I don't think one main character on this show was Colombian. Outside of The Navegante actor and The Colonel. Brazil ( Pablo), Argentine (Pacho), Portuguese (Chepe), Chilean (Pena), Mexican ( Gilberto Rodriguez), Venezuelan (Miguel Rodriguez), Swedish (Solceido) ,Spanish (Guillermo Mollineri) , Guatemalan (David Rodriguez), Mexican (Armado)
I like how he starts with"where r u from?" So that he will know if he is american or not because if he is he can't kill him which is because the series' maker was an American and he wanted to show his nation's power with fear in narcos' eyes.
Here's something I do not understand. Chepe didn't have to kill the guy - he was already getting out of the country clean - plane ticket in hand and bags already packed. an hour later he would 've been in the air flying back to Cali - so WHY did he shoot him? ...because a dead journalist draws more heat than a live one. Did he kill him to prevent him from publishing? ...OR did he kill him just 'cause the guy SNOBBED him? ("you came here to sell coke! - you're just a drug dealer!", etc) ??
That journalist had more balls than most on Narcos. He knew what a dangerous man Chepe was, and what he risked by going against him. Yet here, he's sitting across from him, recieving threats against his life if he won't comply. And he refuses to bow to Chepe and his demands, sticking to his principles. His pride and principles might have gotten him killed, but he showed so much courage in the face of death.
the poor sucker that got killed in this scene was inspired by Manuel de Dios Unanue, a cuban-gringo journalist that was killed on March 11, 1992 by alleged hitman Alejandro Wilson Mejia-Velez who was allegedly acting under orders of Jose Santacruz Londoño. By the way, Santacruz in Spanish can be translate as Holly cross
Lesson: Don't try to play yourself as a boy scout in front of a drug dealer. At the very least hear his proposal cause if he is offering you lots of money to get rid of a problem that is plan A. You really dont want to find out plan B.
Just to highlight how calculating Chepe was, he waited to shoot until the el train was passing so no one heard the shot. You can hear it at 2:56. Chepe scheduled the meeting to exactly when the el train would be passing and when he'd have the answer he needed. The only people that heard that shot were in the diner and immediately outside.
He would have made him a rich man, he should have taken the deal. He stood no chance against the cartel, I mean yeah it’s immoral to not accept the bribe but common…he knew what they do and he has seen the victims, wtf did he think was gonna happen?
2:55 the moment before he pulled the trigger, the sound of the train reminds me of the moment where Michael pulled the trigger and kill Sollozzo in Godfather. Also Chepe's laugh before shooting the guy is kind of funny but creepy
While I enjoyed season 3 of Narcos the quality and attention to detail dropped. Not sure why the felt it was important to have the sound of a casing hitting the floor after he stood up and shot the journalist at 3:05. Especially considering it's a revolver he's using and there would be no spent casings after firing.
The suit that the journalist was wearing is NOT for business.....that suit is really for Play! (Because its a tan color.) Suits that are for BUSINESS are gonna be: Black, Dark Blue, or Grey. If you have an office job and you're wearing a suit thats: White or Tan or Sky Blue....you most likely won't get sent home.....BUT, those are not really Business colors.... White, Tan, or Sky blue suits (or any suit of an unorthodox color e.g., Silver, or Brown, or Red, or Purple) are suits for PLAY (e.g., going to the nightclub & etc)
No speak Spanish
Javier Escuela from RDR series voice actor !
Chepe was my favorite character on the show
The journalist was a silly goose in that situation
If Chepe met Lalo Salamanca

Órale por pendejo.
The pen is mightier than the sword (but not a 45)
That cg blood was awful
Tu eres miserable!
Ти , който седна на мястото на другия педераст, си голям педераст!

Grande pepe rapazote orgulho dos portugueses
what's the model of that gun?

i dont think an article of a newspaper would change a thing
@@babalarassrahprobably not, but at least he tried to do something about it. Foolish maybe, but brave as fuck nonetheless
by far my favorite character from that show

He spotted him earlier and suspected he was listening in on his phone calls but thought he was just being paranoid
I thought freedom is bulletproof
He should of took the money
I like how they copied godfather with the train noise approaching in the back

Id have asked for a cool 5 mil and left the country for good
It’s funny how Chepe gets taken out to the jungle and is tortured to death in the end 😂😂😂

I see "kills journalist" and that by itself is worthy of a like
Fascist
I would have happily just taken the money and said, welp enjoy your life man, im about to enjoy mine!
He always gives folks a choice…they just always choose wrong
His arrogance cost his life
From some sources, I read if in real life actually it was Pacho who stayed in NYC from Cali Cartel
I always used to think that this chepe guy could’ve played an incredible pablo escobar role
He should have taken the money.
This actor is incredible and I love how they paid respect to the Godfather with the noise leading up to him shooting.
Dude reminds me of Niko Belic from GTA IV
Plata o plomo
Ha ha, he smoked that airhead fool real quick 😊
Conclusion,on how to survive in USA? Never go to america if you believe in freedom. Come to america to sell cocaine :)
He would have made him a rich man, he should have taken the deal. He stood no chance against the cartel, I mean yeah it’s immoral to not accept the bribe but common…he knew what they do and he has seen the victims, wtf did he think was gonna happen?
Pure stupidity killing him put them on The DEA's takedown list
His only chance was to beg for his life. Any amount of money would have led him deeper into the abyss.
صحفي مهاجر يريد ان يهاجم واحده من اقوى المافيات، هل المقاله ساعدتك!؟ هل اطفالك الايتام اهم ام مستقبلك… هذا الصحفي كان احمق

When he asked the journalist, how long does it take to get to the airport from here, he already plans his escape

Pêpê Rapazote is an amazing actor. He was great as Chepe
