Love you guys!!!!
Beautiful… love it👌
This channels awesome thanks for all the local history- I’ve been on a hunt for the second Presbyterian church of Carbondale , approved in the 1890s and Bible study was reported however I don’t know if there was ever a church built?
10:40 that hand hewn beam and those planks probably were part of a dam. Those stone headers on the creek bank were probably were is stood
You're probably right because there was a dam near the part of the creek we showed you by the state store. We found out later some of the beams were also part of the old plank toll road. There are a number of these along the creek.
Thank you for the video. I particularly appreciate that the comments and information from different people in the group were included. The wonderful thing about bringing up conversations about local history is that you never know who might have details and knowledge to share
Thank you for the comment. They each were all local history experts in different areas. I learned a lot from them.
As we were filming, a local told us the traffic circle at the Chinchilla end might have been there as late as the 60s or 70s. Our member Ron after seeing this told us he grew up in the area and there definately was no circle there in the 50s or later.
Thanks for posting, very interesting the area needs some more research. The hand hewen beam is a valuable piece of the Notch History. Tony Z JTHS
Thank you for the comment and acknowledging the importance of the beam. There are a number of them along the crik. We have also found other large historic structures that would take a developer or contractor with heavy equipment to save. There is so much about this area we still don't know. I've done a lot of research but I think a professional or dedicated amateur could find out much more. There are some limits to the internet and sit at home research.
It would be interesting to see areas where known mine cave-ins caused damage like two of Holy Rosary High School in 1934 and 1944.
Nice! Love the violin. What a great group of musicians, glad I got this video, looks like so much fun. 😊
Thank u for sharing and now I am homesick I grew up in New Milford Pa
Thank u for sharing
Jermyn Pa. was also the birthplace of First Aid!
Really enjoyed, wished there was more info about dates and people. Did see some familiar faces eventually.
Why not just leave them alone?
🎉 what a cool idea! Great job you guys!
That is so sad. I was actually just going to join when it closed.
It's obvious that an incredible amount of time and effort went into this!!!
At 3:56, that circular piece is/was one of the 200 foot smokestacks.
Well done Mr Keklock.
Tnx!
They did a super great job, and so did you filming it!
Yes they did! Tnx!
Thanks Dale. They did a great job!
YW!
This is not the class of 1977
I'd love to know what has replaced the breakers.
Such a shame
Dale, what a beautiful video. I felt like I was sitting right there in the car with you as we drove down all those roads. I really enjoyed it. I bet it’s really beautiful in the fall when all the leaves are turning colors. Hope you and your family are all doing well. Bruce
I love seeing these old breaker and mining photos, right in my back yard there's still a large bridge abutment from the d&h gravity railroad
Wow, these are fantastic! Thanks for sharing them. Do you think Peck's Crossing is now Peckville?
Love all your colliery photos. My parents were born in 1912 in Mt. Carmel - moving away only after WWII. I still remember the breakers in the 50s and the stories around the dinner table of a family of miners. Thanks so much.
YW!
Dale who are you?
From class of 1973
I had no idea this was on Reese St. in Scranton, PA
Check out our website to see who's buried there. www.historical-data.com
Biggie is legendary.
Nice video Dale.
Very dangerous!! 😳🪱
Amen 🙏🏼 ❤
Tillie and Joshua so remember seeing them together at the zoo. My grandfather and I would take the trolley to get there. That would be more than 70 years ago. So many great memories about "Old " Scranton.
1960 next ?
So good to have the experiences on video for posterity. Thank you for posting. We are from Victoria BC and my mum was only 10 when ww2 started, but her family had two casualties of war as well as her mum’s brother lost his leg from shrapnel and was in hospital for two years fighting infection. They had one die in ww1 as well - he was a doctor. My husband lost one grand uncle in ww1 and two uncles in ww2 - they were both pilots - one was on a bombing run to Dusseldorf and shot down over Spa Belgium. We are very grateful to have your piece of history on video. Thank you
Very nice interview
Wow, that was fantastic. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been living at that time. She has a good memory.
I didn't realize my aunt and uncle graduated in the same year. John Sweeney "The man with the golden arm" and Rita Sweeney "Miss J.H.S." I miss them both ... gone too soon. Thanks, Dale.
YW!
If not where can I find it? It's my 2nd year today out of highschool and I'm a part of class of 2022
Do you have Valley View High School Archibald, PA Class of 2022 video like this one?
Poor coverage of the Riverside Elementary School
So nice to know. I can't drive anymore. Going blind but it would have been nice
Thank you, Bob! A beautiful song and tribute to your mother.
I really enjoyed this interview! I was friends with her sister! I’m a Scranton native. I met Rosalie at the Russian Orthodox Church in Mayfield, PA, a few years ago. Been invited to her house in Carbondale during the Holidays!
Is there somewhere i can sign up to do one of the private tours of Edgerton?

wow!! where was this?
WOW !I I was at this event when I was 12 years old. My Dad and Uncle owned Pete's Body Shop, across the street from Harrison Funeral home.. It's Karilla transmission how.. These pictures bring back many memories !
How can i go on one of these tours?
Very interesting 🤔
