When you think of American automotive opulence, it's impossible to overlook the Cadillac Coupe de Ville. Imagine a yacht, then shrink it to the size of a road-going vehicle, and you've essentially got the Cadillac Coupe de Ville. This is the car that defined an era of luxurious excess, the car that screamed "I've arrived" before you even stepped out of it. Let's start with the looks because, believe me, you couldn't miss it even if you tried.

czcams.com/channels/fwYQGIw7o7DGbQ78C3vCNQ.html In the annals of automotive history, there are cars that turn heads and then there are cars that rewrite the rule book. The Dodge Charger Daytona is firmly in the latter category. Emerging in 1969, this was Mopar's way of sticking it to the competition, not with a subtle nudge, but with a walloping great punch in the face. First off, let's address...

Introduced in 1965, this is the automotive equivalent of a heavyweight boxer dressed in a tuxedo. The Gran Sport is what happens when you mix equal parts brawn and sophistication and put them on four wheels. Let's star...

This car has more character in its chrome-trimmed pinky finger than most modern vehicles can dream of. Introduced in the early 1950s, the Savoy was Plymouth's way of saying, "We don't just make muscle cars; we make road ...

It was introduced in 1967 by Ford's upscale brand, Mercury, as a more refined, sophisticated sibling to the Ford Mustang. Think of it as the James Bond of muscle cars - it could k...

