Sights & Sounds - A Sheep Hunt
In 2020, due to Canada-US border closures, my brother Cameron Foss @bowhuntercam seized the opportunity to finish a 20-year quest, taking his fourth and final species of North American wild sheep with a bow.
On the same trip, Landen Collins took his first ram after guiding over 80 success sheep hunts around the continent.
It was a hunt of a lifetime and I was lucky to tag along. These are the sights and sounds fully equipped with underwhelming production value and questionable hijinks throughout.

GEARING UP FOR THE MOUNTAINS WITH ADAM FOSS
zhlédnutí 9KPřed 3 lety
As backpack bowhunters, our obsession with gear will always border on fanatical. Whether packing for the hunt of a lifetime or just a weekend trip, being prepared can make the difference between cutting a tag or going home empty handed. The correct gear choices will keep you more comfortable, hunting harder and could even save your life. I was asked to put together a seminar for the Wild Sheep ...
Killing animals for fun is what sociopaths do.
I first saw your sitka video years ago with your brother...that got me hooked into hunting.......haven't looked back I have been to Mongolia tajikistan alaska..ect...thanks!
Good video dude
temp rating of your sleeping bags? I am a medium heat person while sleeping, as well, and I have a sea to summit ether xt insulated pad with a 3.2 r-value. for a Northern BC sheep bag during August, I'm looking for light and packable but something that will keep me warm if things get ugly. what sort of temp rating would you recommend based on your experience? thank you!
Hey Adam, Great video! Where did you get the back pack target from?
Thanks for the info Adam, curious as to who’s bino mount is that on your tripod.
Foss for the win.
Certainly got me thinking about why i do what i do, how i do it and what I carry after 42 years elk hunting in Colorado. Helpful info
Are you going to upload more videos?
Loved the enthusiasm on night 11! I can relate to that. But somehow, it's the hunts that were really tough that I remember the fondest. If you are the same, I guess you'll remember this one forever with smiles and warm feelings. Thanks for sharing.
Very nicely done , Adam. Had occasion to meet your Dad, Tom , one day out as his Alberta home. Nice to see that what he has a passion for has been handed down to his sons. My son , Mike , is pounding around the mountains of Arctic Red again too, and I’m sure would pass along hellos. Best wishes for these videos going forward. Count me in as subscribed. Ian Schroeder
where did you get that target from ??
Is there an easy way to get Hilleberg to Canada?
Best gear video yet! Very logical presentation.
Couldn’t agree more!!
Thanks Adam!! these tips are always welcome on any mountain hunt. greetings from Spain
Adam, I just have to say that I subscribed to you because of the Randy Newberg episode with your 1x sunglasses!! BRILLIANT!
Haha! Glad you picked that smart ass comment up!! Thanks for checking it out.
great job Mr Foss, I remember watching your "fortress of stone" video years ago and it really gave me the inspiration to lug my camera around on every hunting journey I take. I climbed that same hill with Reg Collingwoods guide school back in 2010, very beautiful place. thanks again bud.
What an awesome hunt, really enjoyed watching the small details that go into a sheep hunt. The filming was awesome. I have to ask, what camera did you use? Was it a combination of using a GoPro and a Sony camera? Thanks
Enjoyed your story and previous sheep video. Your style is easy to listen to and captivating. I'm hoping to have a similar shared life experience with my daughter sheep hunting in AK this summer. Thank you for past and looking forward to your future works.
Hey Paul thanks for the kind note. I am pretty fortunate to have been on a few adventures, some of them with some of my family and close friends. I hope you and your daughter have a most wonderful trip and please drop me a line on how it goes, I'd love to live vicariously through you two! Hunt hard, smile often and remember the in between moments -- AF
No kill shots..? Whats with that?
There's a time to film and there's a time to kill.
These guys are legit. A sheep hunter can relate to all these clips!!!! Awesome vid
Cam and Adam seem like neat guys! Landen seems ok too
All three are highly questionable but seem to know how to have fun at least.
What a nice young Lad Adam is!
Love this one!!! So cool to see the in between bits that go into a hunt
Thanks Noah!! Its the BTS look you maybe never wanted but got anyways! Plus no one holding a snowblower for wind and rain effects out there :) :) haha
Great video great gear 👊🏻
great perspectives and helping folks understand the medium realities of gear selection(s). Well done.
Great vid could give us a vid of the gear room. That’d be sweet!
Thanks so much for tossing this up. So much great info in this video.
Thanks Adam! You’re a pleasure to listen to, looking forward to hopefully more content. Would love to see some sheep hunts!
