Sterling uses education as a force to address critical ecological problems caused by unlimited growth and consumption that is destroying the planet as we have known it. Our mission is to advance ecological thinking and action through affordable experiential learning that prepares people to be knowledgeable, skilled, and responsible leaders in the communities in which they live.
Sterling acknowledges that the land on which we gather-places now known as VT and KY-are the traditional and unceded territories of several indigenous peoples: the Abenaki in the North and the Shawnee, Cherokee, Chickasaw, and Osage people to the South. We also learn in-and-from a range of landscapes that belong to other indigenous peoples.
As we seek deep reciprocal relationships with nature, we respect and honor the place-based and cultural wisdom of indigenous ancestors and contemporaries. Words of acknowledgement and intention are just a first step. We must match them with acts of respect and repair.

I did a couple of course at HILLSDALE recently and hope to do more, as well!
I would like to know Iain's thoughts on Rudolph Steiner's ANTHROPOSOPHY? The Waldorf Education seems wonderful to me ..the original teaching's now proposed by people like Dr Douglas Gabriel ...he has a YT channel. I mention this due to the last question. Iain's work is so kind and thoughtful. I listen to every interview, knowing that I, too, have come to this way of thinking. I had a Western UK schooling which left me annihilated really. Now, at 62 my right brain has happily taken control and I engage with Nature and Flower Pressing and Beauty and Classical music even. I guess my Generation X upbringing was a little shaky but it lead me to the fertile grounds now available through listening to people like Iain and Douglas, mentioned above. A dawning awareness of the Kabbalah has also helped me. My rather cynical upbringing now finds itself renewed and cleansed through FAR MORE 'Moral' and kind acts. Thanks to all of you engaged in this devotional kind of conversation. It gives me great hope.

What a wonderful and unique opportunity for the students! I was raised on a family farm, self sufficient except for paper products and laundry detergent. I am so grateful for that experience and would not change a thing about it! Good Luck, Have Fun and keep on keepin' on!
