When I lived in Baleal 15 years ago there were not many tourist who were allowed to surf places like Gigi's, Almagreira and Secrets. Have seen beginners paddle out on a soft top at Lagide which would have been nearly impossible back in the days. The infrastructure has changed so much. A lot of new houses, etc. Might be good for the economy but pretty much destroyed the charme and the beauty of this place. For me its the European version of Bali.
