Just coming back & comparing this with the recording on "Awake!" I find it so fascinating to listen to how his voice evolves. That one long, high note on "manana" here is really exceptional -- clearly better than prior versions.

Not a patch on the original though.

Josh had just come home, from going to visit the soldier's at Walter Reed Hospital, where there are SO many wounded veteran's & soldier's, who have been sent to TRY to get well. It is very apparent that this trip to that hospital made quite an impression on him!! I totally LOVE this video & this song, even though it is hard to listen to, because one can almost picture all the wounded one's. I REALLY like that this is for the families, with loved one's in that hospital! Qetesh97

Groban is a beast!

Just going back & forth between this version & the one on his first album. The change in his voice is quite dramatic. Almost unrecognizable, both great, but totally different in tone. The march of time is so relentless, isn't it?

Thanks for posting. This is a great song, even though I think Mark & Tariqh don't make the best backup vocalists for it. This song, more than any other on the album, I think, shows what a gentle, compassionate soul Josh has. I particularly love the lyric "Hold on now we're still going down..." It's so evocative of the torment of PTSD.

favourite line: "he's tired of being told that he's the lucky one"

This may be my favorite song of his new album!

It's really wonderful getting to hear Josh play the piano on Feb. Song without the orchestra covering up his beautiful playing.
