Thanks! Good question, so basically when you catch combo a specific Pokémon like I did, you get increasing amounts of something called ‘candy’, which you can sell to the Pokemart. Pokeballs are dirt cheap so you end up turning a profit if you make sure to head to the Pokemart to sell it just before you reach 999 in your bag, which is the max amount 😊

No way! That’s awesome, I literally NEVER found a shiny when I was a kid, and looking back I don’t know how I didn’t with how much I played. I remember I found Pokerus once though, which I believe was more rare than a shiny 😂

Totally understand that and I’m sorry to hear they removed it for SV - I talked a little in that video about how frustrating it must be for those with visual impairments and that I can’t believe they did what they did, considering that Arceus already perfected it! Hopefully the next legends game will return to the format we enjoyed here 🤞🏻

I think there’s merit to both sides, they’re really cool games in some senses, (particularly when it comes to the difficulty) buttttt I can see why people were disappointed with them as remakes, because the potential was unbelievable, yet the finished product wasn’t quite there 😅 I’ll still never be able to figure out why they didn’t remake Platinum with all of the awesome quality of life additions instead of just straight up remaking DP, but they did add some cool stuff in like the Pokémon hideaways etc. - for me they’re a 7/10 overall!

That is… brutal, although I have suffered recently with my BDSP run so I know the pain!

Ooo that’s rough, but understandable - you were only 10! I never came across a shiny when I was younger but I have to imagine I’d have done something similar 😅

I’m definitely allowed to hunt for shinies using non shinies 👍🏻 If I had to use a shiny to hunt for them, incrementally the challenge time would have soared, because the shiny sparkle animation from my own Pokémon would have added a lot of time on. I’ve seen plenty of other people do exactly the same thing and it’s because the notion of not doing that is insane - let’s think about that idea of having to use shinies to hunt for shinies - does that mean I need to find a shiny Combee just to use sweet scent? Do I need to find a shiny Golduck to have Damp and not let Graveler self destruct? It’s absurd. I specifically didn’t set rules for this challenge like I do in my others anyway, except from the very end near the elite 4 where you’ll see some of the battle rules I laid out.

Congrats, that is some achievement 👏🏻 Might I suggest my Scarlet shiny only video as a way to pass the time while you continue the search? 👀

Yeah that’s fair, I think it depends on what map you play though - I can’t really remember this video properly now but I feel like on Canada, the storms don’t shut down your power? They’re more of a guest satisfaction killer and disease multiplier, as everyone has to retreat inside and the dinosaurs can get injured or sick - so in those cases, they’re not really useful and just take up more money. Could be wrong tho, I can’t fully remember this map!

@@ThisIsTheWayfarer when I did the chaos theory working at the og Jurassic Park I try to make it as close to cannon and still had with raptors, dildos, rex all had stand by generators in case

@@ThisIsTheWayfarer Just did canada again and main reason why i keep the generators is when i take the Small power plants and upgrade to the large... or when i upgrade the small substations to the large ones So nothing loose power

@@erickmak677 usually I’d be the same, but I already have a shiny Charizard from SwSh, and with me being at a catch combo of about 400 when that happened, I wanted to keep going! Plus, I wanted some more unique Pokémon for this challenge cause I feel like I’ve used Charizard a lot over the years 😄 It’s shiny is insane tho ✨
