Bab5 was a great show.

I think about this a lot. “God looks remarkably like us” humbles me in a way that I can only assume IS divine.

I miss this show so much and so many of the cast now passed to the great beyond I will cherish all the good memories they gave us all.

I have been thinking of that question alot. What, to me, is the emotional core of my faith? My answer is as Jesus hangs on the cross, he cries out "eloi, eloi, lama sabachthani"

The analogy at the end actually makes sense. "Truth is every word that flows from the mouth of God." Jesus said, "Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that flows from the mouth of God." Truth is that which is true. And everything God says is truth.

Season 5 had some really poor plotlines (the rouge telepath storyline was just a mess with no payoff) but it also had some of the best scenes and payoff moments in the series, especially for G'kar and Londo. Lochley was an underrated if not underused addition as well. I think season 5 gets too much hate, if you take out the Byron parts.

I must say one of the most beautiful things a woman you love can ask of you is simply to read to her.

I am a life long Star Trek fan. I grew up on TOS but DS9 is my favorite. DS9 was heavily inspired by Babylon 5. The exceptional writing and acting on B5, made it one of the best SciFi series ever! It is scenes like this one that made G'Kar my favorite character from B5!

My goodness! G'kar actually had a good point! Sometimes we have to help provide that light. As a Church Chorister that's my duty according to the Chorister's Prayer.

Here we are, years later and I'm in absolute bits all over again...

Most folks who want to sit and "learn" at the feet of a spiritual master are looking for a shortcut to enlightenment. Enlightenment requires real work and can't just be found in the pages of a book. For those wondering why Delenn looks so different in the pilot, Delenn was originally supposed to be a male Minbari who became female as part of the transformation between season 1 and 2. JMS mentions it in his commentary at the time and later on Twitter, even saying that Delenn was meant to be transgender. He even seems to wish he'd been able to cast a trans actress for the role. "the plan was to turn Delenn from male to female in "Chrysalis," in my original plans, as well as making her half-human. And yes, it would've had one hell of an impact...but my concern when I made that decision not do do this back in the pilot was based on the reality that we couldn't do it well. The "male" voice, altered by computer-enhancement, just sounded REAL bogus; we couldn't get it right, and I had to decide between dropping it, and doing something the people would rightly describe as lame all season, just for one big payoff. It was a tough call, but it had to be made." My mom is 67 years old this year and has been going to the same church most of her life. It is....a funny little church; preaching that only THEIR denomination is the true one, that all the women have to wear dresses, that tv and the internet are tools of the world and the devil.....among other things. But, this year there's been some scandals that have rocked that church from top to bottom and I'm having conversations now with her that...I NEVER hoped to have with her about Truth, God, and what it really means to have some form of faith. I'm pretty damn proud of her. In the midst of these conversations she asked aloud, "what is God, really?" and, with a great deal of effort and a little alteration of the source, I quoted this to her....she really liked it. Thanks, G'kar.

Yes, as 6.02 x 10^23 commenters have said, the idea of "star stuff" was originally Carl Sagan's line, and later used by Neil deGrasse Tyson. The genius of JMS and Babylon 5 is in believing that there is something or someone (even in the earth year 2258!) that still found Sagan/NdGT's thoughts worthy of sharing.

Stephen's "What can you do?" gesture and smile at the end always makes me giggle. :)

Although the character of G'Kar did not start out that way, in the end, he was the wisest of them all... To all those who helped bring this story to life and that we have lost along the way here I TY...
