I deliver pizza on e-bikes This is why I have e-bikes and not a motorcycle I understand motorcycles are faster than bicycles But speed isn’t everything because people get killed in cars and trucks combined than people die on bicycles… Again speed is cool but my e-bikes can run red lights …no tickets ever…and I can easily…easily deliver pizza …easily..all day long baby

Great job young man. I am building my Ford Econoline RV Van right now and it will also have a sit-down shower with a composting toilet. boi, there are curtains Made to block out sun. Go get those for the layer that's close to the windows. most people use them in the bedroom. Don't use the thin ones or guess that it will work. Get the sun block out bedroom ones, and cut them to fit your van XD not only will it make it much darker inside, it will also block out some heat from the sun if it's too warm / insulate a little at winter

When I had a long body e350, my woodstove was at the back, and its because its small you dont get as much heat and have to keep feeding, doesnt matter if you use slower burning feed. I would heat when I was awake with the wood stove, but used a small heater like yours under your helmet there as I slept. Had 2 windows and a ceiling vent, so wasnt afraid to be unalived hahaha. When I went to a bigger wood stove to be able to burn larger amounts of wood, it heated me out of the van hahaha. Just too small a space. Eventually, I built out a uhaul truck. Cummins swapped. Used the larger wood stove in that one which was perfect inside size for the heat it put out. Right now I have a F550, and a 4 season camper with a pop top, and I have a small stove again, plumbed and puts out great heat, but using a small heater again to make up for when I am asleep again. In a few weeks will be selling the truck and camper to one of my sons. I have a 2023 E450 with a custom box, with side door, has a rear power lift gate. So will take rear roll door off and have a sliding door as the rear gate locks upward and protects 5/6 of the height of the rear opening. I'm going with gas for cooking, instead of electric this time, sink is utility sink from costco, still acquiring everything else. I will weld alum tubing inside to be able to take apart later too if need to rearrange or add additional bed frame. still doodling on my ipad. Trying to figure out how to pack and hide away fishing stuff, hunting stuff like bow and my 30-30. Ditching my Honda Africa, in favor of a electric bicycle, more exercise is a good thing haha.

I love your minimalist approach. Most of us take way too much. I can do a couple of days camping with about 70 litres and a tent strapped to the top. I want to reduce that though.

Ive been struggling with sleep systems myself I end up cold or uncomfortable.. I higher end insulated sleeping pad may greatly improve your comfort... Im just learning this after trying an amry MSS bag rated for -10c and still not being able to sleep well. I use a $20 walmart dome tent and have had no issues but for me I think its time to buck up and try the zenbivi bed with a Nemo quasar 3d pad.. Your cold is likely coming from below you.. I can ride for 12hrs plus no issues but if I dont sleep its going to get bad..

Long trip? To save cash, try stealth camping and use a camo tarp to help hide the tent and bike. National parks and state parks can be really expensive. It works wonders!

Over the years, I have gathered a lot of extra crap but great to see you being sensible about gear and the amount that needs to be taken. 🤟

Great content. You gained a sub. I have a Honda cbr500r. I suggest a flextail gear pump, helonox inflatable pillow, Stanley 2 cup cookset, and a snigpack jungle bag sleeping bag with insert for colder weather. And most of all a small compact chair. You can get one from Walmart for around 35 bucks. I highly recommend the chair. It comes in handy and in essential for a good rested up day after riding.

I have the same saddle bags, great for the price. Look into a bivi sack milspec you’ll get another 10 degrees on your sleeping bag.

500-650cc bikes are the sweet spot for power to weight. Once you throw gear on it can get weighty on a larger bike, and as they say "the bigger they are the harder they fall". Ive never understood riding such heavy bikes that are hard to wrangle if they get away from you. I myself am trying to build up my kit, i just got a used V-strom 650 with $2k worth of ADV upgrades/mods on it and hope to do a 1500 mile ride like you. Glad you show an economical gear set, I definitely didnt cheap out on the sleeping bag I have ($200) its rated for 25F but I would say it can handle lower in practice. It always good to consult people who have done real hiking trips for gear advice. thats how I chose the gear I already have and i havent been disappointed.

Good on you for the Doordash hustle. If I did this to make money, I'd invest in a large insulated tailbag. Certainly someone makes one specifically for this purpose.

I'm a huge fan of ultralight motorcycle camping, and I like your low rent Amazon gear philosophy. I have a G310GS baby ADV bike. I carry no panniers. Panniers and a rack add 20 pounds empty and they stick out the sides causing aerodynamic drag on the road and catching on trees and rocks off road. Instead, I have a 30 liter Givi waterproof roll top bag that I use as a tailbag for everyday riding - large tool roll, first aid kit, rain suit, etc. When camping, I use that bag for wet stuff (tent/hammock, rain fly, water jug, rain suit, etc.) and I attach a 66L roll top waterproof duffel on top for everything else. I like that the duffel is easily accessible while traveling in case I need the first aid kit or I want to fill the 32 ounce Hydroflask at lunch so I have a tasty beverage at dinner when I'm camping. I load the bags on the pillion and rear rack with the weight as low and toward the front as possible. I have a cheap Amazon imported rain suit that works very well but it packs large and it's heavy so I no longer carry it. Instead, I bought the deluxe seam sealed Dupont Tyvek suit with elastic cuffs and a hood. I do need to remove my boots one at a time to don the Tyvek suit, but even with the zippered legs on the actual motorcycle rain suit, I still had to remove my wet boots so the Tyvek suit is actually a bit faster and it rolls into a small and lightweight burrito. It's a bit flappy in the wind while riding but I don't ride highways much and it's tolerable.

You should look into a sleeping pad and wool blanket. Insulating yourself from the ground will make a huge difference in keeping warm at night. I have a cheap, small air-sleeping pad and a cheap wool blend blanket from sportsman's guide (used as a hand out blanket in emergencies) even that makes a big difference.

I didn't see a ground pad under the sleeping bag. That's essential if you want to stay warm (and more comfortable). You can lose more heat from the ground than you do from above since you flatten your sleeping bag when you're on it. If you have the room, you should pack an old army poncho and some paracord and a few tent stakes. It would suck to be stuck inside that tent if it rained all day but you could make a porch with it, and use it if your tent tears, and use it as a raincoat, and set it up quickly to be a cover over you while you put your tent and sleeping stuff together, keeping it all from getting wet.

Also I started off with a versys 300 and factory plastic panniers. Then switched to Nelson Riggs WP panniers, then givi trekkers. I started with those same pants after about two year I finally upgraded to klim Marrakesh pants. Also Carlsbad jacket I absolutely love it! I used the same style mount but it has a wireless charger! Good video!

I've had my Mountain Equipment down sleeping bag since 1990 and I still use it. As long as you keep them dry, down bags are superior in every way to synthetic.

Why be down on your bike? 50cc moped or 1250cc 'adventure' bike, doesn't matter, any two wheels can be used. Good video though, nice to see a minimalist approach.
