A Musical for Competition at Uni

My friend Amy (the lovely female in this short skit) and I collaborated on a project together for a competition at school. This is a musical based on the Canadian gothic novel, Wacousta. The homoerotic relationship between Charles (the corpse) and Everad (the dandy grieving gentleman) is the focus of this video. :D Next video will be normal, I promise

Its crazy how in a movie called black panther that the revolutionary is a villian. Erik was a black american and it showed how africans see black americans as outsiders. Nakia when she goes to mbaku(the ape dude in the mountains) and tells him that an OUTSIDER sit on the throne after erik win fairly in ritual combat and becomes king. Erik was not an outsider he was wakandan she lie to mbaku to get his trust. Nakia only wanted to help other africans not the african americans
But the movie wasn't made by Africans. How can it "show how Africans see black Americans" if the production and writing comprises of mostly - if not only - Americans? I'd understand if your criticism is that it's problematic that Erik is the ONLY representation of black America, or even that Erik is a flat character (a point I disagree with but still respect), or that the film fixates too heavily on African royalty and thus devolves into classist understanding of anti-colonial or liberatory politics. But to claim to know how the entire continent of Africa - with all its diversity - views Americans, from a movie written and directed by African Americans... I mean, c'mon!
Just CHI-CHI just because its written by black americans doesnt mean that they cant inject certain point that reflect reality. Truth be told there are groups of africans that dont look at black americans as them. I have experience that myself so im not making what im saying up. Theres an word that some groups of africans call black americans now you most likely know the word they use, they call us acaataa(if im spelling it right) which is a negative word. So when erik comes home he is not welcomed. Once again thats why Nakia calls him an OUTSIDER that sits on the throne when she is talking to mbaku depite the fact that he is wakandan and won it in a fair fight

I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but I'm really glad for that noise. That whole bit made me laugh. I'm so glad you're talking about this! You're so, so spot-on about how everyone's all "be yourself" but the people who get celebrated still fit very very specific criteria. Sometimes when I'm feeling grrr with my body, I'm all 'Kara, why, stop it, dummy!' but then I realize how much I'm influenced by the media and stuff and I really can't blame my insecurities all on my own weakness.

Crazy about that book! The most challenging part for me in reading it was, not the content, but that I had to keep looking up words. I kept running into old-English phrases and nouns that would completely throw me, so I had to keep a dictationary next to me as I read it just to make sure that I fully understood all of the text. That being said, I hope they make a proper movie of this someday, because the recent adaptation looks really awful and strays too much from the book.
Rachel Tanner there is a French movie, but I haven't seen one in English yet.

I read "The Host" and I loved it. In my opinion it's really well written and it has nothing to do with Twilight Saga although it's about supernatural stuff. The begining is kinda messy but don't give up on the first pages, please, give it a try. I hope you like it :) I liked your amalgamation of things and I do hope that those two dates were the start of something good. :D
