I like crafting items big and small, also half wrecking knives in search of improved functionality. If you watch my videos you are a rare breed and if you read these descriptions as well, say, 'hat's off to you and thank you for your consideration.

I tried to do a remix and your voice didn't show up. I go back to this and find my previous comment is gone. They REALLY don't like freedom.
@@Captain-Electro Strangeness abounds on this platform. A whole host of peculiar symptoms, suggestive of some kind of progressive disease. Still it is a very fine thing for meeting similar minded folk. I sometimes use Odysee and I'm mirroring my YT videos to my account there.
@@dongkhamet1351 I made a video response.
@@Captain-Electro Good job! I left a couple experimental comments.
❤🤍💙🥰
I will not turn down either of those spears 😁 thank you.
Looks like they came with a decent sheath too. I got one years ago with the nylon sheath.
My dad always told me I paid too much for tools. I got a Klein 6 in 1 screwdriver once. He asked me how much I paid. When I told him, he pulled out a drawer full of 50 of them and said I could have taken one of his. He goes to auctions and yard sales. He had a 5 gallon bucket full of hammers once that he paid five bucks for. He then proceeded to sell them all individually. I gotta get back in there and work on the spear.
@@Captain-Electro that is sound. Your father also displayed a keen appreciation for the value of tools and it sounds like he wasn't afraid to have too many! A bucket of hammers sounds lovely :D
Digging it!!
On Sunday I got the $10 CS Kudu Lite. It's an ideal Mozzie Slasher, lacking only in speed of deployment. It is very lightweight and well balanced and the blade profile is nimble and slicey. I also realized that having that pressed external back spring means that although it is a slipjoint, a firm grip on the handle will prevent closure. I should take a look see whether you did a review on the Kudu. It is pretty much a ripoff of an Okapi. I believe those are still being made in South Africa but they may be a bit hard to come by here in the US.
I need more woods time 😔 I started mine in the shop.
Talk about a ton of work! That's the kind of spear you could build a spear wall out of to deter riders on horseback!
Todavía no hay respuesto del doctor. Doctores. Jamás.
You just gotta look
The sound of that Chopping hearkens back to the call of the Wild--Primitive bro. Dig that chopper👍. Carefully Cook that tip up 18” in a fire ! Bear Killer
Yes sir, just have to track that bear-killer back to her lair... I was thinking the same. Fire-hardened tip. Away we go.
@@dongkhamet1351 I been carrying a 5 1/2’ staff with a 10” File ground to a heavy spear point -Mounted-pinned on like a knife blade between the saw cut slot. Been packing that in the wilds for years after experiencing a 2000 pound high desert range Bull nearly cut me off from my Truck! I hastily forgot my pistol in truck that day.
@@CuttingEdgetools Dear Spear Challenge Pioneer, I can not help but insist that you make an instructional review of the Spear in question!
@@dongkhamet1351 I can do brother. I think I showed the spear on a long time back bushcraft episode. But a episode crafting one would be cool
@@CuttingEdgetools I will seek out that video episode. Now I'm not sure whether it rings a bell, perhaps I did see that one. If so my case rests; Pioneer out of necessity moreover.
Please watch attentively.
'Fashionably late snap on the main'.
Wicked Blade 💪
At this point the wound in question bears a remarkable similarity to a belt grinder burn ;) A fortuitous removal of excess callus!
YAAAAY YOU GOT IT! 😁 They got it there fast.
All in excellent condition!
It's going to take a few days to gather my supplies, but I'm planning a javelin type spear. Yours seems to be sort of an assegai. This is very cool!
I had a kershaw friction folder once. I couldn't imagine having so many restrictions on what I could carry. However, in my state, I'm not allowed to conceal a fixed blade. Yet I am permitted to conceal a glock.
The Law is an Ass
That fly swatter will make the thicker ones moan... "OH DADDY!" I'd always assumed buck had a Chinese line of knives, but I never really looked into it hard enough. I need to show off my mad max fly swatter now. I got one with a hidden surprise!
Fly swatter challenge!
Do you make slingshots? I've made a few.
Americaaaaa! 🇺🇸
🤯
Singer like sewing machines? Interesting!
DON'T TREAD ON ME!!!🐍
Slick!
I had an imperial Barlow once. I did young person things to it, and now I only have regret and no imperial blade.
Tell me about it. I broke the pliers on my first Leatherman, from my Dad, by slamming it in my school desk. The beginning of what may yet be a long and inglorious career stress testing metal products. I'll keep an eye out for a nice Imperial for ya, with the hollow bolsters ;)
Your bill hook reminds me of a spear. I need another spear for no particular reason. I haven't used mine in a year, but it's cool to have. You have a package coming by Friday.
Let's do a spear challenge! I challenge you to make that spear. I will also make one. Then we challenge everyone else, with our spears!!! For example Cold Steel sells the Bushman for $25, hardwood broom handles are everywhere, so a spear is a fairly simple $50 project for anyone. If you're using something like a Bushman it's also a very useful tool, much like my pole billhook, just single straight edged. Lighter and more maneuverable, no doubt.
@@dongkhamet1351 I'm down for that! I will start by the end of the week. Very cool idea!
