I love a good car project. Usually Japanese performance cars. Content includes track days from my Legacy GTB, the subsequent single turbo conversion and my past Mazda Mk 1 Mx5 which cost me far too much! There is also past footage of a much loved Honda Civic Type R FN2.
The channel includes how-to videos and performance related subjects as I continue to upgrade (or fix) my cars.
The mx5 was my track car, but its gone now. The Subaru legacy is my performance car, sometimes the daily driver too. I've loved Subaru's since I was a teen so Subaru's will always be part of this channel. Hopefully on track.
I also review cars that i find interesting, or have ended up owning.
Content is edited by my friend Craig and filmed by myself Ben.

Behind the Scenes at Initial B - Donington
We thought for this video it might be fun just to share some of the behind the scenes footage from the last track day in May 2024.
For this track day, Ben took his MX-5 around Donington, whilst Craig walked around the track trying to get footage with his phone.
There haven't been many modifications to the car at this point it is fairly standard other than some upgraded brake pads and a better coolant tank.

For 100 pounds you can fit a basic but fully functional breather system and catch can to stop oil and water getting thrown back into the intake system and lowering the octane rating of the petrol. Looking really good, however don't you want more noise 🤔
@@scottsheard2281 it’s coming! Unfortunately the prototype I’ve got didn’t fit first time so waiting on the manufacturer
Or just leave the PCV connection alone and just connect the valve cover breathers to the catch can. It's only the oil that gets sucked into the engine under boost that matters, and that all comes from the valve cover breathers.
I installed the Moroso and have now done 4000 km throughout Europe with no problems whatsoever.
Awesome splitter!
Did the replacement today. Your video made is very straightforward. Many thanks for taking the time to post it. 👍

Hi mate,, nice video. How come my mini looks different in the engine bay. The air filter is different type and the oil filter is different location. Is the one you working on in the video a sport version?
@@spudo133 ah yeah this is the cooper S, in all honesty I didn’t think the non turbo version would be much different thanks for the info though
@@InitialB Fair enough. Well done video non the less. Yeah its different maybe its because the turbo needs a bigger intake.
Heater seats - on and off - no, the five stages are awesome! And I enjoy your review, but my NC2 with a Cobra race exhaust sonuds so much nicer - all MX5's need the stock exhaust replaced

how’s the drone with this setup?

will this method work with ANY subaru keyfob in the world for my 99 GT-B ?

I'm in need of some help to carry on a bit further with the disassembly of my 2015 Countryman I need to remove the radiator and fan assembly for repairs. Any assistance appreciated! I can't find any radiator removal videos on this model. The ones I've found have been on 2013 and earlier models, which are different from this.

Why would any man have pink calipers???
@@AquaStevae why would a man not?
great video, and really appreciate that you still reply to people after all this time! one Question though, it kinda looked like you still had the lower arms attached? I'm struggling to even get an offset spanner into the bolts, let alone a socket because the axle bulb is in the way.. is that just an angle thing on the vid? do you trhink you would have taken the lower arms off to swing out the hub?
Cheers man. I’m actually disappointed in myself on how I could have shown more. But this was early days. But, no I left the arms attached. What you see in the video is all I did. I think the socket I had is quite a thin walled socket .
Nice
Great video, nice editing i must say and i love the nc. Amazing!

Hello mate. Do you remember what size socket for the axle nut.
Sorry I don’t, Will be a 27,28 or 32. I know that’s not much help though sorry.
32mm for the E51 rear, need a deep one, but didnt need Extra deep. Going through it myself right now! seen a few methods for locking the axle in place while you turn it, but for me, putting the disc back on, then the caliper and using a screwdriver in the middle of the disc helped a lot..
I love these but do they do them with a manual gear box
No they don’t do a manual version, tbh, the auto suits it a lot though

Thank you very much for this excellent video! We wouldn't have done it on my mini Paceman (same front like the countryman) without it! Just a warning for others: if you have a JCW version, the turbocooler is way bigger and you'll need to remove the hole front bumper (the big metal part) and the turbocooler-holder on both sides, so the new pipes will fit. And like someone else wrote: you don't need to remove the headlights. Again, thank you so so much!
No worries, glad it was helpful
Nice! You sound like you from chez? Cheap mani on now free some cheap power up
Oof chesterfield, not a bad guess, not sure if I’m offended though lol. I’m from derby and Nottingham so abit of a mix. And yes got a nice mani in the shed but there’s a reason I can’t fit that yet
Do you have a full video series on this i have a twin turbo i want to convert to single turbo. Your videos are mind blowing and i want to try this please,,
Yes mate, all of them are numbered , part 1,2 etc. I’ve covered pretty much everything on this car so hope it’s helpful man!
i want to convert my twin turbo legacy GT Bh5 2001 model. to parallel is it possible plus parallel turbo instead of sequential.
Yeah that’s possible, there is a guide online that I’ve seen but I don’t recall what to do
Any idea if there is a headlight buzzer , if i forget to switch off the lights ?
I don’t remember it being a problem to leave the lights on, they’ll go off automatically if I remember correctly.
@@InitialB After how long ? I would like to test it
@@marshaldesilva2798 I thought they went off as soon as you turn the key off

Hmmmm, we could use that splitter on the performance Link Cammed 2.5 swap car we use for taking customers to get coffee lol 😜
I hope if that's pushing 400BHP that you got forced internals. Otherwise you're going to be looking at an entire rebuild very soon! Ask me how I know.
Yeah, it’s 408bhp. When I ran 360 it blew up. Now it’s a 2.1 stroker.
@@InitialB Not surprised. Non-forged parts don't like tons of power. ~325BHP is about your limit for EJ208's (stock).
Thanks for the vid. Nice car too! ...from a fellow mx5 owner....
Great looking wee car. Where did you source the splitter, duck tail etc?
The splitter and diffuser was from Bofi racing. And the spoiler is a company called miracle grp on eBay.
looks fire
Cheers man!
How is it holding up so far? I’ve been looking for a metal tank, but the DaveFab and Moroso one are pretty expensive but more used. How is the quality? Im a bit nervous when it comes to Ebay stuff that is not widely known.
It’s as good as new. Done a trackday and about 3000miles

This is 15 yrs old by now? Hows the rust on it?
One arch has a slight flake on the edge that’s been treated now and the arms are all crusty. But nothing else on the shell

I used my stock harness, there is a video on what wiring mods you need to do if you run the link ecu.
