Sitkans staying sane at the round-about: The Sitka Alaska Rally to Restore Sanity was registered with the national event, joining in as a community of "reasonable" people. A good local showing! Jon Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity and Stephen Colbert's March to Keep Fear Alive drew almost 250000 people to the National Mall in Washington DC.

A quick clip, Alaska Day 2010. This parade is part of a celebration of the "transfer" of Alaska from Russia to the U.S. In 1867. Besides marching bands, politicians and a Yupik dance group, this year's participants included a humpback whale and "Patriots for Peace."

A trailer from created before the final edit. Eating Alaska is a fun and serious quest for the right thing to eat on the last frontier. It is an hour long journey that from a cooking class with vegans to women hunting to teens in a arctic village talking moose meat. It is a wry journey into the daily choices we make and what's on our plate.

Ramona is Great! Thanks for the tour. I am looking into getting one because I love that its easy to drive. But I gotta know, can you use your toilet indoors at night with the bed pulled out? Seems there would not be enough floor room.

I got the smallest diesel heater I could find for my transit connect. It is pretty awesome in comparison the the Mr. Buddy. You have a lot more control over how much heat it puts out. Plus you can run it all night long. That said, if it isn't near zero outside then I still often have to leave the windows cracked and the vent on in order for it to not get too hot inside. However, at least it is doable. With the Mr. Buddy I simply couldn't leave that on for more than 10 minutes at a time. It would just roast you. Btw, I recommend getting rain guards for the windows. You can leave the windows cracked and rain won't get in. The ones I got had 3M tape. I've had them for 3 years now and they are still stuck on there as good as the first day.
