Thanks for posting this great material I guess..and not to sound sanctimonial, but IF CZcams is giving you some compensation for all the views, the Chapin family deserves a cut. I remember seeing this for sale as a VHS and wanting it, but not being able to afford it as a teenager. It wasn't terribly expensive back then, but I couldn't get it and sticks, and a metronome, etc. It looks like you're just giving away someone else's content that used to be for sale. I stopped watching after a minute or so, it just doesn't feel right.

Jim was a phenomenal player and teacher. He’s right up there along with Freddie Gruber; and Gruber was such a metaphorical presence in the drumming community!

I studied out of Chapin's book with Buddy Deppenschmidt. It put me through the ringer as well!

He has me so confused

Clear, uncomplicated, and no-nonsense. Great stuff.

Was Mr. Chapin blind? I notice he often looks out like a blind person does. Especially when he's playing and thinking. Great lesson

I still teach this stuff in my classes,also the books he wrote are so great,In 1948,the first book became biblical to jazz drummers.The independence is eye opening..A true genius of teaching..

I love how this entire presentation is a stream of consciousness exactly like what happens in my brain when I try to explain stuff It's just like totally compatible and it helps with learning SO much. This is a presentation for drummers for sure. Haha