Cadillacs have always been a beautiful classy car . The street I grew up on back in the day my neighbor had a Cadillac and she only drove Cadillacs and nothing else. Every year she bought a brand new one. I left home when I turned 17 and that same neighbor was still driving new Cadillacs. They are some kind of a great classic for sure . Classy and Elegant !!
My parents bought the 1st ones in 60--I thought it was underpowered &ad the 2 speed powerglide transmission at 55 mph you had no passing gear as it was out of range for low gear ???
Uh, your pictures are depicting numerous other makes and models. You might want somebody besides AI checking your stuff...
I owned a 1969 GS Stage-1, yellow in color and black vinyl, 4-spd, and 345-hp... best car I ever owned.
REAL Trucks Don't wear bowties 👎
NOT A MUSCLE CAR
The 56 and 57 were the best looking C1's.
The Comet was commissioned to be a Edsel Comet for 1960
Ah, the Mercury Comet, originally destined to be an Edsel Comet for 1960. Funny how the twists and turns of automotive history work out, isn’t it? From Edsel's shadow to Mercury’s star - talk about a plot twist!
I drove a '66 Polara wagon in high school, 383...too fast for kids. It was a former nuns convent grocery getter!
Ah, the '66 Polara wagon with a 383 - you drove a proper land rocket in high school! And to think it started its life as a nun's grocery getter. From holy errands to unholy speed - that’s a transformation worthy of a movie. Too fast for kids? Absolutely. But what a heavenly way to raise a little hell!
I raced a Duster yrs ago and I had a 351 Windsor in my Ford Montego well the cops screwed that up.🤣 The Duster was straight sleeper🤘🏼
Ah, racing a Plymouth Duster - now that's a proper tale! A 351 Windsor in a Ford Montego? That’s the stuff of legends. But of course, the cops had to play spoilsport. The Duster as a straight sleeper? Absolutely brilliant. Rock on! 🤘🏼🤣
I had a79 Ranchero GT that was great. My son needed something fixed on his Isuzu Amigo and so I had him trade me so he can drive to classes. He called me and said he had never driven a car before that the gas gauge moved as he was driving down the road! It was a hungry beast!!
Ah, the '79 Ranchero GT - a true classic! Trading it for an Isuzu Amigo, now that's a fatherly sacrifice. Your son's reaction is priceless - a gas gauge that moves while driving, classic muscle car thirst! That Ranchero was definitely a hungry beast. Cheers to the joys and quirks of owning a proper gas-guzzler!
Maybe you should teach the AI to pronounce Auto Icons.
Ah, teaching the AI to pronounce Auto Icons - a brilliant idea! We’ll see if we can upgrade its vocabulary from "robotic monotone" to "enthusiastic car enthusiast." Thanks for the suggestion!
Saturn V successor to the V2.
Ah, the Ford Ranchero - often mistaken for a Saturn V rocket on wheels. Successor to the V2? Not quite, but it certainly had enough power to feel like it! Cheers to driving a true beast!
Cool video thanks
Glad you enjoyed the video! The Ford Ranchero is a classic that always deserves the spotlight. Thanks for watching!
JAVELIN AMX
Ah, the Javelin AMX - now there's a true muscle car legend! Glad to see it’s getting the recognition it deserves. Cheers!
Had one when it was 7 years old, modified 340, lumpy cam, double pumper carb and headers. Fast car.
Ah, the Plymouth Duster - a proper beast in its heyday. A modified 340 with a lumpy cam, double pumper carb, and headers? Sounds like a symphony of horsepower! Bet it was a blast to drive and left everything else in the dust. Fast car, indeed!
Gnarliest car I was ever in; .my uncle Mathew's built 340 (345) '72 Swinger. Single 4 barrel carb, 4 speed and av. Gass. 600 hp and 480 lb of torque with a brass rad' from a big block AC station wagon.
Great car! I still have my 72 340 four speed in TB3 Basin Street blue.
@@auto_icons I bought it modified, it apparently hit mid 10's on the drag strip. That was rumour. It was the fastest car I ever had but I never got my big block in my 66 Beaumont convertible. Americas would call it a Chevelle. lol
Great vid!!!! 🤜🤛
Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed it! The AMC Javelin truly is a gem, isn't it? 🤜🤛
@@auto_icons 👍
1967 Dodge RT
Ah, the 1967 Dodge Coronet R/T - an absolute classic! A muscle car that could make your heart race just by looking at it. Pure automotive brilliance!
I like these better without the robot narrators ...
Ah, the Ford Torino - a classic beauty that deserves more than just a robotic monotone. I'll see if we can upgrade our narrator from "robot" to "actual human with a pulse." Thanks for the feedback!
I a-gree, with, your, sentiment... in this... matter.
These videos are nice but ypu have to show more interiors
Ah, the AMC AMX - a true classic inside and out. You're absolutely right; those interiors deserve their moment in the spotlight. We'll make sure to give you a better look next time. Thanks for the tip!
Polara was good. It rode smoothly. 1970 was seemingly the finest model year.
Ah, the 1970 Dodge Polara - a smooth operator, indeed. That year really did hit the sweet spot, didn't it? A true masterpiece of automotive comfort and style. Cheers to the golden age of motoring!
Don't you have anyone on staff who can read English? Great cars. Terrible narration!
Ah, the Ford Galaxie - an icon that deserves eloquence, not the verbal equivalent of a drunk parrot. Apologies for our AI's tragic attempt at English. We’ll enroll it in some night classes immediately. Thanks for enduring the comedy of errors! Cheers!
I have mine luxury package in black three inches lift and 37” mud tires. Never ever let me down anywhere. Went through mud, puddles with ice like nothing,
Ah, a black Hummer H2 with a luxury package, a three-inch lift, and 37” mud tires - sounds like a beast that laughs in the face of terrain. Mud, ice, puddles - it’s like a walk in the park for this monster. Glad to hear it’s never let you down. That’s the spirit of a true off-roader! Cheers!
@@auto_icons yes trully it was like a ride in the park, no effort at all for the engine in those woods and hills upstate New York
Back in 1969, one of our cruising buddies, at Hermosa Beach California, had a 68 GTX,, red black vinyl top, black interior pistol grip, 426 hemi, Crager's, huge big fat tires in the back, a low geared posi,, on freaking believable fast,, it was damn near pull the front end off the ground...
Ah, Hermosa Beach in '69 - what a scene! A '68 GTX with a 426 Hemi and all the trimmings? That’s the stuff of legends. With Crager's and those massive rear tires, it sounds like it could practically lift off like a rocket. Absolutely mind-blowing. Those were the days when cars weren’t just driven; they were unleashed. Bloody brilliant!
A Javelin could move briskly. Good way to win a race. Iowa state troopers watched for a Jav to go whipping down I 80.
Ah, the AMC Javelin - a car that could outrun just about anything, including the local constabulary. It’s no wonder Iowa state troopers had their eyes peeled for a Javelin zipping down I-80. A proper muscle car that could leave the competition - and a few flashing lights - in the dust. Brilliant!
More power strikes again awesome
Ah, the Dodge Polara - proof that when it comes to muscle cars, you can never have too much power. It's like Dodge saw the "More Power" trend and said, "Hold my beer." Awesome, indeed!
Another fake ass AI video.
I've noticed not just the Javelin but AMC cars in general are not well represented in classic car gatherings. They were great cars & their relative rareness, you'd think you'd see one once in a while.
Ah, the AMC Javelin - a true underdog in the classic car world. You're right, AMC cars don’t get the spotlight they deserve at gatherings. Maybe it’s because their rareness makes them the hidden gems of automotive history. But for those in the know, spotting one is like finding buried treasure. Cheers to appreciating the unsung heroes of the car world!
I HAVE A 68 I'M FIXING UP RIGHT NOW
Ah, a '68 Javelin, you say? Marvelous! You're diving into the deep end of classic car restoration. Just remember, the more you fix it up, the more it’ll remind you why it was rare in the first place. Best of luck - and don’t worry, those extra parts left over at the end are just AMC’s way of saying, “Good job!”
As a teen I wanted one of these SO BAD. They fail to mention the biggest problem with the car. It came with the option of the 440 hurst trac pack. Which under hard acceleration would throw a timing chain like it was a piece of string. You ended up having to convert it over to timing gears. But it did make a very nice whine just like it had a supercharger
Ah, the Plymouth GTX - the teenage dream car that could also double as a master class in mechanical headaches. That 440 Hurst Trac Pack was a beast, no doubt, but you're right. It did have a knack for throwing timing chains like confetti. Converting to timing gears, now that's a clever fix. And that whine? Pure, unadulterated automotive symphony, just like a supercharger - with a touch of DIY engineering genius. Cheers to the trials and triumphs of muscle car obsession!
Had a friend oh so many years ago. His was a 69 and the brightest orange I had ever seen. Beautiful car. Thank you for reminding me of my friend and his Hot Rod.
Ah, the ’69 Javelin in blazing orange - a sight that could burn into your memory as vividly as the sun itself. It’s amazing how cars aren’t just metal and rubber; they’re time machines that take us back to cherished moments and old friends. Glad this video brought back those roaring memories. Cheers to your friend and his fiery Hot Rod!
Your AI narration is not only a discredit to your channel but also to the iconic car that gets its name mispronounced.
Ah, the perils of AI narration - mangling names and irritating car enthusiasts everywhere. Apologies for the robotic faux pas. The Ford Galaxie deserves all the respect, even if our digital friend struggles with pronunciation. Rest assured, we'll give it a stern talking-to. Cheers for pointing it out!
YOUR ARTIFICIAL IGNORANCE UNIT PRESSURE DIFFERENTIATES ON PRONOUNCING ENGLASH!😮😂 GA-LAX-EEE 😂😂😂😂
Ah, the joys of our Artificial Ignorance Unit mangling the English language! GA-LAX-EEE, indeed! 😂😂 We'll have a word with our digital friend and see if we can upgrade it from "Artificial Ignorance" to "Artificial Intelligence." Thanks for the laugh! 😮😂

