Thanks for posting this strat. I want to do a Proud Mode replay of this game now that Melon Mix is really taking off, but I was absolutely dreading this fight (and Antlion and Leechgrave). Looking back, this fight isn't especially worse than the standard for handheld KH filler bosses. I must have just been remembering my frustration with it as a kid.

Only good thing about this fight is that you get listen to “Fight and Away” for an extended period of time

358/2 Days transcended from KH2 and isn’t a “mash X to win” game anymore. You need to scroll first, before mashing X to win.

Use a Magic blade (like Phantom Gear, Hazard Gear, or any one that increases your Magic a decent amount) and a lot of Fire. If you don't have as many Fires as I do in this video, bring a couple of Elixirs, especially since they're easy to craft (the hardest ingredient to get is Elixir Recipe, which is super easy to farm in Mission 43 on Day 150). It should be easy to get like 12 Fires, and no other Magic is useful in this fight given it's immune to Blizzard, Thunder, and Aero elements. Fira does not have the homing and Firaga does not have the range or gravity-defying ability of Fire, so realistically it's the only spell that works. And that's fine, since it works super well. Do your best to stay underneath it, and don't chase immediately behind it. When it's glowing red, there's no reason to try attacking it, so just wait until that's over and dodge its attacks. In the event you get hit, it does hit pretty hard when it's glowing red, so you probably want to bring some Cure/Cura. At LV5, Cure has 2 full seconds of invincibility upon casting, it's basically Leaf Bracer. Cura's nice for the weaker hits since you'll just regen it off.

I actually loved mage build now in KH1 and by extension, KH3(except Critical Mode). I genuinely didn't know MP stat is tied to how long your MP bar is until I watched a plat speedrun.

Honestly really enjoying the card system and the random pulls.

honestly, great video. but at the same time.. this video confirmed for me that I just don't wanna give this game a chance. gonna be the one I decide to pretend doesn't exist.

Two questions. The first is about difficulty. Is there any reason to run proud mode outside of I suppose achievements? Does it increase drop rates or anything to reward the higher difficulty? Second question is about stocking. If you stock three attack cards and they don't make a sleight, does it still follow the strike, thrust, finisher stats or does it have set damage as if you did a sleight?

Do yo nuts hang low? Do they wobble to the flow? Can you tie em' in a Knot? Can you tie em' in a bow..?

I always wondered how Lv 1 Pride Lands would go. I mean, Sora can't use Guard in it, so I figured it'd be a little more difficult than every other world.

I was fighting Axel when I stupidly realized my cards wouldn't come back after being broken. We were both on reload three and i only had my cure and zero card. I almost quit after that lol. Thanks for the tips, gonna pick it back up again!

Never got to play this as a kid on GBA and I've been so confused playing the HD remakes and going for plat trophies on ps4. After watching this I'm ready to beat the fuck of out of this game.

I got the bundle last week and just wrapped up KH1's achievement hunting. I started this one today and... jesus it's like the game dropkicks you into a fever dream. Its ironic how a game about losing memories basically comes down to "you forgot all your stuff. Please forget what you remember as well because its not going to help you".
