Tournament Day on Maxinkuckee!
You all know I hate doing tournament videos. It does us no good to give up our spots or show what we're using and what we're talking about or more importantly, I don't like worrying about the camera or footage during a tournament. With not having time to go get my usual content, I had no choice but to edit one and see how it goes. So here you go, this is a look inside of what 2 dumbasses do during an 8 hour tournament...

I think this is the first dedicated Bass fishing trip of the season, up until now I've Just been fishing to catch whatever bit. Late March and got lucky with some decent weather on a day off. It was still a bit chilly but not bad enough to need a coat and the water temp was in the 50s so it seemed like an ideal day to find some active fish. #bassfishing #indianafishing #MesserfishingTv

Still the same annoying Indiana weather! Warm one day and snow the next but we got lucky and had time on one of the warm days. Plan A didn't work out so we had to switch lakes and try plan B which ended up paying off to salvage the day... #jerkbait #bassfishing #indianafishing

2024 in Indiana has been interesting to say the least. An unexpected warm week in February seemed to kickstart the open water fishing season but was short lived. How deep ya fishing here 20-40?
@@bwoenker if memory serves it was that 20-30 range.
Was just there 6/15-6/22. Was there for Muskie and picked one on Tuesday 32”. Water boiled up and decided to leave the muskie alone and caught a 22” 7lb largemouth just east of the big island on a rattle trap. RT was the go to for the week.

Ramp is fine, parking is limited and extremely busy during spring and summer weekends. Get there before daylight and you’ll be fine.

I am from Michigan I am looking for a good bank to catch crappie and Bass you got a spot for me
When I was a kid there were dozens of places. Now I don’t know of a single one that hasn’t been blown out or is now private property. It’s tough to be a bank fisherman around here.
I heard of people having theft problems there at the launch. You hear anything?

Thanks, I really enjoy you videos of you fishing here as this is was my home lake and the lake that taught me how to catch bass. I think I mentioned this in one of your other videos but the Wipers have really changed the way the bass use and move around the lake. You were in the right areas and did well but the big bass are going to be deep in the cover. Texas rigged superfluke in white or watermelon or weedless frog slowly over the top of the thick grass and pads is a fantastic way to lure the big bass out. Good luck out there!

A choppo or a walking bait (strike king sexy dog I believe it’s called). Old video but I believe that’s what I was using.

I was there last weekend. Didn't do nearly as well as you. Spent too much effort fighting the wind. Any idea what the orange bouys are protecting? I noticed them in a couple spots.

I've tried a couple of times. We were actually in a musky tournament last weekend and didn't even see one. Over 40 boats across 3 lakes and only 2 were caught. They can be tough. Gotta be there at the right time

Good video partner, a wise man once said; that a bad day on the water, is always better than the greatest day at work ;) Lol. Were you catching your fish on the side of the lake catching the wind, or did it matter? I have no idea where you were at but looks nice.
I think it had more to do with the higher water temp/shallower water.

Man, I've lived in Indiana my whole life and never caught a bowfin. I used to catch them out of a lake in my grandparents' florida home neighborhood. I thought they were a nuisance at first, that was until I hooked into a BIG BOY. I gotta say, these things are straight up BRAWLERS, and that's coming from a smallmouth junkie! I'm gonna have to make a trip up to the Kan this summer. One of my bucket list items is to catch a bowfin AND a pike on the fly. Is the Tippy good for both of those species too?

Dying to get out! You think only a couple more weeks for bladed jig bite? You speaking in regard to walleye, bass or both?
I'd like to see the water temp in the 50s before I'd bust out the bladed jig with confidence. It's low 40s still.

It's unconscious and rare when I do it. 99% of the time I put it out and chuck the butt in the cooler or Gatorade bottle . Doesn't make it right but I'm not perfect.