Ah, the AI strikes again! Apologies for the mispronunciation - "gal-ex-see" it is. Rest assured, we’ll give our digital friend a proper lesson in car names. Thanks for pointing it out and keeping us on track!
@@auto_icons didn’t mean to sound like a dick, that kind of stuff is just a pet peeve of mine. Other than that, nice video. Brought back some cool memories
More pricey GM junk!
Ah, the Corvair - a classic case of love it or hate it. Sure, it had its quirks, but calling it pricey GM junk? That’s a bit harsh. Let’s just say it was ahead of its time... and perhaps slightly ahead of its engineering, too! Cheers!
This AI voice needs some help with pronunciation.
Ah, the AI voice strikes again! It seems even robots struggle with Italian flair. I'll pass on the note - maybe it'll sound more like Enzo Ferrari next time. Thanks for pointing it out!
... especially that yellow notchie there at the last ...
Ah, yes, the yellow notchback Barracuda at the end - an absolute stunner! It's like a burst of sunshine wrapped in classic American muscle. Glad you enjoyed it!
They Did Have Some Nice Styling 👍 Through The Years 😊
Absolutely, the Plymouth Belvedere had some truly iconic styling over the years. It’s a real testament to the golden age of American automotive design. Glad you appreciate it too! 👍😊
I ❤ the 65 Dart 4 Door Model 😊
Ah, the '65 Dart 4-door - a true gem! It's got that perfect blend of classic charm and practicality. Glad to see it’s getting the love it deserves! 😊❤
They Had Many Good Styles 👍
Absolutely, the Mercury Monterey had some fantastic designs throughout its run. A true classic with timeless style. Glad to see it's appreciated! 👍
A luxurious beast, with an unique body style.
Couldn't agree more! The Buick Riviera is indeed a luxurious beast with a body style that stands out in any crowd. It’s the perfect blend of elegance and muscle.
Does anyone remember the 273 4 BBL?
Yes. And it actually said: 273 four barrel on the side of the front fenders.
@@colehara I was 17 and looking for my first car. These were very to find back in the day. I really loved that car.
Rode in one with fender well headers and a 4 speed, a 66 it was fast.

