      The Waismann Method utilizes standard sedation, similar to what one would experience during oral surgery. Despite patients being admitted for a period of 7 to 10 days, the actual detoxification process under anesthesia lasts only a couple of hours.

    @isellcrack3537 Před rokem

    what kind of anesthesia are you using (if it`s not a secret or smth like that)? Or maybe it contains several drugs? In particular I`m curious if it involves ketamine.

      @WaismannMethod Před rokem

      We use the same type of anesthesia commonly utilized in oral surgeries and colonoscopies to ensure the comfort and safety of the patients during the detox procedure. To provide the highest level of care, our assisted detox process is performed in a private ICU room under the supervision of a quadruple board-certified anesthesiologist. We do not use ketamine as part of our protocol.

    I’d give anything to be able to get this cure. I’ve already accepted that I’m a methadone life-er and I’ve never done a drop of heroin. I became dependent after 2 years seeing a “pain specialist”. I was very naive and thought listening to your doctors was the best thing to do. That doctor went to jail got his practice and license taken away and I’m left with a life long dependency. I’m trapped forever.

I alone take care of my brain damaged and paralyzed mother so I have to be alert and ready to save her life in the blink of an eye. I’ve done so 6 times already. I never sleep deeply and the sound of her breathing stopping wakes me up instantly. I just use enough methadone to keep the withdrawals away so I’m fully functional. No the Nalrexone/Vivitrol doesn't cause any withdrawal because it's not a narcotic and it just blocks the opiate receptors. The patient has the decision whether or not to take this medication and how long to take it. Some decide to take it for just a couple months and others for 1-2 years because they prefer to have a safety net.

    What happens if you stop taking naltrexone? I stopped taking methadone cold Turkey and I don't think I slept for 6 months. I could barely walk at thirty days in. I think this is fake and a money grab myself. Methadone gets in your bones, spinal fluid, and even your brain and for at least half year, every time you exert yourself you work some of these metabolites loose and you get dopesick all over again. Without somehow eliminating these poisons in your body is the only way you physically feel ok, in my opinion. I am 67 years old and shot dope for 45 years and been on methadone for 35 years. I am sick and tired of methadone. It feels like I'm taking 3 tylenol in my stomach.Not good.

    • @WaismannMethod
      @WaismannMethod Před 3 lety

      Naltrexone is not a narcotic like Suboxone. I do understand your hesitation about rapid detox. However, we have been detoxing patients from methadone for over 20 years. In fact, it's one of the top three drugs we most commonly detox since it is so hard to get off of without medical support. No one should have to stay on methadone for life. I'm happy to answer any questions for you.

    • @WaismannMethod
      @WaismannMethod Před 3 lety

      We help patients get through the physical withdrawal and provide medication for cravings. The therapist at the aftercare facility provides patients with an assessment of their emotional condition and recommends a treatment plan based on those needs. Addiction is often the result of repeatedly self-medicating distress. Therefore it is not something can be quickly fixed, but by being opioid free and emotionally present, the person can receive the proper treatment to address those emotional issues. Usually our patients receive therapy while continuing a productive schedule, like working.

      @@WaismannMethod yes i know. A treatment plan based on methadone or suboxone or nalaxone. Which you pay for daily and take until your addicted to that too. This video is inctedibly misleading. Your making addicts think they wont get withdrawal symptoms if they do this method. Which you know is not true. The cravings mean nothing. I crave donuts but if i dont eat them for a day i wont feel like puking, pooping Unconrtollabley , nose runing and yawning also unconrtrollabley every literal 5 minutes. And feel like my blood has been replaced with vix. While you shake n shiver in your own diareah. The problem addicts have is the PHYSICAL Withdrawal symptoms. Not the cravings! And big pharma wants us all to cut out the dealer and start buying from the government. I have personally tried EVERY legal METHOD out there. There is no hope for us addicts. We will be addicted to one thing or the other til we die.

      I can understand why you feel this way. Many of our patients feel very hopeless because they have tried rehabs, Suboxone, cold turkey and nothing has worked. Nalrexone or vivitrol is used to control cravings after detox but this medication is not habit forming. We never prescribe Suboxone or Methadone but those drugs eventually require another detox. Our patients leave completely free of opioids. Now, there is no such thing as a painless detox. We tell our patients that they will have withdrawal symptoms after the procedure. However, our patients are in a full service hospital and are kept as comfortable as is absolutely possible.

