    Adam Curtis' masterpiece on this can be found on BBC iPlayer of all places. When C19 first came to our attention we had no idea how lethal it was, how itmight be treated and so on so any decisions were understandably questionable in hindsight. However, 3 years on we know so much more, its origin etc and yet many things contraindicated by facts continue to be pushed by governments and mainstream media. We should be asking what is going on, but there is a deafening silence and denial.

    Really insightful points & a great introduction to the challenges we all face within business to drive sustainability - we’re all always so focused on implementing vanilla solutions that are known to us, rather than taking a step back to understand the constraints that our method of organisations put on our perception of “sustainable”.

    A very personal, harrowing account of a persecution lasting centuries against Jewish people of all Nationalities and I cannot understand how people can condemn others to the point of slaughter. This level of hatred is beyond reason yet today we still see this intolerance and bias against others. To persecute innocent people is inhuman and beyond comprehension and mankind has to hang its head in shame that this has happened and could happen again. We live a short life & need to focus on making it a happy life by helping & treating others with tolerance & respect. We must never forget the atrocities done to other's & the evil man is capable of doing to his brothers & sisters. Hope is eternal and let’s hope for the future generations to come a level of understanding & commitment to peace is paramount in the development of Society. Thank you for the personal reminiscences which are heartfelt & give the reader a deeper insight into the effects of oppression and show the great strengths & courage of so many good people who withstood the hardships & deprivations they had to endure.

    Very informative video! been listening to this in the background while driving a simulated version of Formula one cars in a F1 video game for PS4, very meditative and positive experience, hopefully we can solve the world's issues and problems with modern day and future technologies and AI technologies and we don't end up like the movie Elysium. We need to implement more fair systems with AI tech in a socialistic view for anti corruption as well as keeping everything in its balance and getting rid of surveillance capitalism since we are only feeding the monster that's been built by man not nature. I think we are smart enough to get our shit together, it's just a matter of how un-lazy you can be and how you can change positive talk and words into action. Therefore we see some good results and tackle each obstacle by one step at a time. Peace and blessings to all. I hope you have a good day. ✌️🙏🙌🤙❤️

    No, absurdity is believing Covid 19 is even real when the only 'evidence' that it is so is relying solely on 'data' and 'stats' on deaths/infections/vaccine uptake etc. Empty numbers supplied by governmental bodies are not proof, they're just numbers. The death rate has climbed rapidly however with the onset of ' covid vaccines'. I know this from hearing from a morgue worker who has noted a 5 fold increase in deaths in his area since the vaccine roll out began. This is a globally orchestrated genocide of the weak, old, and generally stupid. I admit, these categories of the human race are not the most efficient or productive for business and economy, but they're human beings all the same and should be allowed to live out their lives regardless of their use to the political elite. Either way, the whole global governance system needs to be torn down to fix this hypernormalization you speak of, because it's the policy of all countries at this stage it would appear, and without pausing, as a species, to ask questions about where we're going and what we want as long term goals, ie, surviving on this planet, we're going to have to do away with all these business minded assholes like yourselves, no offense, as humanity needs real compassion and simple truth and openness put first, not cold logic and economy. We're humans, each individual, not duplicate machines microchips waiting for out next number code command to obey and comply to, which is exactly what Covid is about, -training the population to react to numbers, stats. There is no physical pandemic, there IS a mental one though, it's called fear. I've not worn a mask this whole time, nor used hand sanitizers, and still shake people's hands and hug without hesitation, and always will, -fear has no power over me. Spread love every day people, smile and joke with people, appreciate the magic of life..this is the only way to undo the fear paralyzing society, by direct example ourselves. Like that old saying, let's be the change we want to see in the world.

      Hi David, great question - we've passed this on to Matthijs and Andy, and will post their reply back to you as soon as we have it.

    • @uolbusiness
      @uolbusiness Před 3 lety

      Hi David, Thank you for your question. No simple or straight-forward answer to that excellent question, but here a few thoughts in response! History has shown that technology has always had a major influence on human behaviour and an impact on the natural environment. The technologies that enabled the industrial age have resulted in consumer economies predominantly grounded upon fossil fuels. These technologies, along with a belief in never-ending growth, have led to our current climate crisis. Of course, technology has also had positive impacts in terms of advances in life expectancy, elimination of diseases etc. Perhaps we should be talking about the ‘responsible’ development and deployment of technologies - so that they contribute to overall planetary health rather than simply producing wealth for a narrow elite. AI is already a highly influential technology but there is plenty of evidence that it is not being deployed in responsible way. Rather than using the potential of AI, and the vast processing power of machine learning, to inform climate solutions it is still predominantly used as vehicle for wealth and power accumulation by shaping consumer and political choices. -Andy

    Trump is a result of populism not the other way around and far from being a product of right wing neo liberalism the movement is a result of left wing progressivism because populism is a counter revolution to globalism which pushes all left wing subversions upon the West to rot the core. Many populists were classical liberals such as me who understood the takeover and betrayal of the so called socialist parties which were supposed to represent the common man and the so called Conservative parties which were supposed to represent the national interest and preserve our way of life by the globalists and who now only represent the special interests of the corporate and financier elite. There is no left or right anymore, only globalism and populism and anyone who says otherwise is a pseudointellectual or disinformation agent.
