this
This is Orange Rocks Uvongo.

Thanks..much appreciated..👍
Good stuff Sir, pickled fish looks delicious, thanks for sharing , have to give it a try 🙏
Some good fish on the lower south coast at the moment, garrick have arrived. 👍👍
I was worried AB was going to have a heart attack :-D
Sards are at Orange Rocks now..birds going ape..AV very exited again...
@@finznscaleskzn1884 Sorry, AV, not AB.
Catch a helicopter 😂
Suggest you contact a fishmonger there
Am in Johannesburg
Please how can I get some of the sardines to buy
The netters do sell locally..not sure about JHB..you should visit the south coast for the sardine run and catch some yourself...the people have great fun catching them and very entertaining to watch..👌👍
Thanks for the update man👍👍👍❤❤❤
daaam - now I'm hungry. Looks good!
I love the girl in the pink cap, nice video
Set up a tripod on your balcony
Why is no one wearing an inflatable life jacket? You don’t even know you are wearing one they are so light and just pull cord to inflate if a rogue wave 🌊 or slip into the drink. Rock fishing 🎣 is dangerous. Play safe, have fun but make sure you go home.
Wish I was there
No sound bro
Check your device..sound is ok on mine..
I have to say the places you guys fish are beautiful also seems safe👌 when im done working in Sasolburg and back home in Durban i really like to come get a chalet and bring my family to stay and fish a few days on the south coast hopefully you guys will point me in the right direction especially for bronze bream and galjoen and other rock species even crayfish at night👍
Absolutely..many beautiful fishing spots and beaches..the south coast is a bit over fished, but still some good fish around..you just have to take the time to find them..the shad and garrick run are about to start..some big bream come out amongst the shad..tight lines!👍
