Tbh this probably would have been the better way to introduce the minutemen. Doesnt take very long to get to this point in the story. Could just have red rocket and sanctuary as the only settlements until this point, then you meet preston and do a few missions for him before you are able to actually build the teleporter. Perhaps sturges is being held ransom somewhere and once you find him, you get a few more settlements and the teleporter.
honestly, this kind of playthrough is worth it just to not be harassed about settlements. Look preston, it's either you fight off raiders for weeks on end, or I join them in unaliving you with the help of a mod....

Been letting dance farm the synths since my second play through with this method. It takes only 15 or so minutes to 2k fusion cells. Just stand behind the door, get a snack and go do something while he fights them off.

Given I picked Nora on every playthrough I didn't even know about this. Also I always give the ship to the robot pirates because the people were A holes.
It doesn't work on console and it's patched. Time waster.

SPOILER: Hancock is the brother of the REAL mayor of Diamond City, who is dead. The current mayor is a synth replacement.
I let the game sit here for a good 45 mins with every playthrough. If you go longer the synths will despawn. I end up with 8-10k of energy cella and 300‐500 institute guns. It's entirely broken, just like the Spiffing Brit likes it