    This really made my heart happy!! Idk how much this costs, or if insurance will even HELP cover this procedure... But as someone that takes pain medication for different pains.. And have tried SO MANY times to go through detox on my own, it feels impossible... The pain is horrible.. It makes ppl want to die rather than feel that again... 8-9 years on pain medication. It's not that we dont want to get off them, we just physically can't. I'd do anything to be able to have this procedure done... God bless everyone trying to get any drug out of your system....

    There needs to be something better for treatment of long term chronic pain. And antidepressants that have a similar effect to opiates without the harmful things and bad addiction..definitely wishful thinking. There have been studies showing opiates working for unresponsive depression though, and none of the other treatments work. But in any case, taking these things off the market isn’t the answer for the millions who have debilitating pain everyday for things that will never go away or improve. Making it illegal in one place gives rise to dirty versions concocted in a basement somewhere..so instead of cutting it off there needs to be something else first. Something that actually works

      You are absolutely right. Each patient needs to receive individualized treatment for their conditions whether it's chronic pain, opioid addiction or mental health issues. A medication often isn't the only course of treatment necessary. Usually a combination of medication and therapy is more effective.

    I do want to say this method is amazing if and ONLY if you, yourself are ready. I regret not taking this amazing opportunity I had serious.... I only recommend if you are really ready and have aftercare plans. That's where I failed. I had no plans after the domus house, so I left for 8 days & returned home and with no plans it was a major problem and of course lead to relapse. I hope that this can help others that do get this amazing opportunity.

    Hi, Do you know what the hold up is for insurance companies to cover the procedure? Is it the risk? I understand there were some deaths from the procedure about 10 years ago. Do you think that is why? Have you made ANY progress for getting insurance to cover? How likely is it that they will cover it some day? I want to do this so bad. I've been on Medication Assisted Treatment for many years now and getting off has been nearly impossible. I'm a single dad and live with my folks. As a person with a prior criminal background from years ago so getting a great paying job is difficult. So affording a procedure like this is next to impossible. It's just out of reach for so many people that need it. Especially people on Medication Assisted Treatment. Many of these people have recovered. They have adapted to life WITHOUT abusing drugs but stuck taking methadone or suboxone every day because tapering is such a nightmare. Some people say it's a good thing that people are stuck taking these drugs FOREVER. I disagree. People can and do recover. They don't need the expense and side effects of a substance for the rest of their lives to function as normal people! Sorry... I'm on a tangent. I'm just irritated. Irritated at drug policy, the rehab system, the insurance companies.... the whole thing is broken. Please keep fighting for insurance. Please. I want off this stuff. More than you could ever know.

      We have been trying to get insurance coverage for a long time. The problem is that insurance considers drug addiction to be a behavioral health issue so they don't offer coverage for what we provide. In the future we hope it will change so more people in need can seek out appropriate medical care. It's not fair that so many are stuck taking maintenance drugs for years.

    • @JMT34237
      @JMT34237 Před 4 lety

      @@WaismannMethod It truly isn't. The other thing that is odd is that your procedure is often demonized. People are quick to dismiss it without knowing anything about it. They mention relapse. My retort is detox isn't treatment and shouldn't be thought of as such. If a person slips it could very well have to do with the actions that failed to take after detoxing. Recovery requires work and commitment. Blaming the people that got the drug out of your system doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I honestly think a facility that somehow combines medication assisted treatment and rapid detox would be genius. That way people could use the medication to curb cravings for a while, adapt to life, work on themselves and then when they feel they are ready do the procedure. If I win the lottery I'm starting my own facility. I've been dreaming about it for years. Someday... maybe.... ;-)

      @@JMT34237 The issue, is also that different places offer "rapid detox" as an overnight miracle when there is no such thing. False promises, lead to distrust, and that is happening often with clinics offering sedation-assisted opioid detox. Opioid use changes a number of different organs, and after detox patients need adequate inpatient care to safely start the regulation process. Chemical regulation will occur based on many factors, including age, DNA, pre-existing conditions, drug of choice and etc...
