Taking on the birds is a HUGE responsibility...Huge! Look at this beautiful aviary they have where they are safe from predators, they have room to fly, and they can socialize with other birds. Just the cost of the aviary and having it installed was a big expense. Best of all is every one of these birds were nursed back to health. It's a lot more work than opening the back door and allowing the dog out to do its business and calling her back in.

Is Cherry definitely not a female? If there is a possibility that Cherry might be a female then check for any swelling around the vent area in case the bird is egg-bound.

Hi, guys - CZcams hasn’t notified me about you for months, so I signed up for notifications. I love your corvids. I’ve had a robin with a wing problem but he wouldn’t let me near him. I put water out for him in the bushes where he hid, and spread out dried mealworms, which he seemed to appreciate. Now i am laid up after surgery and am going to try to catch up on your videos. Best healing wishes to Cherry.

Hi Dennis, mine (Blackie) has a similar history to Cherry and also now suddenly can barely perch at all two days after being free and semi-flying/scampering about in an outside pen with old tree branches for perching. I think he has possibly twisted his knee somehow on his originally broken and set askew weak leg. No sign of injury otherwise. Have a look at both of Cherry’s feet when he is perching to see if he has developed ‘Slip Claw’. This is where the rear claw slips forward under the foot and the claw points upward between the front claws. This prevents the foot from gripping a perch. Blackie had this when found succumbed to the weather last Winter but it cleared back to normal after a fortnight inside and good feeding. However it has now returned with this perching problem. I have a ‘Terrace’ attachment outside Blackie’s always-open indoor cage at a window and he just lies down on this at present but gets up to feed and water himself from the feeders on the ‘Terrace’. He seems to be a bit brighter after a week so here’s hoping. I treat the injured leg with an Arnica/Comfrey/Calendula Soothing Balm after cleaning his underside under the sink spray tap each morning. I then do physical therapy on his Slip Claw. He then perches/sits on a wooden block on the floor while I clean up his Terrace/Cage. I hope Cherry recovers soon - thanks for making your very interesting videos. Ced.

I hope little Cherry will be ok....and with help from Peach, I think he will be. We watch the crows where we live here in Virginia. My son feeds them and it is amazing how smart they are. They will watch us leave and will follow us about 3 miles to this intersection. When we return, they will be waiting for us, and follow us back home. They get a treat then. If on a Saturday my son sleeps in a little, they will begin to "dive bomb" his bedroom until he gets up and feeds them. It is amazing how this one crow will come into the yard and stack his treats....they love cheese and peperoni. One crow will sit on our shed and call to the biggest crow. He comes in and gathers the food....stacks it to carry in his beak, then they all go into a field where he shares it with the rest of his flock. They have left him a couple of quarters, a couple of dimes, some pull tabs and a key ring.....always on the top of our trash dumpster.

Cherry's healing room looks great! He will appreciate being able to sit high in a sentinel position above the other cages. May the strong summer energies of growth and life speed his recovery 💚

I didn't know Cherry had some kind ofaccident or you but I think that's marvelous that you both have each other to support and learn from yourself,recovering together! It's so much better than being alone in sickness.I don't know how could I live without my furry best friends for years and now my Surprise(abysinian guinea pig number 8).

Maybe the slanted pole is harder for Cherry to walk on. I wonder if he would like a straight perch just a few inches higher than his log.

In your care I have no doubt Cherry will be fine again soon.

Poor Cherry, all the best wishes for Cherry, and a huge 👍 for Cherry. You guys are awesome caretakers and he could not have found a better home. Here in Holland we have unusual cold weather as well. Not frost like you had, but for coming Wednesday the forecast low temp is 7C or 45F. If accurate it would be unusually low for the time of the year. The plants are not really growing fast, there a lots of snails doing a lot of damage because they like the wet weather, and I have a hard time getting flower seeds germinated in the full ground with all those clouds, rain and relative cold temperatures. I was preparing my garden for the heatwaves and droughts that we had the past years, but I did not count on the cold temperatures with all that rain. And the few strawberries that were ripening got eaten by the birds, because the bad weather prevents me from finishing the cage. Yesterday I caught the bird in the act of stealing my strawberries on video while I was recording a garden related video. I walked up to it to about 2 meters or yards distance, but it was not scared at all. It was quite funny. Enjoy the nice weather and have a great weekend 👍

I'm pals with 3or4 blackb irds who trust me, and I found one in severe pain roken wing, the others. Chasing away seagulls trying to kill it, my gsd is sooo gentle with birds mice little animals in general, but A monster with our other dog,aaaah. Never.i d, in gonna rescue it vet it and the other irds seem happy with me taking g it they know I'm OK with it and it's gonna be OK with me so they're happy. ny advice welcome.e😊
