Heather Bornfeld has been practicing psychotherapy in the Bay Area for the past 20 years.
She received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology in 2000 and was licensed by the CA Board of Psychology in 2004. She completed doctoral and post-doctoral fellowships in neuropsychology at Laguna Honda and San Francisco General Hospitals and went on to work in the Over-60 Clinic at UCSF/Langley Porter before she started her private practice in 2007.
To her psychotherapy practice Heather also brings a personal love of the arts, particularly dance and theatre, as well as a profound regard for physical practice, and its connection to the body and mind. Her training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (Level 1), EMDR (Levels 2 + advanced seminars) and other integrative approaches to psychotherapy provide a framework for something she knows intuitively: that the body and the mind are one, and that living in and connecting from an integrated place are essential to well-being. She bring this, as well as a passion for social justice, a robust sense of humor, and deep well of compassion to her work.

    Interviewer kinda killed it… when you have a world-renowned expert on and you ask meaningful questions, you’re supposed to let them finish sharing their pointed thoughts not interrupt them to “redirect their communication back” or whatever but I appreciate the content nonetheless!     Amelia, ayer vi tu video donde nos ayudas a que hacer cuando nos despertamos a mitad de la noche y como recuperar el sueño, y sí, lo puse en práctica y volví a dormir. En este momento estoy haciendo estás 3 técnicas y me he sentido muy bien, sumamente relajada. Comprendiendo lo que tu nos enseñas que yo soy el mar y que las olas (problemas), van y vienen. Es en vano, que yo crea que yo soy las olas. Esto me ayuda a poder ver desde fuera, observar, pero no poner mis emociones en lo que pasará y que no durará. Gracias Amelia. 💕
