I bought 2 pirate ships last week - the Black Pearl and Queen Anne's Revenge. I'm nervous about it. Lol
Thank you
Thks a lot ! You help
"cussing them out never looking at them again" is exactly why im here 😂
Thank you! This is exactly what I needed. Straight to the point without all the useless commentary. Of course I want to use my good shop compressor for my airbrush! Who wants to buy another small compressor just for the airbrush. You would think this was rocket science from trying to research this before finding this video.
Thanks for the advice, very helpful on my first kit!
the use of transfer punches is brilliant and a game changer for me. Cost $12 from Harbor Freight. The bending pliers are made by Tamiya. They make the ones shown in the video, but they also make a mini pair that I find very helpful. Thanks for the video.
Muchas gracias, tus consejos me serán de ayuda, acabo de comprar uno de los más épicos. Pero compraré antes las herramientas que dices y modelos más sencillos para practicar, porque realmente lo quiero para exhibir en el librero
Wow, thank you, now i can hang a quilt that will be level
I am thinking of airbrushing some touch up porecelin paint for bathroom sink , bottom has some lines which I water sanded smooth. What do you think I had planned on doing remolding later thought this could be an interesting project what do you think
I did this. It worked perfectly!
Where can I find this?
Good tips!
Thanks Bob! Gonna try the Ford F-150!😁
Amazing... this is 'exactly' what I needed, and as someone else expressed, its videos like this that make youtube an invaluable resource. You saved me at least $300 and maybe even more. I'm going to connect my pancake compressor that I use in my garage for most things to an Airbrush .
thanks for the video will be starting some 3d model this week and checking out some tools that might or can be used
I finally got around to hanging up my quilt as you suggest - it worked great had to buy a pipe cutter to cut down the pipe, but we’ll worth it as this will be how I hang my larger quilts going forward.
thak you so much, exactly the video I was looking for
Functionally operates just as it should czcams.com/users/postUgkxiiMg_x4gIWeXMWfBnDdRnME4qJUAva4w holds pressure perfectly when not in use. Glad one of the other reviews pointed out that the bottom pressure release valve was open; thought it was defective at first.
Great!
Thank you for another tip for hanging our artwork
Hi! Thanks so much for the video! I really need help with the guitars...i have 3 of them 😮I bought 4 metal models of The Beatles instruments...started with the drum set...I almost tossed it out the window because I have jewelry tools, and could not get those little tabs to bend at all! I ended up having to use glue just to get them to stay. I never thought it would be so hard. I finally finished it after 3 months on and off. It doesn't look great, but I'm creating a stage with their instruments. Yesterday, I opened the guitar (John's), and was happy to see large pieces and only 1 sheet of the metal. I thought it would be a breeze. The first step was to put the strings on the guitar, but first put the riser on the neck. That thing refused to stay in. I used scotch tape to hold it in place, bent the tabs and they stayed. Gotta take a break from it because I'm doing other crafts.
What kind of metal is that?
フォッカーdr.1と言う戦闘機もありますよ!
リアルですね!😮
thanks, found this helpful!
Thank you, Bob. I appreciate you. I am a 72 year old woman. Soooo not handy. LOL I feel confident that I have all the info I need to get my quilt up on the wall.
Just ordered my first one and only just started and finding it very very difficult not for people that get annoyed east😂😂😂
Don't get discouraged... you are not alone. I went from beads to metal with jewelry, and yes, metal is different. BUT, if you try a few kits, and it's not your thing, there is nothing wrong with moving on. On the flip side, completing a kit is very rewarding, particularly when someone is AMAZED by the finished project. Good luck. Bluehole Bob.
Very useful. Thanks!
Is there a set of tools that has all you need anyone recommends ? I am just getting into this and am very excited friends!?
Hi Randall: Yes, there are tool sets that 3D metal kit sellers offer, usually a set of 3 tools. While this set is very basic, you could use it and add to your tools as time goes on. Jewelry tools are preferable to regular tools, like pliers, because they have a smooth face on the jaws of the tools. Welcome to the hobby, expect a few setbacks...and you will like it more as you learn the ins and outs. Bluehole Bob
How much did all these components cost?
When I bought them several years ago, everything was less than 20 bucks...today...?
How is the sleeve attached to the quilt? I’m assuming it’s just sewn through the fabric on the back of the quilt? Is that strong enough to support the weight?
Doug: I am not a quilter. :) However, my wife is and attaches sleeves to all of her quilts. It is invisible from the front and can easily support the weight of a hanging quilt. If you search CZcams, you will find lots of tutorials on attaching quilt sleeves.
@@blueholebob thanks.
This was very helpful, thank you!!
Glad I found this video because my frustration with both the F/A-18 and F-14 models is driving me crazy.
Mil gracias por compartir su experiencia
What annoys me is that when I catch the tab witch tweezers to twist it, I first bend it slightly and then I try to push it down with teezers to bend it flat to the surface 90 degrees. But when I do that I end up bending all the structures below it. Any hint for beginner?
You are right...not as easy as we think. There are 3 ways I overcome this issue. 1. Use your thumbnail to flatten the tab. 2. Use a small flat blade screwdriver to apply pressure without pressing hard enough to transfer pressure to other layers. 3. After a bit of practice, you can use thin-nose or chain-nose pliers by applying more pressure to the top of the tab than to the bottom layers. I use this technique most often when trying to flatten tabs sitting on top of a fragile layer.
5 years later and your video is still helping. Thank you.
Excelta is the best cutter
Maybe best, but very spendy ($58+). I still recommend Hakko. I have used them for years. They cut well, last a long time, and you can buy a 3 pack for $18
@@blueholebob it's the best I've used. I work for a very prominent aircraft company building wire harnesses.
Or weller
Thank you for this. I saw a metal earth star wars spreader and couldn't stop myself from buying it. Now I'm prepared for the build and I know what to expect.
Thanks for the informative video sir. I had the right idea but was planning (still am?) to put the air brush hose downstream from the big rubber hose I already had for filling tires, cleaning computers etc. But doing it this way would make more sense, for one thing it would keep the filter right side up. Not sure if this is necessary but maybe I should have thought of that. I'll have to sit a lot closer to the compressor than I wanted but the setup here looks like the best option for my needs.
Unintentional ASMR.
Thank you👍
That's genuine level thinking
Great vid. Thanks!
You can get an equivalent compressor, although NOT Porter Cable, at Harbor Freight for 69 dollars, at least in my area. That’s what I’m using, never had a problem.
So cool
Looking for tips on how to bend the metal right, so far I cant seem to get the metal around the punch dowels just right
If you are trying to form a typical cylinder, try to hold the piece with your thumb on the dowel (or transfer punch), then push the piece on both sides at once around the dowel. Cone shapes are more difficult, but I use a tapered tool, like a nail setter for the bend in the same manner. IMO, forming a round piece and getting the tabs secure is the most difficult bend in the metal model world.
@@blueholebob thank you so much for this info! Usually the trouble is trying to curve small or thin pieces so I will give this method a try. Thanks again!
Awesome video. Thanks. But, ... Not to nitpick but just fyi, that's a bass guitar.
Thank you so very much for this awesome video saved me from buying a cheap airbrush compressor and elimnated a lot of confussion on how to use a shop compressor for my airbrush.
Thought I'd finally finished one last night (the Wright brothers plane) and then ruined the tail wing joints at the end :(
