    You're definitely getting better quickly, as expected, though it's clearly time for a break! :D You'll be interested to know that Ann's algorithm is indeed very useful, but most interesting of all is that it's the same result as the clamshell move! The good news is that it may be helpful with your full solution videos since the clamshell move didn't quite make the canonical cut. Another interesting thing about it is that it doesn't matter if you start with a 180 in the long direction or the short direction, the result is the same. As for a physical 3x3x3x3, that is indeed the holy grail, but I am less optimistic for any sort of satisfying result by extending this puzzle. I think it may be possible to create, which is reason enough to attempt it, but I think rotations will be long and painful to perform. You'll also need to deal with 3 or 4 different piece types, and the printing cost will be frightening. I don't plan to work on it myself, but I encourage you to try if you feel so motivated. You're doing great. Keep going!

  • @MelindaGreen

    That was hilarious! I completely enjoyed your unboxing of Evie's cube. It was fun watching your understanding and physical skills build from zero. One thing you got stuck on was trying to undo a 180 degree twist without another 180 twist. That's because it's not possible, as Tim figured out since you need a way for the two halves to communicate. Actually you can do that with a gyro that puts the twisted face on the outside. I think you just confused the 180 twist with the clamshell move which can be undone with 3 canonical twists. So you set yourself on an impossible path but you learned a lot in the process. I like your game of making a single scrambling twist + rotations for the other person to solve. I suggest learning the gyro move and using that as freely as you do simple rotations. Solving such a scramble is very analogous to solving single random twists in MC4D in that you really want to figure out which face was twisted and then put that face into a helpful location. In MC4D, that means putting the face in the center, whereas in the 2x2x2x2 you want to put it on the outside. Anyway, you're doing great. I really like your 2-heads-better-than-one approach and hope you'll film and share more of your progress. Good luck!

      @MelindaGreen Před 3 lety

      @@intuneknitter4220 The gyro is essential and it's best not to avoid it unless you're going for speed. I suggest just 5 actual minutes of practicing moving any axis to the outside and I bet that will be the end of that.

      @@MelindaGreen So happy to see these comments here. Since then we have both become much better with gyro and in fact I partially noticed that it's similar to changing the view in MC4D. That makes perfect sense!

    It's not their business if you're already on hormones, for fuck's sake. I had an experience in a mental hospital where they roomed me with a woman because I "hadn't had the surgery yet". Luckily my parents convinced someone higher up to get me my own room, but it took a lot of work on their part because apparently it was their policy to pair pre-op trans people with people of their birth sex, even though I had long been legally male and on HRT before this happened.

    I think there's a distinction to be made between not deplatforming someone and letting them speak and giving them a platform just for the hell of it. A lot of people seem to be giving these people platforms just for the hell of it when they wouldn't do the same for, say, Anita Sarkeesian, and I don't see why. I don't think Spencer should be deplatformed - not at all- but I don't see the purpose in just randomly inviting him to speak all of the time either (unless the intent is to combat his ideas, and people could just do response videos to him like they normally do).

    I've had similar considerations about surgery, but obviously about changes the other way around- testosterone didn't take as much fat off of my hips and thighs as I thought it would, so I've thought of getting lipo to get a more masculine fat redistrubution in the future, but I probably wouldn't get that sort of surgery for a while until the full effect of hormones has set in. However, I've noticed that I've lost a lot of weight (and therefore a lot of fat on my hips) after starting a new diet, so even non-hormonal changes have helped with that, so maybe I won't need surgery. Like you, I want to minimize the amount of surgery I need, as would anyone I would imagine. Btw, have you ever thought of getting FFS? I feel really shitty saying this, but your nose is kind of the one thing that stands out as a masculine characteristic to me. Everything else (especially your voice, which I've noticed has actually become more feminine over time in your videos) about your appearance looks feminine to me. FFS would probably help a lot in making your face look more feminine and helping you pass more.

    • @intuneknitter4220
      @intuneknitter4220 Před 6 lety

      Matthew C. My nose is the way it is because they stuck tubes up it when I was really young. I had pneumonia as an infant so it got all screwed up from that. I've always wanted a nose job to correct that :)

      I'm glad you found my channel, and I'm glad I could offer some hope! After looking at what can go wrong with rhinoplasty, I've been debating whether the benefits would outweigh the risks. I think there's also the fact that I'm from eastern Europe that makes it a bit more "passable" to have a larger nose as a female! The surgery would be almost entirely cosmetic, and I don't think it would ultimately alleviate any dysphoria. What is funny, is that after being on shots and having a better balance of hormones, I've noticed that my face has feminized even more. That's why I'd advise anyone considering facial surgery to wait at least two years, because hormones can take a while to do their thing. And in my case, you can be "on hormones" but they aren't always configured in your body that is going to feminize you. (Sorry trans guys, don't know too much about whether this is the case with T) I'm also reconsidering whether breast augmentation will be something that I do. My boobs have really picked up speed since switching to shots!

