I'm glad that there were black students in the video with the white students and they were integrated as friends because by this time segregation had just ended and many white people were still hostile to the idea of black students going to the same schools as white students

High school was a difficult time for me I was a foot shorter than the girls 40 lb overweight with crooked yellow teeth and a bad case of gas the ugliest girl in school would not give me the time of day so predictably I played with myself a lot and over time went blind

I was a high school sophomore in 1969. Small town in Northeast Oklahoma called Afton. I lived all of this! The music, dances, football games, high school band & of course the clothes. Then there was cheerleading & being the homecoming queen. Oh, to go back! Thanks for posting.

A little explanation- in 1969 the US Supreme Court ruled dress codes were unconstitutional- I forget why. So we could now grow our hair out, grow facial hair and wear shorts and t-shirts to school. We loved it.

i was only 1 year old in '69 (L.A. born and raised) but i love this old footage of "common folk" far more than anything about celebs or famous people. can't help but wonder, though, who in this clip is still alive and who isn't. i must add too, though, clips like this always make high school look considerably more fun than i ever remember it being (i went to 3 and never even graduated).

Zero fat kids and all pretty girls. Nowadays, mostly fat kids and completely unfeminine girls.

My mom was 21yrs to 22yrs old and my dad was 27yrs old to 28yrs old in 1969.

Back then they used a Super 8 camera didn't have the sound then but if you had a tape recorder you would some how have the lip sync with the film projector.

These kids were all born in early 50's. Good stuff except many of them would see a trip to Viet Nam in their future . Draft lottery was in December of 1969 and if you were unlucky enough to get a low number on the day of your birthday you'd be headed to Nam soon.