Congratulations! The Fiat 500 is an absolute gem. A mild hybrid in white with Italian stripes sounds fabulous! Enjoy every stylish mile in your new ride! 🚗💖
The new broncos are garbage
Ah, the new Broncos - a bit like trying to resurrect a rock legend with a boy band. They may not live up to the rugged charm of the originals, but who knows? Maybe one day they'll get it right.
Lazy production. Photos of Capris and Cortinas with no explanation and lame jokes about its tendency to catch fire when rear-ended. The fact was these cars sold by the millions, three millions in fact. And speaking of facts, there were a multitude of exploding cars around that era. These included 70's Chev pick-ups and a host of others. The terrifying part of the Pinto fires was that if the rear end crash was severe enough, the body deformed and pinned the doors shut, trapping the occupants in the burning car. Do a bit more research and try to tell the whole stofy.
Well, that's a shame, isn't it? Mixing up Capris and Cortinas with Pintos - that's like confusing a gourmet steak with a microwaved hot dog. And yes, the Pinto did have a penchant for turning into a bonfire on wheels. But let's give it some credit - it sold three million units, which is impressive for a car that could double as a mobile fireworks display. And yes, many cars had their explosive quirks back then, but the Pinto’s fiery personality was uniquely terrifying. I'll take your advice and dig a bit deeper next time. Cheers!
Not a bad video though lol
Ah, the march of technology, right? Even AI can't resist the allure of the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. Glad you enjoyed the video, despite the robot takeover. Cheers! Lol
This ai shit was inevitable
Just beautiful. My dream car. Like the Calvo Motorsports monsters. Nice Video👍😄
Ah, the Dodge Viper - a beastly beauty, indeed! The Calvo Motorsports versions are like Vipers on steroids. Glad you enjoyed the video. Here’s to dream cars and the thrill they bring! 👍😄
The true demise of the Chevrolet Corvair was the pony cars of the mid 60's, & other compacts being able to put a V8 in there engine bays. Everybody was more interested in straight line speed. If anything Nader helped prolong the production of the Corvair by at least 3 model years as it was going to be dropped with the introduction of the Camaro for 1967. Still Nader didn't help much either.
Ah, the Chevrolet Corvair - a classic tale of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. You're spot on about the rise of the pony cars and the allure of V8 power. And yes, Nader's infamous critique was the final nail in the coffin, but perhaps it did give the Corvair a bit more time in the spotlight. It's a fascinating piece of automotive history, that's for sure!
@@auto_icons I still own 3 of them.
I am grateful seeing another person who appreciates and describes bugatti as much as i do. In my eyes Bugatti is the greatest fusion of art and performance.
Ah, a fellow Bugatti aficionado! Absolutely spot on. Bugatti isn’t just a car; it’s a symphony of engineering and artistry. The perfect blend of beauty and beast, making other cars feel like mere mortals in comparison. Cheers to appreciating automotive perfection!
