Great video , I searched this (after I installed) stupid I know but let me tell you ! I had no instructions which I didn’t think I needed and I installed the 1.5 blocks backwards who know they weren’t the same height across lol or maybe just me ! I had a 50/50 shot to get right and the difference is insane grinding/ weird sound around 60 mph , I took apart inspected everything and realized I installed wrong make sure low side of block to front ! Saves you from having to do it twice like myself!!!!!!

Does anyone offer a lift for these trucks witch retains factory stance I'm not interested in leveling my truck as Im always hauling and towing so I want some rake... I can't seem to find a kit they are all stupid leveling lift kits 🤦

One more thing: pre-prime your oil & fuel filters by filling them w/ oil or fuel respectively - just like my heavy equipment diesel mechanic friend recommends. Still need to turn the key a few times, but not 10 - 20 times, so it’s easier on your pumps & motor. Something to consider.

Great vid Rick & great alternative to the HSM upper fuel filter kit. Main advantage I see w/ the SPE kit is that any issue w/ what was the upper filter now drops fuel on the ground instead of the motor (you may have seen the diesel geysers then engine fires from upper filter failures). Please just remember that the return line fitting is yet another potential failure point on our Powerstrokes. The return line disconnect fitting removal is counterintuitive, and the barbed fitting is very fragile (ask me how I know). Rick, I think I’m now sold on the SPE “all in one kit” system kit, instead of HSM’s separate kits for Upper filter & Lower water separator. Only thing i’ll do different is to use stainless hose clamps over the barbed connection fittings that SPE provides. Just a bit of old school insurance. Thanks for putting this vid together. I found it jest in time before buying HSM’s (inferior IMHO) separate Upper & Lower kits.

Well to be fair, you used a fiberglass hood instead of sticking with the factory aluminum one. Which, if you had an actual functional use for, I would understand. However, you literally have nothing that would have required the scooped hood. Sometimes you live and die by purely aesthetic “mods” lol.

Gotta make sure the hood is latched. I have had it fly up on me goin down the road. It happens

that crossmember is from B&W - it's not a Ford gooseneck, it's a B&W turnover ball aftermarket install. and yes, it's a pain - I was able to loosen the bracket when I replaced my shocks, but next time, I'll be cutting it at a 45 degree angle.

Hey thanks! I picked up a center console from the yard as my truck has nothing between the seats. The previous owners (RR inspection company) tore everything out to add a shitload of computers and RR crossing testing equipment. I found a new lower panel in my color at AutoNation Ford. I can't wait to get an armrest and a place to put my six cups of coffee. Lol Did you know you can fill the center up with ice and a 12 pack of beer, er, I mean Mountain Dew?!

I think they put mine together backwards. The small petcock on mine is towards the back, so it's extremely hard to get to when the filters are on

I did this for free by using all the stock parts, removing the rear shackle holders and bolting them back on opposite sides upside down. Got a much more supple ride with the same weight towing capacity and 4" lift. Free!! Just my labor!

And it's still running the engine sewage back into the filtered cold air intake contaminating all the parts right through to the combustion chamber. The worst thing it's contaminating is the very finely metered Air Fuel ratio which is to be the cleanest air to be mixed with the cleanest fuel possible. Why? Of course to give the best possible combustion possible. Why? To get the most HP possible and to get the best MPG. And to give the least amount of harmful emissions possible
