People say it is too slow, but I think the idea is that only 1 person can pour concrete and not 2 or 3 or more which makes it a great machine.

It is definitely not a cure-all. It is not a magic machine. It has a lot of flaws. And only a couple of good things. It is probably only best in certain situations for certain people. I have own mind for 2 months now and have used it on eight different jobs. The fastest that you will pour is one 80 lb. bag every minute and a half. And that's lightning fast. By lightning fast I mean you have to use a wetter than normal mix which makes it go faster, as well as never stopping- do not hit the stop or reverse button. Most of these jobs I did were 50 to 60 total bags. They were the 80 lb 5000 PSI quikrete bags. I have not used the 4000 PSI quikrete bags yet and I'm interested if maybe those are faster or not. But we do not stop pouring once we hit the on button. I keep very exact statistics on my machine. Most of the time it's one bag every minute and 45 seconds, but when we're humming it's one bag every minute and 30 seconds. I see no way possible to have it be any faster than that. That is lightning quick. Anybody who says that they do on bag of minute is probably lying. Especially the company. Again. I need to do a job with the 4000 lb psi bags, but as far as the $5,000 psi bags, absolutely not possible to go faster than one bag every minute and a half. So in the end I would definitely not recommend this for a homeowner or DIYer. It is not worth the cost at all. I have the chute extension as well as the hopper extension. In total after taxes mine came out to just under $4,000. Also, the mud mixer has a major flaw in that it is not a consistent mix, despite what everybody says. You'll constantly be readjusting the water pressure. The best thing to do is to tell the homeowner to not touch their water while you are pouring. Also try really hard to not use a well. Make sure they have solid PSI at their house. If the homeowner does dishes or does laundry or even flushes the toilet, it'll screw up your mix. Trust me, I know from experience and it is frustrating. In a barrel mixer, you can simply add more water if it's a little bit dry or add a little bit more mix. If it's too watery. You cannot do this with the mud mixer. Now the best part about this machine is that This machine is faster than a barrel mixer. Twice as fast. I find that I'm at about 3 to 3 and 1/2 minutes per bag with a barrel mixer. And that's total time mixing it as well as wheel barrowg it over. It also eliminates the need to have a wheelbarrow at most job sites as long as you can get your pallets of concrete close to where you're pouring. So if you want a mixer that will do it twice as fast but with poor consistency of the mix then this is your mixer. I would recommend this for contractors who do small concrete jobs. Again. It eliminates an entire man as well as the wheelbarrow step and it also allows you to screed while one man is loading. Another thing, this is definitely not a one-man machine if you want to do a great job with your concrete. If you don't care about the consistency of your mix, then go ahead and do it by yourself. But I guarantee you you'll have big problems every time you start and stop the machine. Trust me I know from experience. I'm actually not really loving my experience with it as more often than not, The water consistency is poor. This is a great machine if you do fences and you pour fence posts. Or if you do retaining walls. And again, it's great for a contractor who wants to double their speed with pouring. Also this is not any better on your back for lifting bags. The hopper extension makes it just as high as a barrel mixer. So you will have to lift your bag up and over into the hopper extension. It is the same amount of work and pain is putting it into a barrel mixer. In fact, I would argue it's actually easier to put in a barrel mixer that comes with a built-in knife inside the barrel mixer. As far as portability it is very heavy and while it does great on flat ground, it does terrible going downstairs due to the design. And that's another thing. Unless you are pouring on perfectly flat ground. Your water mix and consistency will be greatly messed up. You have to get a pallet and some plywood and level it out in order to have it mix perfectly. If your machine is not level on all four corners, your mix and consistency will be poor. I'm honestly not really liking this machine overall. The only reason I'm using it is because I can save money on smaller poor jobs where I can eliminate one man and get the job done twice as fast. Thus also eliminating double the wages for my other worker. Please please please if you are a diyer or homeowner, do not buy this machine. There's a great barrel mixer that they sell at Lowe's which comes with a spider stand and a built-in knife inside the barrel. I believe it's built by marshalltown which is a well-known concrete company. That thing is golden and great. Lowe's also sells an in-house design mixer that is even cheaper than the marshalltown mixer. I believe the marshalltown mixer is about 600 and the Lowe's in-house brand one is about $400. You can control the consistency of your mix. So much better with a barrel mixer than this machine.