    Nice to hear you're doing OK on hormones! Hope everything works out in terms of the digestive issues. And don't worry about the timing of sending the video file, though I'm looking forward to seeing your guest video! By the way, is electrolysis really painful? I'll probably have to get it when I get bottom surgery further down the line, and from what I've heard it sounds really unpleasant. I've had tons of needles now because of HRT so I'm used to that and don't really feel it, but I'm pretty sensitive to pain and touch in general .

    Hi. Can you further clarify your stance and what doctors say about this? I haven't seen anyone on a low dose T stating that they believe they can pick and choose their changes. It's more that if you are aiming for androgyny or to become more masculine, but you do not want to take it long term, it makes sense to start on a low dose as an attempt to make the change more gradual. I would imagine that yes, the most important factor here is DNA and how you personally react, but why wouldn't using a low dose make sense? Surely it cannot be true that any amount of T in your system has the exact same effects?

    • @intuneknitter4220
      @intuneknitter4220 Před 7 lety

      There are people who pick and choose effects. Milo Stewart is one. There are people who want beards but not body hair, you can do that. You get both. As for low dose, if you're going to self medicate, you need to know what your levels are. You have no idea how your body will metabolize the hormones. Any excess will just be excreted as waste. As for aiming for androgyny, how would you accomplish that? If you know anything about hormones, you know that starting hormones will lead to irreversible effects (breast growth on estrogen) and going off them will lead to other effects being reversed (fat distribution). There is no middle ground to transition to. You either masculinize or feminize. There is no driving the crazy train of hormones. You have to accept ALL of the changes. That's especially important for trans women going on estrogen because they will become sterile. There are trans guys who still can get pregnant, but it's not yet known if the long term exposure on T affects pregnancy.

    • @MabariCrunch
      @MabariCrunch Před 7 lety

      Hm I see. Thanks for elaborating. For example, if I were to go on T (which I'm 98% sure I won't but it is something I have thought about), my primary aim would be to have a lower voice. I would take T until I reached that point, likely between 1 - 3 months, and would stop once I reached a point I was comfortable with. I am fully aware of all the other changes that are likely to occur and which are likely to be permanent or not. The idea would be to have a more masculine/androgynous voice and appearance. Anything else would either be a bonus or something I could live with. For example, my body has already seen fit to grow facial hair so it's not like that isn't something I can deal with. I just assumed that for something like that, a low dose would make sense so the changes would likely be more gradual. But I suppose it would make just as much sense to take a "normal" dose. Either way, I'd still be stopping at some point.

    • @intuneknitter4220
      @intuneknitter4220 Před 7 lety

      I'd urge you not to take my advise but go see someone who deals with hormones. Be honest with them about what you want from them, and they can tell you way better than I can what you should do. Don't be disappointed if they don't give them to you. The thing is, do your homework. Don't just read blogs but read documents. I'll attach a good one here: apps.carleton.edu/campus/gsc/assets/hormones_FTM.pdf Specifically look at what T will and won't change.Best of luck to you :-)

      In Tune Knitter I think youre speaking out of turn here. While you are right that it is about blood levels, not dosage, that's nothing new. Anyone interested in low dose T is aware of this - we all get blood tested every 6 months, more often in the beginning. For instance, Britta, a popular nonbinary youtuber, has been on low dose T for a while now, they have a specific testosterone level that they aim for and adjust their dose to reach but not excede that level. It has been trial and error, but it is very possible. Secondly, doctors will most definitely prescribe T to nonbinary folks who don't want to be on it permanently or dont want all the effects. What happens in that case is a series of conversations about 1. What you want 2. What you don't want 3. What you will do if what you dont want happens (i.e. lets say you do not want facial hair, but you want everything else, are you willing to get hair removal,) 4. Is it worth taking that risk of having effects you don't want in order to have the effects you do want 5. Are you emotionally prepared for the changes you don't want, or the possibility that you might get changes you don't want and none of the changes you do want. I went through all of this with my therapist and Dr because my voice dysphoria was extremely bad, but i dont want facial hair. I was willing to accept that i might get facial hair (I did) in order to have a deep voice. Turns out, i don't mind having facial hair at all, in fact a lot of the time I don't even shave because im lazy. At 4 months on T i was happy with my voice and stopped T. That was well over a year ago and I'm still very happy with my HRT use. I've really benefited from short term T and have had zero ill effects from it. The point of all of this being that you're both right and wrong: yes there can be negative consequences of low dose T or short term T, but those consequences can be almost completely avoided with adequate information and guidance from health practioners. Please do not speak for AFAB nonbinary people, i understand you mean well, but really this whole video sounds like you're shitting on people. Like the tone of your voice when you say "It seems like it's just afab non binary people doing this" sounds very belittling, as if we arent trans enough to access HRT, or that we shouldnt transition because we dont want to "fully" transition. Yes, androgyny is very possible for those who want it, we start feminine, and masculinize to the extent that makes us androgynous. Im 1000000% sure its possible because im living proof.

    i know we had a chance to talk in more depth but we discussed this issue together and your right when they stole this whole identity thing from people like yourself it's depressing and i find it revileing to say the least but just remember you have support i loved our chat and would love to chat more just remember the most important thing is you doing you dont let anyone define who YOU are.
