Dyson V12 Detect Slim | Disassembly
Disassembly of a Dyson V12 Detect Slim.
I haven't been able to find a video of the disassembly of this model. Finally I managed to open it, so I decided to take a video.
I found it quite difficult not to damage some of the plastic parts.

After 14 months my Dyson started having problems. You have to press the start button about 5 or 6 times before the vacuum would run continuously. I empty the dust bowl after every vacuuming session and I change the filter every month. No fault comments being received on the rear display. I called Dyson and they sent out a replacement motor assembly. Now 8 months on the same thing has happened again and Dyson are going to send out another assembly. With this no quibble replacement for a main Dyson part I can only assume there is a serious defect on this models motor assembly.
I got my replacement today. I asked them what if the problems comes back on the new unit? They didn’t have a answer for that.
😵😵😵😵😨
Hahaha,my main intention of watching this was to clean the inside but just realised I’ll be destroying it instead..

You should correct the video title to: How to disassemble Dyson V12 Detect Slim?
Just destroyed it not disassembled
Getting the hose wires back is fucking impossible, absolute shite design
What a shit construction from Dyson, not serviceable at all. Companies should be sued for creating such waste products.
L🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Mine was full of dust so I was searching how to take it apart for a deep clean. After watching this, I realized how complex and unserviceable this vac is. Luckily mine is still on warranty so I am hopping to replace the whole assembly. I am still puzzled why it’s gotten full of fine dust in the first place? I am washing filter regularly. Thank you for the video! Now I know that I will not be doing this disassembly.
Do you empty the bin after each use ?
I’m actually having the same issue. It’s saying the airway is blocked but nothing I can see. When I bang it against my hand a lot of fine powder comes out, but still saying blocked. This is the first Dyson I’ve had issues with. I have the slim detect v12
I solved this problem. This problem in three electrolytic capacitors on the driver's board
Hey, do you have an idea what's wrong with my V12? If I turn it on it will turn off again after a few seconds and there is no time shown on the screen. It takes around 14 times of turning it on and off untill I can use it without interruptions.
I came here with the same problem, it looks like we have to visit a dyson support
Mine too, the area behind the metal grid was shock full of very fine dust which was cloging the motor (the filter at the rear wasn't too much dirty). It's a design flaw
Same issue here
And they are saying they don‘t have replacement bodies, so I wanted to corn the inside myself. What a garbage design and waste of time and money

What a garbage design. Not made to be serviced. I dont think I want to work on Slim models. Thanks for the video. It saved me washing the cyclone with a PCB in it.
😂😂😂 garbage 😂😂😂 There is one simple reason why - because it's been desgined by english engineers 😂😂😂
Hi do you know what could be the issue : I have to press many time ON button to turn it ON
The push button could be damaged. I would remove the red button cap (23:30) and try to manually action the button by shorting both ends of the connector. If it works then it must be the button itself. You could try to clean it or replace it.
@@yoelplg thank you 🙏🏼 I’ll try and tell you ❤️
@@yoelplg ok so I removed the on/off button and even manually I have to keep pressing to make it work … I don’t know what could be the issue
@@Snowzor If I understand you correctly, do you have to press the button several times until you get it to turn on? Did you try to manually short the poles of the button?
@@yoelplg no, i have to keep my finger on the button to make it work when I release it stops
With compliments! Not a job for everyone.
ASMR para ingenieros. Iba a verlo por encima, pero al final me lo he comido entero
cool
