I programmed some creatures. They Evolved.
This is a report of a software project that created the conditions for evolution in an attempt to learn something about how evolution works in nature. This is for the programmer looking for ideas for interdisciplinary programming projects, or for anyone interested in how evolution and natural selection work.
Before commenting on the religious/theological implications of this simulation, please note that this video in no way purports to explain all the mysteries of life and the universe.

Shakespeare Word Search Puzzle

This very large word search puzzle poster is for the nerdiest Shakespeare nerds. The word search has a grid of 85,808 letters containing the 26,786 words in William Shakespeare's vocabulary. Our source was The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, originally published in 1623, available from Project Gutenberg (gutenberg.org). Shakespeare wrote using a vocabulary of, depending on who did the co...

    This is maybe how God felt when He created us. He watched us grow from little critters into a species that could be conscious and sentient as well as intelligent enough to understand Him. It’s all beautiful artwork made by God, in our universe, in infinity.

    I think the rapid adaptation to "un-aliving" is due to its power. Theres no struggle, no risk for the perpetrator, so its completely one-sided. If a criteria of self defense would be added, then it wouldnt be as prevalent.

    48:00 I have a sociological interpretation. I interpret the results as such that there might be two stable types of society and one of cooperation. I can't help but feel that these things are reflected in democracy and autocracy. With current events in mind, maybe we are in one of these unstable phases where these two models are competing against each other.

    How We Were Created Regarding creation, I am a retired herbalist, full of health knowledge. I did not need God or so I thought. Then on Dec. 7/2022 I found a flaw in my research and died. I was gone for 27 min. When I was dead, my guide provided by God asked me if I had any questions, and boy did I. Question: How is the universe created? Answer. It is a giant self-directing simulation, a lot like the Simpsons or South Park is to you. The debate over what is actually stops when you look and see we are ones and zeros. Suddenly I understood. In a computer program, I can build or create as fast as I can program. I also do not need to follow scientific timelines or rules to create; rather, computer web design capabilities would determine what I could do. Under these conditions, I can build parts and activate and integrate them in any order I wish. I can build any program and launch it looking any age I wish. Even though our program called our universe is only about 6000 years old, it was made to look a lot older. EG: On a computer, I can build a house that looks ultra modern or very old. Nether appearance date's the time I built it. Every glitch, every problem, everything considered a miracle, is solvable this way. On a hard drive, I can easily create talking donkeys, burning bushes that are not consumed, and resurrect anyone I wish, along with having universal floods and talking snakes. I also can have different realms not visible from Earth, such as heaven and hell. It makes total sense if you think about it. No other way does that I know of. As for the six days of creation, God could have put in one part on each of the 6 hard drives (one per day), plugged them in (one per day), then balanced the program. Then on day 7 sat back to enjoy his work and rest. Universe done! As for the positioning of distant galaxies, or using the creation of the solar system as proof of the age of the universe, on a computer program, I can place any object as far away as I want and make it any age I wish. I also can see it being flat, as this is the same here when we create things on our computers. God says that for those who will not believe, “He will send strong deception such that you will believe”. I think this calculation of the huge ages provable from these measurements, based on the laws of physics and astronomy, is part of it. Next, atheists and often Christian scientists try to use the day-to-day ways the universe works after creation to explain creation itself, and this is where the problem starts. The principles and programming needed to create a universe on a computer are different from how it works after it is created. If this was not true, we would have to be living by the rules of South Park and The Simpsons just to create them. We all know this is not so, as we have both programs, while our own reality remains unchanged. This is the essence of our creation, as to how it was, and is still being done. By the way, God has done a great job of heaven. I saw a small portion when I was there, and can not wait to go back. His building skills are truly awesome. In short, God is sitting at his computer, punching any key he wants. He can change reality in any way, including pressing delete. Instead, he has chosen not to and gives us all a chance at eternal life instead. To start your life long and beyond Christian journey, begin with this prayer, then find a good church and some good Christian friends. Jesus I believe in you, forgive me all my sins, come into my life and make it better, in Jesus' name, Amen.

It states scientists have figured out that we never die. It fits in very well and is correct. They are finally beginning to see it! I have died and come back. I have seen both heaven and hell. Not only that, but I went in an atheist and came out seeing it all and believing. My death experience lasted about 27 min. Just before I was actually dead, God said you know the prayer, and now is the time. I did not believe, even then, but realized I could no longer save the body and although it was probably nothing, it was at least a chance. That is how little I believed it would work, but God accepted it anyhow. I prayed like this, "Jesus I believe in you, forgive me all my sins, come into my life and make it better, in Jesus' name, Amen". Instantly I was allowed into heaven, for a simple prayer, after a lifetime of posting to prove him false. Even now, several months later, I still can not comprehend that type of love and mercy, but it is real. The start of a Christian journey is the prayer. God Bless.

