No it is not at night. In old days every market day is a special day for all, both the sellers and tĥe buyers alike. Indeed, the young boys roam tĥe market place to find beautiful girls and even classmates(ladies that help their mothers in the marketplace). It is often in the evening after school. It is typical for young students. Ladies do their hairdressing and boys haircuting sometimes. Iam 66 years old. I am from a village in Togo, I do remember the practice every Wednesday, the market day in my village. It was fun, great and friendliest moments to chat with classmates(boys and girls). Just the tittle could be a little bit misleading but it is very true in West Africa, in the villages.
