I am so happy for you to begin your journey. 30 days was an eternity to wait. Trust and beleive i watched all the videos i could to prepare myself 😂. The medication didnt give me any mental health issues. Honestly i was just to excited to start and everypill felt like i was getting closer to clear skin. My skin on my fave got like 5 shades darker than the rest of my body. My lips alos turned a shade of pink. However, this was se of the side effects i saw other black girls get when doing my research. It bothered me but also i knew it would go away after i was done with the medication. I didnt notice any weight gain however, i workout atleast 3 times a week so maybe this is why i didnt see much change there. Joints were sore but it was manageable. All in all go in it informed and not everyone gets the same side effects. It was not easy journey but very much worth it for me. Hello! First of all congrats on your accutane journey so far! It is not easy but so worth it. My skin returned to normal color about a month after i was off the medication! Just push through trust me it is worth it

I had seen a video where the guy used the baking soda to make it look like lime wash. Sadly mine didnt do much!

My derm said not to use any actives while on accutane. I just left it as is…it took about a month for my skin to get back to regular after accutane

Yes my skin immediately got darker and lips got super pink. It was like that for the whole time i was on accutane. But the skin reverts back to regular color after

Cant recall but i think for about 4 months i was taking 40mg in morning and 40 at night. I cant recall what the first and last month was.

Physical beauty is very fickle…its nice to have clear skin but when that was taken away with acne, it really shook me but i had to keep strong and stay hopeful. I guess i learnt nothing is parmanent… good or bad

I have acne pih on both sides of my forehead which looks grey black and patchy. I am really worried. I took 10 mg for 20 days and 20 mg for 15 days. I am still on my journey and my face is full of acne.

Hello, so I am assuming PIH is the hyperpigmentation. I am not sure if its the accutane that took care of it or it is a side benefit of taking accutane. I was told by my derm that the hyperpigmentation will go away once the accutane starts working (stopping new acne). Because your body will now focus some of its energy to curing the hyperpigmentation rather than dealing with new acne. I dont know if that makes any sense. I think this is what happened to me too. Once i was not gettinv new acne, the hyoerpigmentation from old a ne started fading faster as no new one was coming

@@twinaway yes I meant hyperpigmentation. Thank you for sharing this information with me. I am really scared about the hyperpigmentation, my forehead looks really uneven and patchy. I have these weird bumps on my forehead that are not like acne pretty much what you had in your month 1. When did they start clearing for you?

I honestly dont think there is anything much to stop it. I wore sunscreen everyday, avoided the sun as much as possible. However, the darkness only started fading when i stopped taking accutane

@@Maaseiahyah how long have you been on it? I had constipation the first few weeks but that went away eventually. It was no bad though, but i guess thats what caused the blood in the stool.

​@@twinaway For a month and about a week. Still constipated but does wonders for my SKIN! I'm just sad. Cause I may have to get off the drug 😔😔😔

Hi girl, you have taken the right step by going to the derm to cure the acne! Thats good! As for the accutane fixing hyper pigmentation. I cannot confirm if it’s the one that fixed that. I think what happened is, the accutane made me stop breaking out with new acne. Therefore, my skin had time to heal and eventually if you dont get new acne there are is no new hyperpigmentation. As for the old hyperpigmentation, as the skin shades over time that takes care of the old hyperpigmentation. With that, at the end of accutane journey it just turns out that the old hyperpigmentation has faded naturally and since you are not getting new acne the skin looks good. I hope that makes sense.
