Not FD out here making me feel old as hell when he was talking about “when most of your parents were born in the early 1970s”… 😅 (My parents are boomers and I’m pretty sure Fiq and I are a similar age.)
interesting video to watch as a primarily metal and country fan, completely irrelevant to 85% of the songs I listen to but still an interesting topic.
Given America’s obsession with race, if someone is biracial with a black parent, you’ll most likely be considered Black. To the rest of the world however, you’re a person with mixed heritage.
To me, In a strictly technical sense, Eminem is a stand alone, a 1 of 1 and I think we’d be hard pressed to find a "lyricist" regardless of color, to come out after his rise that hasn’t been influenced by him in some way shape or form. Especially when we’re talking multisyllabic rhyme schemes. Obviously he wasn’t the first to do it but he definitely took it to a new level of mastery. I’d even go so far as to say that the only person even in that same realm at the time was 3 Stacks 👀…..I just find it crazy to discount that due to ethnicity
I loved this video, but MLK was not a socialist. I've seen white leftist invent a new term, Christian socialist... Ok... But MLK wrote his thoughts on Marx and socialism, and he wasn't a fan. By far and large MLK supported anyone who was uplifting our people. During his lifetime, that became the Democrat party.
Whats the problem with getting inspiration from all over the world? Metal and rock is still very big and selling out stadiums. There are good rap songs but it's getting booring and superficial.
Sad cus it really isnt(*shouldn't be) that complicated.
You have an unhealthy obsession with race.
"In my head, a man that looks like Derrick doing spoken word poetry is likely the devil" got me so good I had to pause and take a lap.
Em is trash...Van Ice was trash with a catchy beat.
How many edits were made to this to take out the name Stanley Kirk Burrell in an effort to Stop Hammer Time?
And I met kid and Play years ago decades ago at the boys & girls club the dark skin one was very bougie the light skin one was the one that was cool the dark skinned wouldn't act like he didn't want to sign no autographs😂😂
Kid n Play is exactly what u said a act 😂and a lot of people only know kid and Play for house party😂😂😂😂 I know them from back in the day cuz I'm 42
This opening is hilarious using that song lol

2:06:28 black men denegrating black women in the manosphere is trauma bonding. Like it or not there are some savage things going on in the dating sphere and the rhetoric for men is to shut up and take it. Manosphere gave a space for men to share those experiences. Whether they be lies or the truth to what actually happened. Women have that space regularly, women are rarely calling each other out for doing a guy wrong or telling a guy something off and when there are moments where that might happen they are known to lie about the experience altogether and somehow the man comes out even more guilty than ever. A lot of times when you hear about break-ups or bad dating experiences theres something wrong with the guy. Its never just, "i dont want to insult the man, hes not for me. God bless him and move on with the conversation." I dont really need the manosphere anymore, i excersiced those demons and im at peace with knowing im not what the black women i want want and have learned to leave them alone and distance myself from them. But we cant deny as men we dont have a space to tell dating woes and give support etc. I dont really care for the guy you are pushing. Of course he doesnt feel the need to talk bad about black women. Hes the man that a lot of black women want, in shape, seemingly in control, calm etc. Dude looks like he can star in a porn movie. We dont know enough about him to put him on a pedestal. Hes lucky enough to preach things he was able to try and prove in relationships because hes the kind of black man women want. Theres men out here not getting chances at all because our people and culture are stuck on whats "hip, and cool etc." and looking at the person second. Until he personally opens up about loser seasons in his life and shows he actually had to transform himself into a better person he isnt someone i would look to and im not looking to anyone in the manosphere either.
I like watching FD's videos cus it forces me to open my eyes & listen. I really want to believe I am free of prejudice & that I am free of this system that is at it's core racist. But deep down I know I'm not & that it's kinda impossible to be free of it. His videos really cause me to self reflect on those ugly & shitty truths deep inside of us all. To look at the world differently & think of things differently. It's hard to accept that I am ignorant & that I can at times be a part of the problem. But I accept that & try my best to remedy that in any small way I can.
Thanks for making this video
Longest jack arlow hatepiece ive ever seen🤣🤣

@FDSignifier At around 21:00 you start talking about the collaboration of rock and rap with stuff like Limp Bizkit, Insane Clown Posse and Rage Against the Machine, and the potential that had for racial and class solidarity. I was curious if you had any opinions on later attempts to blend the two genres like the albums Collision Course (with Jay-Z and Linkin Park) or Blakroc (with The Black Keys and a number of different rappers, most famously Mos Def and some members of Wu-Tang Clan and A Tribe Called Quest).