      I watched the "creatures that defy evolution" link for a few minutes and I can already tell that the guy does not understand evolution one bit, because he genuinely says "they bred horses and yet they only got horses, not other things like cows or pigs" and says it as if it's an actually good point. What about the wolves that we turned into dogs? This is ridiculous. Also thanks for specifying they were christians, it makes the bias a lot more evident. Your near death experience ruined you as a person.

    I was kinda wondering, is the kill penalty a lesser evil in your simulation compared to dying of age, that could be a possibility for why the murder rates are so high according to those charts, if the neurons truly believe murder is less of a penalty towards them then dying of age, it could be just a “we’ll grow faster in the future if the murder rate is higher now, then when we stop killing, the mutation and population rate will increase exponentially” it’s a strategy, could be interesting,

      @@johndeatherage8873 It is self satisfying to say “because we don’t fully understand X, it must be god” first of all, and second, I recommend you look into the field of Systems Chemistry. It’s a dense topic and not easy to understand, but it demonstrates scientifically how complex molecular systems can exhibit _darwinian natural selection_ in the absence of human intervention. This shows how biological systems can come about from inorganic means. If you are actually interested in truth, you should explore this field honestly. If you would prefer to believe in god, that’s fine, but that’s not scientific. No one has ever used the presupposition that god created the earth to predict anything, yet using science and scientific theories we can make predictions and measurements that we then observe in reality. Remember reality? That place we are all in? Science only concerns itself with the reality we live in, not some supernatural thing outside of us.

      "Intelligent design" doesn't just imply that someone created the simulation, it implies someone created all the different types of creatures. In that sense of the word, any neural network being put under evolutionary pressure is not intelligent design. And of course because biology is different, you can't really compare them

    • @johndeatherage8873
      @johndeatherage8873 Před 15 hodinami

      @bryanfongo327 biology still requires a very complex blueprint, even as the video states. The video also states we don't know where the fiirst self-replicating organism and its blueprint came from, and evolution cannot explain it. Never mind the chemicals that make up that complex blueprint, the elements that make up those chemicals, the atoms with their structure and forces that make up the elements, the immense energy required to even make a small amount of matter, the presence of much more matter than anti-matter in order to not annihilate itself, the immense energy for that first dense matter to overcome it's own gravitational weight, and the natural flow toward disorder instead of order. It all has to work before there is even a chance of natural selection or evolution. The simulation is nowhere as complex as the simplest biological organism. The video mentions predators and disease are not accounted for. While the first generation simulation shows one genome randomly moving from one side to the other, I did not see it finding not only a mate, which the video says is required, but a genome with a close enough informational structure to be able to reproduce. Biology requires this. Otherwise the first generation will die before it can reproduce. That is why I am skeptical.

      Bringing up religion when no one talked about it, you just wanna argue huh? I'll give arguing then. This really should have gone without saying that this simulation is fundamentally different from how biology, or even real life for that matter, works. You can start with a cell that reproduces and that is already enough for how dna works in real life. You can argue that someone designed the first cell and that's ok, but evolution happened and that's just something you'll have to cope with. To clarify, the existence of a deity creating a system allowing evolution does not count as intelligent design. Intelligent design is when evolution doesn't happen at all. So if you say "just how god did" you are already admitting intelligent design isn't real. BRAVO YOU, clever you, look at you what a good job you have done defending your position.

    in a perfect world with just 1 or 2 threats , We need hundreds of complex cells to APPEAR in order for them to develop into more viable cells. So how many cells do we need to survive in our world full of threats? and considering all creatures, why can't we create even flies in laboratories from simple cells like "Mother Nature" did? I am not trying to prove that the Creator exists, because it is obvious that he does. I am denying the evolution of cells to the creations that we see in nature .

JUST BECAUSE YOU DONT UNDERSTAND SOMETHING DOESNT MEAN ITS NOT TRUE. the exact same way when we ask about suffering of people in the world you guys go “we can’t understand gods mind” and we don’t say anything to that, we don’t say “ITS FAKE IT ISNT TRUE” we just talk about the existence of god being only a claim and not a verifiable proof. And this process of cells becoming complex and where it raised from is IS NOT EVOLUTION. THIS IS ABIOGENESIS. A theory which religious people can not accept since they don’t trust some part of science but do trust others, it’s like athiests believing in the world wide flood (it’s bs btw) but not in god. It doesn’t make sense why u trust one part and not the other. It’s like believing pages exist but not books. Please educate yourself