@@Captain-Electro then I commit to doing the same and I will also get started before the end of the week. Although my imagination has me forging out my spear head I think I'll take a CS Bushman regrind route to save a lot of time and focus the rest on the haft.
That is nice, looks like it’s seen some action also
Yes sir she's been out a-whitylin and back
@@dongkhamet1351 so cool, thanks for sharing
@@JohnKlahr likewise! I had trouble locating a small trapper like yours although I think I found one now. Anyway meanwhile I thought I do already have something not dissimilar, even down to having synthetic scales. I heard it said Kirinite is the only material that keeps looking better with more pocket time but I probably disagree on all counts and especially Delrin. I deliberately roughed up my Delrin Sodbuster for improved grip, turns out I like the matte look too.
Learned some more things on this video 😆
Thanks for the vindication. On this channel I must damage stuff and injure myself in order to best transmit my profound knowledge of repair and healing.
I'd buy one it's cool
Thank you, that is music to my ears! I would love to sell you one of these knives, made to order, at a fair price Please have a look at my video titled Knife Reviewers' Challenge, if you would like to commission one of these home made blades for yourself. Just one thing, in the video I said up to 4" blade but it's 3" maximum, I misspoke. For the first ten knives I make to sell I will keep the price from $110 for a basic knife and sheath combo to over twice that for something like the Captain Electro Wharncliffe, "Obsidian". Providing that these first ten knives are well received and there is further demand, I will double the price for the next ten, and so forth, until I run out of these Stanley chisels. Meanwhile I will be making other kinds of blades, as I do, but I still want to cut my teeth on a case load of chisel knives, each made to order for the discerning client such as yourself.
IT HAS ARRIVED!
¡¡¡YES!!!
@@dongkhamet1351 I love it! I haven't put it down since I walked in the door!
Nice piece
As my dear old Dad reprimanded me whilst debunking Hollow Earth Theory: You Must Understand The Vectors.
Looks like fun! I imagine it's easier without holding a camera haha
What a waste of time, this video, for me , and whatever it is you do!!
'Glad you found that out.
The thumbnail definitely threw me for a loop.
I didn't know the baking soda trick. I learned something!
I met a guy who uses this trick to repair surfboards and he knows a guy in aerospace who uses it to patch chips in carbon fibre propellers. It is very strong but also very brittle. So for metal on metal it works as long as there is no significant flex. I roughed up the magnet only a hair and I didn't even degrease the blade before adhesion, so we'll see how she holds.
First two way I have laid eyes on! Nice work and concept is intriguing 👍. A old friend that’s passed on was a World Class Violin Bow Maker. He entered all three competitions and won Gold on all three first time! For Violin,Cello & Bass. He was the most intense craftsman with patience. Would spend a week on one little step. Truly a master craftsman. I would just shake my head. Way beyond my patience level and ability to grasp and take in all the facets
Bow making is something else! - I heard about that from my friend and mentor, the luthier Julien Schneider (who taught me to make a knife). He always buys in the bows. I am intrigued by your guitar making. My neighbour Jim has a very interesting early The Gibson (yes, with The Gibson on the headstock). We must make a video to show you. Also back in Valencia together with Julien we have cooked up something fairly unique in the bowed instrument line. About a decade in the making. I am largely responsible for the concept and Julien the construction. I have a video of the prototype in action which I will upload shortly.
@@dongkhamet1351 Awesome. Love to see those. Thanks for sharing
A tongue twister!
Very nice hawkbill! It looks so beautiful and peaceful- I went on a 5am desert walk. Any later and you'd surely melt. Smiles Davis❤
For a few years, my camera stand was a pool noodle with a fishing weight in it and a groove for the phone. I eventually graduated to some wood with 3 nails 😂
A woods walk and whack! Excellent!
We had a smashing time!
I feel like I would place that in a shadow box on the wall. Very good videography when it focused. Jim is cool!
I spoke with Jim today about making some videos together in the woods. He knows all the trails around here better than the deer. He made a lot of them, or in many instances uncovered old ones. He knows a lot of awesome spots - he took me to a rock called The Tooth that is 20' high shaped like a fang, out in a really nice patch of forest. Places like that. He is also a talented woodcarver so it makes sense to show some of his carvings on the channel, he is up for that as well. Maybe one of these days we'll all meet up and have a whittle-in! :D
My wife has a post office app. She said I had something coming from up yonder 😃
That is correct my friend, Obsidian is on her way. Truly a great visit to the PO today, all things considered ;D
Holy moly!!!
That snap was felt here in Tucson!
Yeah I had to pop my eyeballs back in and mop the blood from my ears, but it was worth it.
I need one now
That's a familiar sensation that hit me like a Great White Shark when I saw this knife up for sale umpteen days ago. No regrets so far. On the contrary I had a real belly laugh when I took her out the box. The blade is quite awesome. There are a surprising amount of giant slipjoints available via the usual suspects - perhaps you're already on it ;D
I love me some vintage LL Bean. Some of my Tata's old knives need some TLC. Also, I'm nearing one week off nicotine😮
Gotta love those older cases.
Like a film noir detective... 'always that old case on the dusty shelf awaiting resolution. ;D