As a white guy, something about the "mf that's just Tuesday" ideology is a bit irritating because it feels like you're attacking somebody having moral and ethical struggles around their place in the world, and using your suffering to "one up" their internal turmoil. Especially since that suffering is the very thing the white person is struggling to come to terms with, it just feels needlessly confrontational to beat them around the head with it, punching down from the moral high ground. The very act of inviting the A vs B comparison between your suffering and my internal struggle (an argument that no white liberal in this position is trying to have, let alone win) establishes two sides, and thus two groups, with you as the in-group and me as the out-group, when I'm in turmoil specifically because I want to be on your side.
Random art/editing tip: If you move an object with a drop/cast shadow you should also move the shadow in parallax with the light source. This will give the effect more realistic lighting and illusion of depth. Essentially, shadows change based on where the light is being blocked so moving the subject changes how the shadow is cast. You can get a sense of this by pointing a flashlight at a wall and moving objects in front of it to see how the shadows elongate as you move away from the source.
This was a great video. Very refreshing
dude what's up with the race gate keeping, you making me feel dumb.
"We won't be able to stop this nonsense, but we WILL be able to understand it." My dude, that is ALL I am asking for at this point.
That's one of the best wrestling essays I've ever seen, great work. Btw, the whole thing about Vince having a clear fetish for black men play sexual characters go as recent as 2019 when poor Bobby Lashley was relegated with a gimmick about him showing off his oiled black muscles, specially his butt muscles, then afterwards becoming the "bull" to Rusev's then wife, Lana
I know I’m just coming to this 2yrs after it was posted - so this comment would be like yelling into an empty cave but as many issues of community and identity crash together in THIS plural democracy- as should be expected - figuring out where the moving lines are drawn currently is not that easy and as those lines move - as they should - it can be bewildering to some of us. Dave Chapelle clearly ignored the “black” Trans community because he had to - he was punching up - he was punching up at the white trans community (sad to acknowledge that as a thing but alas it is) as as a quasi stand-in for the “white” community as they are the most prominent Trans supporters. Comedy is by nature reductive and comedians and despots both hang out on the same playground. Sometimes they share material.
Nooc is a pejorative... or slur.... it is used to avoid addressing the argument and presupposes one's belief over another competing belief.... and at the same time disparages the target without first establishing a justification for such disparagement.
1:41:38 The thought that there's probably people out there who ACTUALLY like to listen to dudes talking about not washing their ass. Damn, life is wild! 🤣
this actually really spoke to me on a different level. as a native woman, my skin is fairly light, and I think underneath certain circumstances it can be easy to convince oneself that I'm "white-passing," even though I've had experiences where I felt like for numerous reasons I had my identity assumed and made fun of for it. My (white) mother constantly told me I was white-passing as a kid, but I think she meant when given the choice between white or black, she would assume "white but tan." That "But tan" part is something I see thrown onto a lot of people, like my clearly black cousin who my own grandma (my mother's mother in fact) What's worse is that I've felt unable to relate to a lot of racism stuff because it was only around the time I was watching this video where I was coming to terms with how untrustworthy my mom can be as a source of information. And everyone at my job and school would ask me if I was various shit (Asian, Mexican, Filipino) and some of the few white people I've made good friends with still joke about shit like me showing up with a shovel and digging their front yard away to "take my land back." I just let the shit slide bc I know they don't mean shit by it, and they know how fucked up things are. I'm not even from the land I live on now, I'm an Inuk living in the midwest. But my identity has been so frequently erased and ignored that it often gets left out of the conversation entirely. For a while I was really fucking with a more white-liberal outlook of calling things "problematic" before realizing how harmful it'd actually been to me. And these days I tend to stay away from mostly white-led leftist spaces because to be honest a lot of them still engage in the same shit, though, on a personal level, I still think they're good people. Just people I'd only want to interact with in public when my guard is already up, not the ones I get out my phone for when I'm supposed to be relaxing at home.
Ron Simmons has THE COOLEST voice in wrestling history
accurately characterizing African civilizations as both matriarchal and patriarchal while grouping European civilizations under one umbrella shows how much growth is still upon you young man
"What has that knowledge added to your life?" ...Pain.
I worked at the video store when it came out and I remember thinking, "Singleton is already having to do the straight to video market... damn..." I remember it looking like it was shot SO cheap, bad lighting, cinematography, etc.
I loveeeee Baby Boy! Me and my husband watched this over and over in our childhood! I didn’t know ppl didn’t like it lol
Is the lack of women rappers mentioned mostly because they didn't influenced much in this particular conversation? I genuinely wonder.
I think you're right. It can get toxic but there is also some good information for young women to decenter men and not waste their youth on chasing men. So many women are getting out of abusive relationships because of the information online. Use your discernment. If a creator is giving toxic red flags, stop watching.
I got three jars at the house. Each day I throw 20p inside one of them. Each jar is for something different. One day it could be the race war jar, the next could be the class war or the gender war. Living in the UK only thing I'm questioning is do I also add a forth one for a religious war?
God damn this shit is black!
