Putting in the boat Lifts
Using sealed pvc pipe to float out the lifts and lower them slowly into place. One is 10" and other is 12". Both 14ft long.

    Does this work with an older lift where the end section project out and not straight down as shown in the video? Also how to attach the toggles used to secure the canopy to the frame? They do not seem to fit without possibly drilling additional holes to secure. Thanks for any suggestions you may have. Ann and John

    Wow… that’s so shallow there I’m surprised they can get the boat on and off the lift

      Correct. This lake is dam controlled and the lift stations were put in before the water was raised.

      AmericanBoy1 I don’t have that video. You will have to continue to look on CZcams. Sorry Sir.

      One is 10” and other is 12”. It was what the local farmer had laying around.

    How did you seal the end of the PVC pipes? That doesn't look like caps and glue.

    • @TheBradSherman
      @TheBradSherman Před 6 lety

      Didn't have caps available at the time so we wrapped the ends with heavy gauge plastic, then sealed with duct tape. The black you see is a piece of rubber mat to help protect against punctures. Thanks for your inquire.

      I'm going to be making this for my 96" lift this weekend. I have access to 4" and 6" PVC pipe so since the lift is smaller I'm hoping that will be enough buoyancy for my small (aluminum Hewitt Roll A Dock) lift. I'd be very interested in the details of that...even it's own youtube vid. What is the gauge of the plastic (4 mil poly?) ? how do you prevent from blowing a hole in the plastic from the pressure when the pipe is underwater?

    Where did you purchase your PVC tubing and end caps.

    Minimal equipment investment and good use of mechanical advantage with ratchet straps.
